I beg your sweet pardon?
I have to say I choked myself a little bit. Where did this person get the 28 school shootings since Newtown? That would be more than 2 school shooting per month, every month for the past year.
I have noticed that Moms and other groups are flexible with their definitions whenever is convenient. Mass killings can be now any time when 2 or more people are killed by anybody and any reason,. So I would not be surprised that a school shut-down because of a crime committed nearby a locale of education is suddenly considered a school shooting. There has been a fair share of Violent Campus crime, so I would not be surprised they are included in the mix.
So, other than the Arapaho High School incident (which does not help them much due to its outcome), I do not remember any more of these school shootings happening. Of course, I cannot be sure because The Media is in collusion with the NRA to keep these School Shootings under wraps so both can keep profiteering from their unregulated sales of fully automatic assault atomic weapons with 30 round assault magazine clips….. yeah, that might be it.
I saw their list of ‘school shootings’ a week or two ago, I’ll try to find it for you. The list includes a suicide or two at a school, law enforcement intervention at, near and within earshot of schools and if I’m not mistaken, one school ‘shooting’ where no shots were actually fired. I’m pretty sure their list included one incident with a pellet gun, too.
Here’s a partial list:

That article is the product of a collaboration between TDB and MDA. MDA is also counting an incident in OR (IIRC) where a guy was parked on or near school property who had firearms in his vehicle and was shot by a LEO. There was also an incident in NJ (again, IIRC) with a student and a pellet gun.
Sometimes it’s hard to remember every incident that MDA classifies as a ‘school shooting’.
The Daily Beast posted the results of their investigation on December 12th. School shootings are defined as:
“…shootings that occurred on school campuses when students were present. Shootings that took place after hours on school grounds were not included.”
There’s a lot of gun control rhetoric mixed in but damn if it doesn’t look like they’ve documented their stats.
Folks, instead of going off half-cocked and looking foolish, uninformed and ignorant, we need to start examining these studies and their respective methodologies before commenting.
Just a thought.

Daily Beast? What is that and why should I care what oozes from its servers?
So it is gathered like the Salon Death List…. no frigging sense.
[…] On the previous post, I was wondering how in the hell The Moms came up with the 24 school shootings for 2013. Bill Baldwin and Walt were kind enough to point out the link. […]
Referring to the standard, we have 8 listed, 3 of which had zero deaths

Check my next post…. you’ll have a laugh.
Truth and desire to do good has and probably never will be this organizations goal. Their statements have some element that is “almost” true and then they fill in the gaps to make their agenda appear to be OK. It certainly can be depressing to see these people get their story out to the public and not be contested by the press.
There does seem to be good news also happening, namely http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jan/3/newtown-type-mass-shootings-tripled-recent-years-r/
Frankly, I’d be skeptical if someone named Pooja told me the sun would come up in the east!
