  1. Ouch. Presumably a botched reholster, I wonder if his finger was on the trigger or if the trigger got snagged? That looks like it could be a flimsy holster.

    1. Alien Gear Shapeshift, by the look of it. Supposedly they’re pretty nice holsters.

      I’m guessing it’s a booger-hook-on-bang-switch ND, myself.

      1. Was this an IWB holster? For a Glock/P320 I would think you would go with a Kydex/Horse hide!

  2. There is NO such thing as an “accidental” discharge. Period. This is also why I will not own a “glock” or similar style firearm for every day carry.

    1. It is not the glocks fault. If you knew anything at all about Glock you would know that it is impossible to snag pull the trigger. You have to pull the trigger and the safety lever at the same time. It is a very safe design. Millions of military and law enforcement all over the world trust this design. Go to an authorized dealer and ask a gunsmith to show you how it works. This poor fella shot himself in the leg. It was not the holsters fault, and it damn sure wasn’t the guns fault. It was his fault. He just isnt man enough to admit he f@#$ed up.

    1. Agreed. I carry the S&W SD9 and every review gives it very high marks on all areas except the trigger. But I like the trigger pull because I like to carry with a round chambered and I have confidence that it won’t fire unless I pull the trigger.

    2. I was getting light-strikes, which failed to fire, with light trigger in my Glock 17 so I went back to stock trigger. Glad I tested trigger before I chose to carry it. Also I got crimp-jump on Ruger 9MM LCR light carry revolver shooting weak hand. After 3rd shot bullet from 4th round had moved out of case and jammed revolver.
I only use 9MM for range not carry. I carry Ruger LCR revolvers in 357 Magnum and 38 Specials for self-defense.

        1. Federal 115 grain full metal jacket. Make sure u fire ur gun weak hand single handed & check case length on 5th bullet. However, federal ammo ran fine through my Glock 17.

  3. Why does he take his gun out when getting into a vehicle? Unless he’s going somewhere he can’t carry, just leave it in the holster. If he fears retention, get another holster. The less the gun goes in and out, the less likely an accident will happen.

  4. I have used Alien Gear numerous times with no problem.
I don’t see how the Guard part of the holster (flap) that is twice the width of the trigger guard got into the trigger guard and depressed the “Glock safety dingus” and pulled the trigger.
Sounds like a holstering trigger finger failure.

  5. I had a similar incident with a shoulder holster and Glock. I simply MUST have a thumb safety NOW! To Each Their Own In Eliminating The Possibilities!! #StayVigilant #2A

  6. Kind of curious about the removing the gun to get in a car. No sound reason for that. Trigger job? Not smart. Isn’t this what they call “Glock leg” in police depts.? Sounds even worse than Tex Grubner’s fast draw debacle with a 1911.

    1. I have a holster mounted on the left side of my center console even with my right knee for my Ruger LCR 357 magnum for quick access. I was carjacked in 2016 and with the help of Jesus everything was over in 3 seconds with 2 38 shots at less than 2 feet and ex-con carjacker in the hospital. Now carjacker in prison for 12 years with 3rd felony conviction.

  7. Protrusion on holster equals potential trigger-pull. That’s why I like my Allen I.W.B. Belly holster. Comfortable and smooth in-and-out.

  8. I’ve been carrying with my alien gear tuck IWB for the last couple years and luckily managed to not shoot myself, lucky me?

  9. I carry a Glock 19 in that exact holster. I unloaded my Glock and tried to recreate the accident, and I don’t see how it could be the holster’s fault. I think he’s blaming his gear for his own negligence.

  10. 1 millisecond lack of attention and oops its my gears fault. hmmm, maybe?
Oh wait, it was a Glock. Get a 1911, problem solved. You’ll thank me later. Oh yea, and dry holster practice at least a thousand times before you carry again.

  11. Liking my Springfield XD9 Sub Compact more and more. Carry in a CrossBreed Super Tuck for the last 4 years with no problems. I only unholster it if going into prohibited area or going to bed at night for placing in bedframe holster.

  12. Looks like he had his Finger to close to the Trigger..even tho his Finger was on the side of the Trigger cage he Bumped his Finger inwards when he hammed his gun in the Holster..Baaaaam!!

  13. The best carry gun in my opinion is a DA/SA hammer fired, one in the chamber and hammer decocked with a heavy first trigger pull.and also train how you carry.

  14. Saw one with a .45 looked like a butcher open his leg with a carving knife. Lucky man.
