The Antifa flop

I hate soccer.  I fucking hate soccer.  The reason I hate soccer is the flop.  The flop is when a player takes a dive and fakes an injury to win a strategic advantage in a game.  The amazing thing is, this isn’t cheating.  It’s a strategy.  But as Americans, we consider this behavior to be egregious.

What does the soccer flop have to do with Antifa?  That is made clear in this article from Reason:

The Conservative Trans Woman Who Went Undercover With Antifa in Portland

In this article, the mole describes an Antifa tactic used against the police.

We get to the Portland Police Association and immediately, they blockade both ends of the street. They built the shield wall and they’re hammering the door open. I went over and I’m standing in the bloc as they’re breaking the door down. It took them a little while longer than what I thought. They could have found better ways to breach the building, but they had hammers and pry bars and they pry it open and pry the plywood back and they pour fuel and light it on fire and start burning stuff.

Strategically what they’re doing is, they’re forcing a dilemma action. A dilemma action is when you put your opponent in a no-win situation. Your enemy has to react. If they don’t react, they look weak; if they do react, they have to react in a certain way where it looks like it’s an overreaction.

That’s their [antifa’s] objective. It’s not a tactical thing. That’s why all the “press” is there, the sympathetic press. They’re trying to create propaganda. They know how the police are going to react, so they carefully calibrate what they do to try to provoke the police into reacting and then filming it. They want to try to push public opinion in favor of removing the police. The police aren’t perfect, but what a police force is, it’s putting force under an objective third party, under government control. Antifa wants to separate the police from the populace.

This is basically guerilla warfare. They’re trying to undermine legitimacy of the state. The police right now, I think some of them are catching up. There’s a playbook for how police respond to riots and they’re not actually doing it; it’s not an actual riot. I mean, it is a riot, but at the same time, it’s a specific type of riot that’s trying to make the police respond in a certain way.

Over the weekend, Antifa interrupted a motorcycle officer engaged in a traffic stop.  They made it possible for the driver to take off and forced the officer to chase him.  Then they tried to block the officer from engaging in pursuit, forcing the officer to knock over one member of the mob.  The reaction was immediate and histrionic.

The officer was on a motorcycle, not in a car, so he was fully exposed to the mob.

This is how The Oregonian reported the incident.

There are other videos of the incident:

We look at this and can’t understand how these people always seem so shocked that when they stand in front of cars, especially cop cars, and then they get driven through.

This is a soccer flop.

They want to get run over or plowed through.  They want to scream bloody murder and act  like “how dare the police officer run me over for standing in his way.”

They know what they are doing and they play it up for social media and the press as a propaganda weapon.

The law needs to be changed to create some Stand Your Ground equivalent to running over protesters who block traffic.  If they want to be run over for clicks than the driver forced into that position should be legally protected from having to do exactly what the mob is baiting him into doing.  Police included.

Next Smoking Challenge: Pork Steaks

We don’t buy pork shoulder because smoking that much piggy meat for two people is dumb. But the “steaks” ? Genius. I can cut the shoulder and freeze the steaks till we need them.

That looks too good not to try. I will post whenever I get some done.

Larry Correia lands in Facebook Jail.

This comment apparently is very bad:

Now, Larry has collected an untold number of enemies in the SciFi Woke/SJW community since the days of the Sad Puppies and they are little assholes that hold grudges almost as long as I do. So I do believe some of them idjits probably reported Larry, bit still it does not make sense as the statement is not that outrageous compared to all the shit being said about the President’s sickness.

And then it struck me: Some asshole in Facebook probably construed Larry’s comments as racist since Rick Moranis’ attacker belongs to the Human Predator Politically Protected Species.

That is my guess anyway, YMMV.

New York Public Radio talks about No Duty to Protect

This was left in our comments and it is absolutely fantastic.

It references a Cracked video I have posted several times before about the case of Joe Lozito and his failed suit against the NYPD.

It also interviewed one of the lawyers in Castle Rock v. Gonzales.

It is 46 minutes long and absolutely worth your time.

It shouldn’t but it still amazes me how many people still are unaware that the police have no duty to respond.

The question the NPR person leading the story keeps asking is: if the police have no special duty to protect, and the rules that create a special duty to protect are so extreme and so narrow, why even have the police at all?

The best part of this comes at the very end.  They interview “Napkin Man” the good samaritan who came to Joe Lozito’s aid after the attack with a handful of napkins to try and stop the bleeding and save his life.

Napkin man didn’t know about no duty to protect until the interview, and he says:

“If this is the case, they… you know, they should free up the gun laws in New York everybody could have their protection.”

It was amazing how quickly he came to that conclusion.

We in the gun enthusiast and concealed carry community know this, but we are the 3.5% of the country who do.

If there is to be any good that comes from all these riots and property destruction, hopefully, a flurry of lawsuits will be filed against police departments that failed to control them, and they will all be dismissed, and as a result, a substantial percentage of Americans will learn the reality of no duty to protect.

If there is anything that will ever make it possible for us to get the holy grail of gun rights, a 50 state national concealed carry reciprocity bill passed into law, it is millions upon millions of Americans coming face to face with the reality that the police have no duty what so every to interceded between you and mob, you are on your own as your last line of defense.

Protesting because it is what the cool kids are doing.

As I posted before, the violent protests have suddenly become more quiet ever since it was revealed that they were affecting the polls against Joe Biden. I believe that it is too little, too late because we are up to the point we simply do not care and everything has become a blur of idiots just raising hell for no reason. Which leads us to a protest in Las Vegas last night.

If you went by what the protesters were saying (or not saying), Jorge Gomez was apparently mowed down by the evil LVMPD on his way to tend the oppressed after buying Skittles and iced tea at the local convenience store (that is sarcasm for those who will fail to get the joke).  A minority murdered by cops and I had not heard about this case? so I searched a bit and found out that Jorge was killed back in June during another “mostly peaceful” protest that ended in police having to used pepper balls. Mr. Gomez was legally Open Carrying and freely exercising both his First and Second Amendment Rights, that is indisputable.  But then he made one mistake that turned the tone of his actions:

He brandished his sidearm.

When the peaceful protest suddenly became turbulent and police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd, Gomez approached officers posted outside the federal courthouse.

One of them fired a nonlethal shotgun round at Gomez to try to back him off, police said. Gomez took off running and when he raised a gun in the direction of police, four Metro officers opened fire, authorities said. Gomez fell to the ground, mortally wounded.

The last minutes of Jorge Gomez’s life

The following are quotes from witnesses working for Las Vegas Sun newspaper and were present during the “peaceful protest.” (Bold are mine)

Police eventually let the crowd turn on Las Vegas Boulevard South. At least 100 remained, continuing the protest while keeping a distance from officers. This continued for another 15 minutes until officers ordered the crowd to disperse. Gomez stood near me on the sidewalk in front of Hennesey’s Tavern. It looked like he was trying to antagonize the police. Some of the other protesters pleaded with him to stop. They told him he was only going to make things worse. One of the protesters physically moved me away from Gomez when they saw he was holding a gun in his hands. — Kelcie Grega

Gomez, open-carrying an assault rifle and a pistol, pushes closer to two black protesters who are facing off with police. Apparently agitated by Gomez’s proximity to them, the protesters turn around and lecture Gomez for not following protocols of a peaceful protest and for being armed.

Gomez leans out from behind a cement pillar, taking cover at the Fremont Street parking garage. His pistol is out and low ready near his right hip. His eyes are fixed on the line of police shrouded in smoke, just yards away.

I told Gomez, “Hey man, you need to holster your weapon or someone is going to get hurt.”

He replied, “I’m not going to holster my weapon when our rights are being threatened”

I responded, almost pleading: “Yeah but, your finger is on the trigger and there’s only one thing that can happen from that point.”

The armed man turns his head slightly and gives a warning, “You need to stop talking to me right now.”— Wade Vandervort

If the statements are true, what we have here was not a member of a minority group mercilessly mowed down by a racist police department, but somebody who appeared to have the intention and actions to actually seek armed violence against cops. That is what the experts call “playing stupid games” and also the reason Gomez’s death did not achieve immediate martyrdom statute with Antifa/BLM and its media support group: Kinda hard to do so when the Media itself provides the evidence against it.

But, Gomez dead is now far enough back in time that it can be used for a night out in town to protest his death to those who may have not even herd about it before. “We are Las Vegas, baby! We can’t be behind on the protest thing!  Let’s make up a fake outrage and hit the streets!” which may or may not have been based on the fact that the family filed a federal lawsuit against LVMPD,  and if they win, they probably will get a nice juicy settlement from the city, right? I know, I am being skeptical of my fellow human being’s righteous intentions.

Who you gonna call?

In case you missed the story, actor Rick Moranis was sucker-punched in NYC this morning.

By this afternoon, the NYPD released a photo of the suspect.

I don’t want to sound like a sarcastic asshole but apparently what it takes for the NYPD to give a fuck about some piece-of-shit hoodlum cold-cocking a Jew on the streets of New York is for the victim to be a beloved celebrity.

Maybe if they did something the first few dozen times it happened, Rick Moranis would have been spared.
