It only took a Pandemic for Ladd Everitt to accept the Insurrectionists.

I almost fainted when I saw this tweet in my feed.

HOLY CRAP!  Old heads will remember when Ladd quoted from a  paper by Carl T. Bogus (not joking, that is the name) titled Heller and Insurrectionism.

The most significant aspect of District of Columbia v. Heller is the Court’s pronouncement that the Founders intended to guarantee an individual right to keep and bear arms. But there is another idea lurking in the Court’s opinion with potentially great ramifications of its own: the idea that the Founders gave us a right to keep and bear arms as an ultimate check against governmental tyranny. This is an insurrectionist theory because it legitimizes a right of the people to be armed, potentially to go to war against their own government.

…this essay is a plea that the Court reconsider its endorsement of insurrectionism.

Ladd latched to this concept for years. You supported the Second Amendment? You were an evil insurrectionists.  and had no issue quoting this paper.

You can go have fun of the exchange LC Soctty had with Ladd and how he defended some very indefensible things. A now retired Gun Blogger went as far as creating  patches commemorating CSGV’s stupidity:

No, they are no longer available and yes, I have mine as a duly “appointed” (By CSGV) insurrectionist.

And you will see it as a joke, but Ladd and his minions got tired of reporting us as dangerous criminals to Twitter and the authorities. Still back then Twitter was not still in the full Soviet shit, Twitter Gulag was in its infancy and shadowbanning was not even a concept. We were hated then as we and you are now.

But it is nice to see Ladd coming around and giving us the proper respect…even if accidentally.

The New York Post is on fire about nursing home deaths

From the New York Post:

Blame governors for the coronavirus deaths in nursing homes: Goodwin

If they are honest, historians judging the American experience during the coronavirus pandemic will excoriate our barbaric failure to protect the elderly. We think of ourselves as civilized, but mindless policies and bureaucratic indifference turned many nursing homes and rehabilitation centers into killing fields.

Holy shit, that is a statement.  One that is entirely accurate too.

At least 28,000 residents and workers in long-term care facilities already have died from the virus, according to a New York Times analysis done more than a week ago. That represented one out of every three COVID-19 deaths recorded in the United States at the time and was likely an undercount because of reporting lags and varying state methods.

New York’s counting methods under Governor Cuomo being the worst and most prone to undercounting.

The states with the most nursing-home deaths, New York and New Jersey, didn’t make the list [states with the highest percentage of deaths in nursing homes] because of so many other deaths, yet more than 10,000 people died in their facilities. The 5,500 nursing-home deaths in New York are more than the total deaths in all other states except New Jersey.

Now is a good time to remind people that Governor Cuomo forced nursing homes to take infected patients and didn’t mandate testing or PPE for nursing home workers.

Florida got the message and implemented a model response. Despite its vast enclaves of long-term care homes, it reported under 750 deaths in them, or slightly more than one for each of its 615 facilities.

But the media has been savaging DeSantis, saying the he has blood in his hands.  This is pure projection.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York and Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey issued almost identical orders in late March requiring nursing homes to accept COVID-19 patients being discharged from hospitals. The orders barred the homes from even asking if the patients had the virus, lest they be discriminated against.

Those politically correct orders quickly became death sentences as infections spread like wildfire.

And yet Governor Cuomo was floated as the guy that might replace Biden as the Dem’s Presidential candidate if Biden’s senility became too obvious.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said his state moved early to protect the elderly because statistics from South Korea showed “that not all age groups were equally at risk” and that most deaths happened to “folks 65 and up.”

Tell me again which party is the party of science, of following the data, and of compassion.  The party of the governor who sent infected elderly into nursing homes full the most vulnerable people to prevent discrimination, or the governor who protected the most vulnerable from harm?

Despite the surging death count, Cuomo defended his directive for more than six weeks. He reversed himself only last Sunday, ruling that patients must test negative before hospitals can send them to nursing homes. Yet he insisted that the initial policy “worked.”

If more than 5,000 dead was success, what would failure look like?

If your heroes are Mao, Che, and Chavez, and your favorite newspaper won a Pulitzer for defending Stalin than yes, killing 5,000 people in a few weeks is a success.

Nursing-home executives, meanwhile, complain privately that Cuomo should have known his mandate would be a killer, but they were never consulted and got no notice before being swamped with infected patients. As one owner put it, long-time residents began “dropping like flies” soon afterward.

These same executives will not go public with their complaints because they fear Cuomo will punish them with fines and take their licenses.

Cuomo absolutely would because he thinks of himself less as Governor than he does Mafia Don.

All the more reason why federal officials with nothing to fear must step in and find the facts. A designated US attorney, for example, could use a grand jury to demand answers about why so many elderly people were put in harm’s way despite the warnings and simple common sense.

Cuomo should be investigated and prosecuted.  So should Governor Murphy.

The Democrats will fight it and say that Trump is doing it just for revenge because they criticized him.

The truth of the enormity that Cuomo and Murphy are responsible for will be buried under mountains of political bullshit.  No one will ever get justice.

I honestly and fervently believe that it is time for a reckoning.  I’m going go start advertising my guillotines in the NY Post.

New York killed the United States and won’t be held accountable for it

The New York Times published an infographic on just how many New Yorkers left New York City during the COVID crisis, and where they traveled to.

In March, the United States Post Office received 56,000 mail-forwarding requests from New York City, more than double the monthly average. In April, the number of requests went up to 81,000, twice the number from a year earlier. Sixty percent of those new requests were for destinations outside the city.

This map of New Yorker destinations matches rates of outbreaks nearly perfectly, with the exception of the New Orleans outbreak, which can be tied to Marti Gras.

The Miami outbreak had almost nothing to do with spring break on a beach and everything to do with New Yorkers bringing the infection to Miami.

Many of the Left, Congresswoman AOC being a prime example, have talked about how poor New Yorkers were the hardest hit by the virus, demonstrating the systemic racism and iniquity of the country.

A plot published in the print edition of the NYT sheds some light on this, nearly one-third of wealthy New Yorkers fled the city to be sick in other locations.

The phrase “rats leaving a sinking ship” comes to mind.

What is so absolutely grotesque about this is that while the media and politicians were clambering for lockdowns, the sheer arrogant ballsiness of New Yorkers to ignore stay-at-home orders and spread the virus outside the city was the cause of most of the problem.

Last week I reported how Hawaiians are not happy about the lockdown.  Yesterday The Guardian reported that a tourist in Hawaii from New York was arrested for violating quarantine and taking pictures of himself on a beach.

New Yorkers believed themselves to be exempt from the rules.

While the New York-based media has been attacking Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for Florida’s COVID deaths, it was rich New Yorkers who brought the virus to Florida and spread it.

This is the same media that gave New York Governor Andrew Cuomo a pass for the near deliberate infection of thousands of nursing home residents with terrible policies, then undercounting those deaths with more terrible policies.

More elderly have died of COVID in New York City nursing homes (4,800 reported) than all COVID deaths in Florida (1,900), yet DeSantis is the bad guy and Cuomo is the hero.

CBS is reporting:

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Sunday addressed the state’s early response to the coronavirus outbreak and said “nobody” should be prosecuted for the those who died, noting that “older people” were most vulnerable.

“Despite whatever you do, because with all our progress as a society, we can’t keep everyone alive,” Cuomo said.

Cuomo continued to stress the point that older and more vulnerable people were “always going to die from this virus.” He said when talking who is accountable for deaths, the most important thing was to make sure “you can have a situation where everyone did the right thing and everyone tried their best.”

New Yorkers spread the virus across America.  Where New Yorkers fled to, outbreaks followed.  New York policy towards treating the infected needlessly killed thousands of elderly and sick people and the Governor who created these policies says nobody will be prosecuted because those people were going to die anyway.  I’m surprised he didn’t end that statement with “fuck ’em.”

To make matters worse, since the COVID Marys who spread the disease are mostly the most upper crust of the NYC population, the movers, shakers, and millionaires who donate big sums to politicians, it is unlikely that anyone else will go after them for what they did to the rest of us.

New York City killed the United States economy and thousands of other Americans with the arrogance of not obeying the quarantine and shelter-in-place they demanded the rest of us.

Forget bailing out New York.  New York should bail out the rest of the United States.

And if Trump wins the election in 2020, he should have the DOJ prosecute Andrew Cuomo, Bill de Blasio and the rest of the NY/NYC government for what they did that murdered thousands of New York’s most vulnerable, tens of thousands of other Americans, and the whole of the American economy.

Miami Herald: We are opening in a failed COVID-19 state so be a Karen.

I have to say I have not been giving my local bird poop catcher enough attention and they show it. Yesterday’s editorial sound more like the complaints of a defeated ex-girlfriend  when she sees you with your beautiful wife walking down the street.

Our advice is cynical, but justifiably so. For long too long, the coronavirus pandemic has been one long trust exercise, one in which just about everyone Floridians looked to for guidance and leadership failed to have our backs.

The Editorial board keeps pushing this narrative because they feel sure it will stick. And it will do so as long as Governor DeSantis is busy dealing with the urgent problems of the state, but I have the feeling that once he gets a chance, the Media won’t be happy with what he has to say.

REPORT VIOLATORS
Rather, residents, workers and businesses bear an even greater responsibility to protect themselves and others around them now that lockdown has ended. Any failure to follow and enforce the county’s well-vetted guidelines means an increase in coronavirus cases, exactly the wrong direction in which to go.

Yes, the Herald wants you to be a Karen. And I bet you anything they will hit us with deep inside pieces of “investigative journalism” showing locales where they found tables separated only 5 feet 11 inches which will guarantee the return of the Black Plague for Miami Dade.  It is the Ex Girlfriend telling anybody your newly acquired wife is a whore and will step out on you before the month is over out of pure spite.

One question for the Miami Herald: Aren’t you guys due for another round of permanent vacations for the newsroom? Inquiring minds want to know.
