Why no Antifa in Florida?

Reader Craig made posted this comment:

I’ll have to go look it up, but I believe (at least in most southern states) that there are laws that you can’t go to a protest gathering wearing a mask. Something about the KKK…….? I think there are exceptions for Halloween, parties and other gatherings.

I had to check Florida’s Statutes regarding masks and they are pretty brutal . In fact, the whole chapter 876 seems to be dedicated to what Antifa is doing without compunction in Portland. Basically 876.12-876.15 says you have no right to travel, move, fart around or even think about wearing a mask in public in the state of Florida. Exceptions made for Holidays, emergencies and work.

876.155 Applicability; ss. 876.12-876.15.—The provisions of ss. 876.12-876.15 apply only if the person was wearing the mask, hood, or other device:(1) With the intent to deprive any person or class of persons of the equal protection of the laws or of equal privileges and immunities under the laws or for the purpose of preventing the constituted authorities of this state or any subdivision thereof from, or hindering them in, giving or securing to all persons within this state the equal protection of the laws;
(2) With the intent, by force or threat of force, to injure, intimidate, or interfere with any person because of the person’s exercise of any right secured by federal, state, or local law or to intimidate such person or any other person or any class of persons from exercising any right secured by federal, state, or local law;
(3) With the intent to intimidate, threaten, abuse, or harass any other person; or
(4) While she or he was engaged in conduct that could reasonably lead to the institution of a civil or criminal proceeding against her or him, with the intent of avoiding identification in such a proceeding.

And the same chapter deals with masked people being terroristic assholes. Florida unfortunately has a bad history when it comes to the Klan and Regulators, but the Legislators did think about the future:

876.03 Unlawful assembly for purposes of anarchy, communism, or other specified doctrines.—Whenever two or more persons assemble for the purpose of promoting, advocating, or teaching the doctrine of criminal anarchy, criminal Communism, criminal Naziism or criminal Fascism, as defined in s. 876.01 of this law, such an assembly or organization is unlawful, and every person voluntarily participating therein by his or her presence, aid, or instigation shall be guilty of a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

That is 15 years in the pen. Basically it seems Florida does not make a difference between Antifa and the Klan which I do believe is very appropriate.

I knew there was a reason why you did not see the boys and girls in black hoodies sprouting down here.

And I almost forgot: We are the Gunshine State. Two million plus with concealed weapons permits (2,021,777 to be specific) and everybody else having them at home or at their business.

Brave New World and the rise of Pride

This year, it seemed like Pride was everywhere.

It’s been growing more and more the last few years, but this year it seemed different.  More over-the-top than ever.

Maybe it was Budweiser doing the full gamut of pride flag cups or Oreo doing a range of pick your pronoun cookies.

Maybe it was because it was the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which has undergone just as much history revision at the hands of Progressives as Thomas Jefferson or the Besty Ross flag, only in the other direction.  We have collectively be told to forget that the Mafia ran the gay bar scene in New York City.  Not just did these bars serve the gay community, they were also places for prostitution and drug trafficking, because the mob was very good at paying off the cops to look the other way.

Maybe it’s all of the above, but I was having a hard time putting my finger on it.

I mean, you’re here, you’re queer, we’re used to it.

Then I had a though.  Please allow me to don my tinfoil hat.

Three books that I remember reading as a student were George Orwell’s 1984, Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, and Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.  Each book described what the author felt was the model for which a tyrannical government would take over and passivate society.  Each book has its merits, but in each book, there was a character that saw through the governments’ charade to the truth beneath.

If one were so inclined to used those three books as a How To guide instead of a warning, one might come to the conclusion that a single model of tyranny doesn’t work.  Borrowing from all three models might.

I think the Venn Diagram, below, borrowed from the internet is probably accurate:

There is a great webcomic that compares George Orwell’s 1984 and Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World.

There is one pannel from that comic that got me thinking.

I mentioned before that I believe 100% that the push by the Democrats to legalize marijuana and in some places, psychotropic mushrooms, is nothing more than Soma straight out of Brave New World.  The far Left has ruined every economy it has ever touched.  Rather than solve economic issues, the far Left would legalize every mind numbing substance the people chose to anesthetize themselves with so that they are unlikely to ever fight back.  When rampant drug use and poverty does lead to violence, it stays in poor communities.  It’s not like the gangs on the South Side of Chicago are robbing and shooting the Democrat elite that run the city.

Instead of panem et circenses it’s EBT and Cannabis.  Same principle, different substance.

So what does this have to do with Pride.

One of the things I saw this year, more than in previous years is the paraphilas  that got lumped in with LBGT.  Puppy Play and Horse Play made a showing, flags and all.  There was a video that was celebrated of a drag kid pantomiming doing ketamine in a club, the same drag kid that danced in a club while adults threw money at him.  There was even some debate if leather and kink should be added to the alphabet soup of LGBT+.

Then there is the push to legalize and destigmatize sex work.  This is something that the LGBT community has that overlaps with the radical feminist Slut Walks, in which women are encouraged to be proud to be sluts.

What does dressing up like an animal for sexual gratification, getting dangerously close to pedophilia, or allow prostitutes to roam our streets have to do with the right of two men to get a slip of paper from the government to file their taxes jointly?

I’m don’t know, but if I assume the Huxley model of control through the infliction of pleasure, this is what I have come up with.

Sexual freedom as an ersatz civil liberty.

Speech codes on college campuses, deplatforming, demonetizing on YouTube, shadow bans, Facebook jail, Twitter suspensions, Google manipulating search algorithms, are all forms of a restriction on freedom of speech.

The Left has gone in whole hog (or Hogg) on calling for gun bans.

If you have the wrong views you can be harassed out of the public square, driven out of your favorite restaurant, and be fired from your job.

The Green New Deal will take your car, limit your ability to travel, and even control the temperature you set your AC.

BUT in the Progressive paradise where you can’t say or think freely and where everything you are allowed to buy is mandated or rationed, you can have all the kinky sex you want.

That is the other anesthesia the Left is going to push onto the masses, judgemental free sex.

This is in stark contrast to what has traditionally been the model of Conservatism, with civil liberties in most areas but favoring strong sexual morality.

The far Left doesn’t really care about gay rights any more than it cares about anybody else’s rights, which is to say not at all.

It is simply a matter of social control.

You will be made into a drone of the state, a cog in the Green Leap Forward, lining the pockets of the Progressive elite, with all of your important rights taken from you.

But you can fill your body with whatever mood altering substances you want and rub your genitals against whatever you want, and that should be enough to pacify you enough to keep you from rebelling.

So instead of panem et circenses it’s EBT, Cannabis, and whores.

Maybe I’m crazy, but it all fits together too well.

My take on the Antifa Guidelnes for the Press.

Done reading J. Kb’s post.

I not only expect that the Media has a bit more brains than usual and avoid this compact but also they need to come out and denounce it loudly, something I have not heard yet.  Why denounce it?

First: Whatever faint patina you ever had left of impartial observers would be forever gone. The business would finally be the joke we all know it to be and die miserably.
Second: You will be part of a criminal conspiracy. If you “accidentally” film Antifa using blunt instruments and killing somebody, your video is now know as evidence. Not turning it to the authorities as per Antifa’s instructions could be construed by police as suppressing/destroying evidence, a felony in all 50 states if I am not mistaken. For us would be fully considered as such and that ain’t too good for you.
Third: Once you are seen as part and parcel of Antifa, any restrains that existed because you are an alleged member of the Press with First Amendment Protections are gone from the public’s perception. You should come out strong also in condemnation of Andy Ngo’s attack and you did not, that one is hanging around your neck and you have not noticed it yet.
Fourth: We make great Flambé milkshakes.

There are no problems with the Califonia Ammunition Background Check System. It is doing what they wanted it to do.

California – -(AmmoLand.com)- The problems encountered since the new ammunition background check system was put into effect on July 1st 2019, have far surpassed what we predicted, and we predicted a train wreck.

The approval process takes over a half hour per customer, instead of the promised two minutes. DOJ is imposing unnecessary and costly requirements on vendors. Countless customers are being turned down by DOJ for lack of ID even if they have a California driver’s license. Law abiding people cannot get ammunition they need for sport or self-defense. Businesses may have to close as a result of this extreme regulatory burden.

Injunction To Be Filed In Lawsuit Challenging California Ammo-Law Train-Wreck

Does anybody actually think that Governor Newsom, his staff, the California Legislature and the Gin Control organizations are actually losing any sleep because the ammo sales are almost but shut down? That they are going to implement immediate fixes to this problem so it works in the timeframe they promised it would work? Yeah, sometime in 2050…maybe.

Not a bug but a feature.

No, they do not deserve equal pay just because they have a vagina and kick a ball.

As Dwight Jaynes pointed out four years ago after the U.S. women beat Japan to capture the World Cup in Vancouver, there is a big difference in the revenue available to pay the teams. The Women’s World Cup brought in almost $73 million, of which the players got 13%. The 2010 men’s World Cup in South Africa made almost $4 billion, of which 9% went to the players.

Revenue Disparity Explains Pay Disparity Between Soccer World Cup’s Men And Women

Lee Iacocca recently passed away. He was involved in the creation of the Mustang line which has brought billions of dollars to Ford through the decades.  With Chrysler, he made the bail out and pushed the concept of the mini van which not only paid the company’s debt but brought another bunch of billions in profit. The Women’s Soccer team demanding “equal pay” is the equivalent of an hourly mechanic at Walmart demanding the same money and  bonuses as Iacocca because changing new set of tires on a pick up truck is being in the Car Industry and he should earn the same.

The New York Post is right about Antifa

Antifa in DC over the 4th of July weekend was handing out flyers to the media telling them how to report on Antifa.

It is clear that Antifa knows that they are doing is criminal and is generally perceived as wrong.  They want to be able to bash and smash but do not want to media to catch them doing it in such a way as to get them in legal trouble.

This is also a direct assault on the First Amendment.  They do not have the right to control how the media reports or what the media captures images of in a public place during a public protest.

From The New York Post:

It’s time for a federal civil rights intervention in Portland

After Ngo was beaten, the police declared a riot. Next time, the riot should be declared the moment hooded antifa protesters show up. But Wheeler won’t let that happen. That would get in the way of antifa’s free-speech rights, he thinks.

Evidently, it’s time for the federal government to step in — and crack down. It has had to do so in the past, especially during the civil rights era in the South.

There’s a federal law against conspiring to injure or intimidate a person in the free exercise of enjoyment of his rights or privileges, and I should think the elements of the offense are complete the moment the antifa goons show up in Portland.

What’s missing is the will to protect ordinary citizens, and since the city of Portland won’t do so, it’s time for federal marshals or the FBI to step in.

I agree, but not just limited to Portland.

If there was ever a time for 18 U.S. Code § 241. Conspiracy against rights it feels like now.

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

I’m pretty sure Anfia using the threat of violence to intimidate reporters from recording and reporting on Antfia actions, which is a Constitutionally protected right, is a violation of § 241.

It’s time for The Fed dot Gov to drop the hammer on Antifa before they drop the crowbar on somebody else.

Now This finds doctors who are happy to break the Goldwater Rule

The American Psychiatric Association implemented a new ethics rule in 1973 as a result of some 12,000 psychiatrists denouncing Republican Candidate Barry Goldwater as crazy just from watching his speeches on TV.

APA’s formal response came in 1973 with the adoption of Section 7.3 in the Principles of Medical Ethics with Annotations Especially Applicable to Psychiatry, which became known as the Goldwater Rule.

The rule applies to public figures and states: “[I]t is unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion unless he or she has conducted an examination and has been granted proper authorization for such a statement.”

The episode and the subsequent adoption of Section 7.3 appear to have dampened the enthusiasm of most APA members for a repeat performance, leaving psychiatric diagnosis to the media.

The far Left wing media site Now This found some new psychiatrists who were happy to violate that ethics rule, not even from watching Trump, but reading about him third hand from the Muller report.

One of the most important lessons I learned from history is that no one is above moral corruption.

Josef Mengele was a prominent doctor, trained in the best medical schools in Germany.

Japanese Unit 731 was also staffed by some of the best doctors in Imperial Japan.

There is nothing about being a medical doctor that makes a person immune from engaging in the ugliest and most vicious behavior for entirely ideological reasons.

I would go so far as to say that such people – smart and highly educated – are more likely to rationalize their engaging in such behavior by saying that they are doing what they are doing for the benefit of others.

Clearly, that is what the people interviewed by Now This are doing.  Throwing away ethics and responsible behavior because of their position and hatred of Trump, they think they are serving society.  Really they are just engaging in TDS with the authority of a lab coat.

Every one of these people should have their license to practice revoked.
