Old News: Race Baiters.

Even back then.

A month later, some of the greatest injustices against Indians would be perpetrated: The killing of Sitting Bull and his people and the massacre at Wounded Knee.

The cult of AOC personality cheering form on function (also it’s antisemitic)

Back in February, I covered how an independent comic publisher, Devil’s Due Comics, created a comic book featuring Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a conquering heroine.

Well, it’s out on shelves now and more art from it has been released.

Moreover, the portrayal of AOC as Wonder Woman has pissed off DC comics causing them to send a cease-and-desist to Devil’s Due.

I am more concerned about some of the special edition cover art of her.

One of the most famous Captain America covers was that of Captain America #1 (1941) of the Captain punching Adolf Hitler.

That comic was written and illustrated by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon, aka, Jacob Kurtzberg and Hymie Simon.

This is what Devil’s Due decided to publish.

Holy shitty-metaphor Batman!!!

So Trump is Hitler, because… why not.

But the heroes AOC and Ilhan Omar are two of the three biggest antisemites in Congress.

So two Jew haters are the heroes punching the most Israeli friendly President in US history on the cover of a comic created, drawn, and illustrated by two Jews.

This is just shit.

Then there was this other illustration that also pissed of DC.

Really?

This is a woman who has consistently shit on America as a racist and unfair place, built on a history of oppression.  Why would she be wrapped in an American flag?

Look, I get it.  She’s attractive, hip, and the “clapback queen” on Twitter.

But what the fuck has she actually done?

I mean get called out for her antisemitism and a ridiculous Green New Deal that got zero votes in the Senate, and cost New Yorkers 25,000 jobs and billions in revenue?

She’s got great form, her function sucks.

What this is most of all is an orgy of evidence of the double standard in politics.  If a comic book was drawn of Trump as Captain America punching Obama – which is pretty much what his economic policy is – we would never hear the end of how terrible that is and how it is the ugliest form of propaganda.

Old News: Direct and fast consequences of disarmament.

Helping with a research of old newspapers, has given me fodder for the Old News series. First thing you may have noticed is that Florida was alive and well and all over the country, plus stuff that no longer exists. Interesting little details of life we don’t usually catch in history books.

And then sometimes, when you are not expecting it, you get slapped with a dose of reality:

The consequences of disarmament were immediate and fatal.

Why I don’t want to live in Israel

I am a supporter of Israel.  We Jews deserve a homeland in which we live self-governing, and not at the mercy of anyone else.

Israel is our historic homeland, where we Jews have had a continual presence for over 5,000 years.

Just because I support Israel, doesn’t mean I want to live there.

This is one reason why.

Girl firepower: IDF vet ‘Queen of guns’ praises US firearm laws as ‘best in the world’

Orin Julie, an IDF veteran known on social media as self-styled ‘Queen of guns’ has said she is jealous of US firearm laws. She decried the tight gun legislation in her native Israel.

Julie told the Daily Caller that the US has the best gun laws in the world and has shared her frustration that, despite her years of active duty with the Israel Defense Forces, she is unable to legally own a firearm as a civilian back in her native Israel.

That is true.  Unless you live in one of the ocupied terriritores, Israel has very strict gun control.

Pistol permits are only available to those with prior service who have achieved the rank equivalent to Sergeant or a NATO E-5.

This is to keep guns out of the hands of ordinary Israeli citizens who only do the mandatory two-year term of service.

Even during the knife Intifada, where Israel relaxed its gun laws, it didn’t relax them to anything close to an American standard.

You would think that in a nation, conceived from the ashes of the Holocaust, born in war, invaded at least once a decade, and surrounded on all sides by terrorists and enemies, that Israel would encourage an armed citizenry.

No, for reasons I cannot fathom – probably the combination of the cultures of Jewish immigrants who had been Europeanized and Mandate Jews who lived under Dhimmi status under Arab control – Israel does not have the gun rights or gun culture that America does.

With mandatory service for all Jews (except the Ultra-Orthodox), if Israel comes under sufficient enough attack, they just call up every Jew who served under the age of 40 back into service.

The idea of a rifleman behind every blade of grass is not an Israeli idea, which is odd because the Haganah was a volunteer militia force, not terribly unlike our own Minute Men.

Never the less, this is how the Israelis are, which is why I don’t want to live there.  As someone who never served in the IDF, it would be impossible for me to be a legal gun owner in Israel.  Frankly, that is unacceptable.

I prefer my rights as a Jew in America, which is why Democrat antisemitism worries me so.  I really want to stay a Jew in America with my rights.

Switzerland, I feel your pain

From the BBC:

Gun-loving Swiss asked to toughen laws or risk EU tension

I don’t have to read any more than that to say, fuck the EU.

That’s a general principle, by the way.  Fuck the EU.

Switzerland is not a member of the EU, but is part of the Schengen open-border treaty.

After the 2015 Paris attacks in which 130 people died, the EU issued Schengen members with new restrictions on automatic and semi-automatic weapons.

And just how many of the guns used in the Paris attack came from Switzerland?

Zero.

They were smuggled in from the Middle East.  Do you know how we all know that?  They were AK-47’s and not SIG SG 550s’.

The EU hopes the rules will help police in Schengen countries.

Exactly how?

That’s right, I won’t.  It will only restrict the last remaining gun rights in the Europeans states that still have them.

These states now work together and share information on a daily basis, to establish where weapons used in crimes came from.

Where they came from is the Middle East and North Africa in the backpacks and suitcases of Islamic refugees from war-torn countries.

Sweden is having a problem with grenade attacks.   Grenades.  Those are not being brought in from Switzerland.  Those are coming in from Syria and Iraq on foot through Turkey.

But the proposals have raised hackles in Switzerland, which has a long, and for many Swiss, proud tradition of gun ownership. After Swiss men complete their obligatory military service, they are permitted to keep their assault rifles.

There are gun clubs in every town and village, and target-shooting is a hugely popular sport.

The Swiss have contributed nothing to the terrorism in Europe, which has gone up 725% in the last 10 years.

Maybe it is a coincidence, but the two nations in Europe with the most permissive gun laws and strongest Nationalist culture, the Swiss and the Czech, are the two have had no Islamic terrorist attacks.

Swiss law does require gun owners to have a permit, but getting one is relatively easy.

Easy by European standards.

Support for this relaxed approach is, says Beat Bösiger, a farmer and parliamentary candidate for the right-wing Swiss People’s Party, all based on government trust in gun owners, and the responsibility of the gun owners themselves.

“There is no reason for these new laws,” he said. “It would be a breach of trust. We Swiss, we know how to handle weapons.”

Mr Bösiger has a point. Despite the millions of weapons in homes across Switzerland, the overall crime rate is low.

Gun crime is higher in Switzerland’s neighbours. Nevertheless, there are some indicators that easy access to weapons is not entirely positive for Switzerland.

Prove the guns came from Switzerland and then maybe there is something to talk about.  Considering that it is easier for a terrorist to get on a train, go to Turkey, walk into an open arms market, buy an Iraqi AK, and get back on the train and go to Paris than it is to buy an SG 550 in Switzerland is an important consideration

“The new restrictions are not about destroying Swiss tradition or culture,” insisted Ronja Jansen of pro-disarmament group Switzerland without an Army.

“It’s about bringing Switzerland to a safer place, where there is not as much gun violence as there is now. There are a lot of guns in Switzerland in private homes, and that is a real problem.”

No, Switzerland has a very low crime rate.

Just look at London.  There have been so many stabbing in that city, that you have to be 21 to buy a box of plasticware.  The police are confiscating spoons.

That hasn’t reduced the crime one iota.

It’s not that the EU is worried about crime, it’s that the EU hates any whiff of freedom.  The EU is picking on the Swiss because they have guns, that’s it.

And I feel the pain of the Swiss.  This is the same motivation that causes politicians in New York and California to attack Texas and Alabama (and elsewhere) for their gun rights.

They will never live here.  They may visit us one as tourists.  But the knowledge that we have a right that they don’t like means that they are going use everything in their power to snuff it out.

Gun control is statist cancer that metastasises and spreads, killing civil rights wherever it grows.

Trayvon’s Mom will try politics next.

Fulton announced Saturday that she would launch her campaign for the District 1 seat, which will be relinquished in 2020 by the term-limited Commissioner Barbara Jordan. Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert is also running for the seat, one of five up for grabs after Miami-Dade voters approved a two-term limit for the 13-member board in 2012. Miami Gardens is the biggest city in District 1.

Fulton, who plans to formally announce her run on Monday, campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016. She has said she is not anti-gun but promotes gun-control measures that would tighten background checks and restrict private gun sales.

“Our county must continue moving forward so our families are safe from violence, can afford to live in Miami-Dade, and have access to good paying jobs,” she said in her statement. “I am ready to take on these issues and many others in county government.”

Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin, will run for Miami-Dade County Commission

The milking of Trayvon by his family continues. I want to see what ha[[ens in November because I don’t really think she has the backing of the Democrats and unless Bloomberg shoves some money her way, I don’t see her advancing. That she is promising “gun-control measures that would tighten background checks and restrict private gun sales” is pure press-release bullshit because Florida has State Preemption and the Miami-Dade Commission can pass ordinances till it gets blue in their collective faces and they mean only they will have to pay a fine out of their own pockets.

Maybe is more about Pocket Service than Public Service.
