It has come to this: Student Protection Act.
(a) No funds appropriated pursuant to any provisions of law may be used for any educational institution which punishes a student as a result of any of the following actions by the student:
(1) brandishing a pastry or other food which is partially consumed in such a way that the remnant resembles a gun;
(2) possession of a toy gun which is two inches or less;
(3) possession of a toy gun made of plastic snap together building blocks;
(4) using a finger or hand to simulate a gun;
(5) vocalizing imaginary firearms or munitions;
(6) wearing a T-shirt that supports Second Amendment rights;
(7) drawing a picture of, or possessing an image of, a firearm; or
(8) using a pencil, pen or other writing utensil to simulate a firearm.via Bill Text – 113th Congress (2013-2014) – THOMAS (Library of Congress).
I am not a great fan of “There ought to be a law” and that we must resolve to a bill in congress to rescue some semblance of common sense, makes anybody with common sense a bit depressed.

Go GIGO with the Gun Geo Marker.
Disclaimer: I do not own a smart phone and the closest I have been to an app is what SWMBO downloads in her Kindle.
So there is this app called the Gun Geo Marker which is supposed to be downloaded (No idea if it even has a price) and the user will mark with it whenever he sees a gun owner is unsafely using a firearm. At least that is the press-release version although they are not so clear in their instructions:
Knowing how big of panty-bunchers Gun Control activists are, we can expect that the simple suspicion of somebody owning a gun will be enough for them to mark a location. And let’s face it, it will be mostly suspicion for one reason: Outside a gun range, how many people are out there on the street or in front of their houses cleaning a firearm or manipulating one in any way, shape or form? Outside some blessed rural areas, nobody displays a firearm unless it needs to be displayed. So basically this app is ripe to use a stool of speculation and fear-mongering which suits me fine for my “evil” plans.
Garbage in, garbage out (GIGO) the axiom that faulty data fed into a computer will result in distorted information.
Now, what would happen if thousands of Gun Owners were to use that app to point out where people with guns visit every day? This app is nothing more than “ZOMG! I think I saw somebody with a gun at my local Starbucks/pedi-many/Panera! EVERYBODY MUST AVOID PLACE!” If you happen to add location where you see people armed or know that are armed such as Security Guards at a bank of jewelry or Police Officers driving down the highway…..well, I am guessing by now you get the idea. Garbage In → Garbage Out = Garbage App.
Do not forget to mark the locations of your favorite Anti Gun politicians as they surely have guns stashed for their own protection and we can be assured they do not know how to use them. They are palpable dangers to society.
If the app actually costs money, I would not spend one cent on it though. Save it for ammo.
Just my two 125 gr. opinion.

The current ‘Gun control’ push: A cop’s eye view by Massad Ayoob
The bottom line is, when you hear someone say “The police want to ban these guns/magazines/transfers between law-abiding private citizens” … don’t believe it. Anyone who actually works with the cops on the street knows that the great majority of them want to enforce existing laws on genuine criminals, not criminalize the law-abiding citizens they’ve sworn an oath to protect and serve.

Good read…. and pass it to your friends that still believe what the Other Side says.
Machine Guns: Not for Rednecks anymore.
When visitors show up next month for Wynwood’s monthly “Art Walk,” they’ll find a newcomer to the chic street scene: Lock & Load Miami, a slate-gray and bright-orange big-box shooting range — where, for $575, a customer can pull the trigger on Uzis, machine guns and other exotic firearms similar to those used by SWAT and special-ops teams.
We know that Full Auto firearms are not for those with tight budgets but this range apparently is aiming at the Brie and Wine crowds that spend a lot of time watching paint splatters on a canvas going “Hmmm” and have enough disposable income.
If it makes them happy and the owner makes money, good luck and have fun.
