Apparently this is an old campaign but I just heard about it a while back. Sad part, we don’t have the posters but we already have the cameras in lots of major public transportation systems. One more reason I dislike to use it.

Declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal. Hey! We did it to the Communist Party, and the NRA has led to the deaths of more of us than American Commies ever did. (I would also raze the organization’s headquarters, clear the rubble and salt the earth, but that’s optional.) Make ownership of unlicensed assault rifles a felony. If some people refused to give up their guns, that “prying the guns from their cold, dead hands” thing works for me.

I understand that Donald Kaul, the writer of this piece might have been under the influence when he penned it. But I would like to know what was the mental state of the editors at The Des Moines Register when they decided to publish it.
And no, I don’t think Mr Kaul was kidding, he is not the first idiot demanding the NRA and its members to be treated as terrorists. Do remember that once you grab the tiger by the tail, you still have to deal with the rest of the animal.
This is as close as any of the Gun Control groups has come to support the new AWB ban. Nobody yet has come forward and publicly give it 100% support probably because we are talking about political toxicity levels that may require EPA Superfunding to clean.
