Apparently it is not enough for him to wait for elections to see if he can recover his post, but he is suing in Federal Court.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) – Scott Israel has filed a federal lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Senate following his removal from office as Broward sheriff.
The lawsuit was filed on Friday by attorneys Ben Kuehne and Stuart Kaplan for what they described as their client’s “illegal removal from office in violation of due process.”
A statement issued Saturday by the Kuehne’s office reads, “The lawsuit seeks Sheriff Israel’s reinstatement on the grounds that the Florida Senate’s removal decision was purely partisan even though Governor DeSantis was shown to have no valid reason for the removal from office.”

Did he hear something coming out of the Broward Democratic Machine about his “re-election” that he did not like? Or is it simply to get free advertising from the media? Or even both?
I would not be surprised that he considers himself a bigger victims than the kids his deputes allowed to get killed in Parkland for such is the way of the asshole.
The only question was, did Governor DeSantis have the right to fire him? And for the Florida Legislature to confirm the firing?
If so, Mr. Israel can sit on it and spin.
Since the Florida Supreme Court found no problem with the firing, I do believe, unless they get an Obama judge, the Feds will tell Scott the same thing.
And I do believe that his rep in the Broward County area, now that the truth has come out, is low enough to not get him reelected. Hopefully.
Every parent who lost a kid (or kids) thanks to this pus-filled anal cyst should be looking to sue the hell out of him. Individually or as a group.
Same with the school board of Coward County and that a-hole Runcie too.
And while on the subject of the Parkland brouhaha, Gov. DeSantis needs to roll back ASAP all those stupid “gun control” laws that dbag Rick Scott let thru, which turned out to be completely unnecessary (see the Parkland Shooting Investigation results), being just another power overreach courtesy of the local DemonKKKrats and their pet RINOs..
DeSantis can’t roll back a law. That is a job for the Legislature.
Dang.
His usefulness to the cause is likely at an end.
At this point, he’s just another old white guy. And there’s plenty of those around.
