If you do find yourself in the riot zone after sundown, don’t get separated from your platoon.  That’s why Rittenhouse got in the sh!t, and this guy looked solo, too, before the shots.

Man… – NEW JOVIAN THUNDERBOLT

I am going to go ahead and suggest that the counter-protesters went to Portland with a CCW mentality that is fine for everyday peaceful working, but sucks in the battle zone.

And Portland is a battle zone.

So, I have to go and start you guys with two of the other rules for a gunfight:

1. Have a gun.
1.1 Preferably, have at least two guns.

All additional rules are supplemental to that first rule.

2. Bring all of your friends who have guns.
2.1 Preferably, they will all have at least two guns.

There is a reason that cops and soldiers go out in numbers. And even snipers travel with a spotter in charge of security: No matter how much, you cannot cover 360 degrees 24/7.

If you choose to exercise your First Amendment rights in an enemy or contested zone, do so smartly and in company.

  1. Good advice. But while your first amendment rights are absolute, it’s entirely at your discretion whether to exercise them at any particular place and time. Before you do, consider the risks and whether you really want to run those risks.
If the answer is “yes” then definitely apply the rules Miguel mentioned.

    1. The kid can be understood better in the context that he was enthusiastic about giving aid to the injured and wasn’t experienced enough to realize he was getting separated from his backup. Rookie troops make mistakes….In a true combat situation, he would have been chewed out afterwards by his squad leader but then also noted for keeping his head and getting back to his people in one piece.

  2. Isn’t it interesting that anyone who isn’t an Antifa/ BLM scumbag is called “ right-wing” by the left-wing propaganda
    media. Usually “ Extreme right-wing.”

    1. Anything to the right of Joseph Stalin is considered “extreme” right wing…and of course they still use the European standard for political freedom which shows the far left as communism and the far right as fascist/nazi, with relative freedom only residing in the middle between the two (i.e. moderates). This scale has of course been replaced by the Amercan scale in which anarchy (rule of the one/no government) is on the extreme right while communism is on the extreme left with fascist/nazi rule being slightly to the right of communism and such things as the divine right of kings/ serfdom, etc falling in to line as differing versions of tyranny.

  3. And spare ammo. Don’t forget spare ammo.

Preferably, you and your friends will also have some interchangeability re loaded magazines … something to coordinate ahead of time.

  4. Standard load out is 6 30rd mags per AR. And as many pistol mags as you can carry. I only carry two spare mags for my CCW but there are times when I wish I could carry more without my pants landing with a clang.

Hey, I’m old and fat and that belt doesn’t hold my pants up as well as it use to. Last time I weighed my EDC (pants, belt, stuff in pants and on belt, stuff in ankle blow out kit, I think it was around 10 pounds, pistol and mags being 3 1/2 lbs of that).

As they say, no soldier every came out of combat saying “I had to much ammo”

  5. During CCW class, the instructor played a video of two world-class pistol shooters. The interviewer asked them what they’d carry if they KNEW they would be getting into a fire fight later.

    Both answered: “A rifle”.

  6. 6 mags wont last long in a riot….unless theres 10 or 20 buddies with ya. Mr Therefore, sounds like you need a new belt heh heh. .. gotta give that kid credit- he went there alone. Brave but mega dumb.
