Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. Yeah, that’s not gonna play well with the Cubans… This dude just handed his next electoral opponent a glorious advertisement.

  2. Deaths? A few, I think.

Neo-Nazis and white supremacists? We can deal with a 7 of them.

    Eejit!

  3. Let’s see, haven’t a number of “Marxists,” Communists, and other Socialist movements officially titled themselves “Democratic Socialists” including Hugo Chavez? Not to forget that the Fascists broke off from the Italian Socialists, and that NAZI is an acronym for German National SOCIALIST Workers Party. But yeah, Democratic Socialism hasn’t hurt any one?

  4. “You get a moron that says Socialism has not killed anybody.”

    RME

I highly recommend the SoFla Cuban community send this DemonKKKrat moron (redundant wording, I know) a free 1-way ticket to that “wonderful socialist utopia” in South America. See what he thinks then.

  5. Excuse me? What the actual fuck?
Guy need to go back to history class… Who elected this moron and who’s allowing him to remain in office? What a chump.

  6. Ho-lee. Crap.

First, socialism is responsible for north of 170 MILLION deaths in the 20th century. Between Russian pogroms, Chinese mass-executions, Cambodian death marches, and yes, Nazi extermination camps, socialist governments have murdered more of their own citizens than all the world’s murders, homicides, and war deaths, COMBINED.

Second, false dichotomy. It’s not a binary choice between “Democratic Socialism” and “Neo-Nazi white supremacy”. Condemning one doesn’t automatically condone the other. (Besides which, one grew from the other, so they’re really mostly the same.) There are myriad other systems by which to run a government and a nation — for example, a Constitutional Republic, which is a foreign concept to guys like Rep. Smith despite living in one right now — so it is possible, however outlandish it may seem, to condemn both.

Just once, I’d like to see the response on the House floor include a lecture encompassing those points. Make the history-lesson-slash-verbal-beatdown part of the official legislative record.

But that would require a Republican with both morals and a spine … so it’ll never happen.

Socialism, even “Democratic Socialism”, is a terrible idea, and as with all terrible ideas it will live forever unless challenged. Like any weed or invasive species, it’s extremely difficult to get rid of once it takes root, but the alternative — letting it grow unchecked until it takes over your land — is unconscionable.

    1. Perhaps Representative Jagoff could tell how to differentiate “real socialists/socialism”, from faux (ibid) when both claim to be “democratic socialists”.

Uh, *No Difference”, for $400, Alex?

The reply to that is usually to call the person asking the question a racist.

  7. His punishment should be to stand in Domino Park on Calle Ocho without a bodyguard and defend socialism to all the old Cubans. Whatever happens after that happens.
