You may have seen already this panel where some overly self-steemed liberal goes on a rant mocking Trump and his voters with the laughing bkessings of CNN”s host Don Lemon.
It is not that CNN has enough problems with credibility and ratings (Cartoon Network constantly does better than the News channel) but the GOP came out with a very nice and very effective ad using that little bit of pretentious stupid to reinforce the base and possibly even adding a voter or two for November
Once more: Philosophy is not Strategy.
I’ve said it before but I think the reason why Trump has such unwavering support from his base and the vein of America that he “tapped into” during the runup to 2016 was that people are tired of being talked down to by the self proclaimed “elites”. They’re tired of politicians like Barack Obama lecturing them on why they’re bad people for not wanting bullshit policies rammed down their throats. They’re tired of being told that their life decisions are racist by media ass hats when race never played a part in their decision making.
Trump came along and talked down to those same politicians, celebrities and news personalities that, for decades, have been talking down to regular people. Trump isn’t eloquent about it, he just talks down to them in the same way they have talked down to everyone for decades. It’s why Ricky Gervias became so popular after the Golden Globes this year and it’s why the elites hate anyone that talks down to them so f’ing much, especially if the ones talking down to them used to be at their cocktail parties.
