Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. Whilst Franz Ferdinand was no pacifist, his primary concern was that the k-u-k Armee should be an effective fighting force, not a place for noble families to dump incompetent younger sons. Tragically, WWI provided empirical proof that he was right.

      1. I have a real journalism degree and am a thesis shy of a Master’s. Worked at newspapers (no truth that I killed three afternoon newspapers singlehandedly), magazines (all now bankrupt) and online sites. The AP were the most arrogant folks this side of surgeons and Formula 1 drivers. Yet most didn’t know a burglary from a robbery. The Guns of August illustrates how all sides manipulated a lapdog media. At least the book, which is a hard read and from the PoV of generals so not as trustworthy as one from PoV of grunts or spooks, showed me that Princip no more “started” that war than the guy waving the green flag starts the Indy 500: They were all ready to kill each other long before the assassination.
