Dwight left what he thought to be a rather smart and scathing comment about how my blog (emphasis in “mine”) is disappointing him because I do not cover what he wants:

Virtually all of the political garbage that is covered here is of no interest to me. I enjoy reading about gun issues and was originally attracted to the blog because of its title. But the more I stick around the more I see that it’s not so much guns but the politics of guns…and just plain politics…that you all are into here. If the issue doesn’t fit into your politics or once it falls out of your narrative, you don’t like to spend time on it. Which, of course, was my point with my initial comment that pointed out Miguel’s stunning lack of self awareness.

Your implication that if you can drum up more money from your readers, you’ll be able to do more google searches is as transparently insincere as it is ridiculous.

I’m not a troll. I’m genuinely interested in discussing guns and gun issues. Excuse me for point out the obvious that the Baca shooting is a damn good case study in the use of deadly force for those who are interested in such things rather than what Alyssa Milano or antifa is up to today. Which, strangely, you and your co-writer apparently have all the time in the world to write about.

I actually wrote all this as a reply to his comment, but I figured I should not waste it and use it as post fodder

“Virtually all of the political garbage that is covered here is of no interest to me.”
Yet, you keep coming. Masochism?

” I enjoy reading about gun issues and was originally attracted to the blog because of its title.”
I told the people in marketing that it would work… and it did!

“But the more I stick around the more I see that it’s not so much guns but the politics of guns…and just plain politics…that you all are into here.”
Once again: My blog, my rules. Why is this such a difficult concept to understand?

” If the issue doesn’t fit into your politics or once it falls out of your narrative, you don’t like to spend time on it.”
I am also not into the politics West Coast Midget Clown Porn or the sociological differences between brown and white eggs, so no, I am not going to delve into it.

“Which, of course, was my point with my initial comment that pointed out Miguel’s stunning lack of self awareness.”
I already have a wife to nag on me and I bet you are much less fun in bed. Reasons enough to ignore your sad ministrations.

“Your implication that if you can drum up more money from your readers, you’ll be able to do more google searches is as transparently insincere as it is ridiculous.”
So is your bitching. I guess you finally processed the sarcasm?

“I’m not a troll.”
Opinions vary
(Name the movie)

” I’m genuinely interested in discussing guns and gun issues.”
There is a great variety of blogs and sites that carry AK v AR, 9mm v .45 and Glock v 1911. plus the assorted variety of Chest Thumping masturbators. Feel free to visit them and save your time coming here.

“Excuse me for point out the obvious that the Baca shooting is a damn good case study in the use of deadly force for those who are interested in such things”
Are you a lawyer? I already made my opinion clear and I reckon I don’t need to repeat myself 3 times a week just to make you happy. There is nothing much to do but watch the trial and actually check out what Andrew Branca will discuss about it. I am sure he might do analysis of it much better than me or J. Kb can do. He did a phenomenal job with the Zimmerman trial.

“rather than what Alyssa Milano or antifa is up to today. Which, strangely, you and your co-writer apparently have all the time in the world to write about.”
Once again: My blog, my rules. I write what I want about and I don’t owe you a darned thing. You are not entitled to forcing me to write what you want, you may think you do, but it may get sporty if you present that idea to me in real life.

There is the door. Good-bye.

Spread the love

  1. It would seem that there are yet those who still do not understand the connectivity of subjects such as far left activists such as Alyssa Milano or antifa and how these two examples relate to Guns and the Second Amendment.
To use a term the left seems to understand, gun rights, more precisely the dangers to gun rights, are connected–intersectionally–with the left and their seemingly unending propaganda intended to convince the ignorant masses of the need to strip citizens of their guns and rights.
We can not have a discussion of gun rights and the idiocy of creating zones that are gun free without exploring the antics, agenda, and motivation of those seeking to create gun free zones and a disarmed America. Therefore I will continue to read Miguel and JKB first, before any other of my morning reads.

    1. This. It’s always been why I find this site informative and entertaining, and why I’ve been a reader for years. It’s also been relatively free of trolls, which isn’t the case with most other sites. Keep on keepin’ on, guys.

  2. And the Flounce scores from the judges are coming in now…

5…4…5…3…and a 1 from the Russian judge! This was at best an average-level flounce, I don’t expect to see it making the podium. He needs to brush up on proper technique and flourishes, perhaps we’ll see a better effort after some facebook practice.

  3. Wait, are we getting paid to please our readers? Can I renegotiate my salary?

Don’t make me unionize this operation like Buzzfeed.

  4. Is his scroll button broken? Does he not know that you’re not here to cater to him specifically?

I mean, maybe if he was so interested in your commentary on the Baca shooting, he should have fired off an email and let you know there was a followup to the case, and you probably would have. Instead, he decided to castigate you for not *gasp* commenting on a case from two solid months ago?

    Bad form, Dwight, old chap.

  5. Okay, first, Miguel, if anyone ever drives me to get a waterproof (or in this case, diet Dr. Pepper-proof) keyboard, it’s probably gonna be you:
I already have a wife to nag on me and I bet you are much less fun in bed.
(PSA: that stuff really burns, but it does at least as good of a job as NeilMed sinus rinse.)

To Dwight, here are some specific recommendations:
    – TheFirearmBlog – they have a general “no politics” policy, but sometimes they bend that because – as pointed out above – politics have a big influence on how, where and when one can enjoy a firearms-related hobby
    – AR15.com – lots of chaff, but some good wheat there too, especially if you like MSRs of both “R” and “K” variety
    – M4Carbine.net – not as slick as AR15.com, but the wheat-to-chaff ratio is higher imo

    You’re welcome.

  6. The Baca shooting? You covered the shooting. He was arrested. Then the charges were dropped. What else is there to say?

  7. “I already have a wife to nag on me and I bet you are much less fun in bed. Reasons enough to ignore your sad ministrations.”

I almost choked on my coffee to keep from spitting it all over my keyboard! Love that line!

  8. Dear Miggy and JKB: I love your blog and have been following for years, since way before JKB joined the team. My only advice is this: Keep on doing what you are doing, your blog is my favorite blog.
    …and, I need a beer-proof keyboard now…
PS: it’s been a while since I sent a few bucks via PayPal…. I think I will send some more when I get back home…
    Just saying…

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
