Sen. Joe Negron’s bill restricts using drones to preventing imminent danger to life or serious damage to property.
The bill also makes police get a search warrant before using a drone to collect evidence. An exception would be a credible threat of terrorist attack
via Florida state Senate passes anti-drones bill | Fox News.
Drone season will be open as soon as the Governor signs the bill. OK, maybe not, but it is a good first step. Here is the text of the bill.
We lost the drone argument when we allowed red light cameras.
“An exception would be a credible threat of terrorist attack.”
Aaaaaand every crime under the sun will be categorized under “terrorist attack”.
Exaggeration aside, they *will* whip out the terrorist attack card to justify the use of drones in whatever situation they damn well please.
That is the risk…. also they have to make a clear case that it is terrorism or face civil trial.
A first good step, nothing more.
Not true, with the NDAA all they need is to suspect you of terrorism, they need to evidence and no trial to issue a kill order.
