The Not–So-Smart Gun company supposedly had intentions to buy the old Remington Firearms from Freedom group. However the info i keep getting is not to fret as the story is BS and that it was possibly concocted by somebody from the Opposition to raise hell among gun owners.  Apparently the monetary offer given was actually so laughable that knowledgeable people think it was just some sort of misinformation on their part to either put pressure somewhere or on somebody else and for other purposes. Maybe an intro in some California or NJ market that needs the approval of certain politicians?

My take? We won’t see RFID implanted in any Remington Product anytime soon.

  1. Even if the offer was serious, Smart gun technology isn’t ready for prime-time, even in “Sporting Guns” like the Rem 700.

So even if they BOUGHT Freedom Group, they’d probably run it into the ground and sell it at a loss pretty darn quick.

So let ’em! It won’t hurt Freedom Group in the long run, and it WILL hurt anybody who attempts to foist “Smart Guns” on the people.

Smart Guns, like Smart Cars, are anything but!

  2. One would think that with a background in business and legions of “journalists” at his disposal, Michael Bloomberg would know how to do a better PR stunt than that…
