Small, almost undetectable by conventional anti-aircraft measures and delivers a payload with decent precision? And now imagine the same configuration, but as smart weapon sneaking in a non-straight access target and detonating.

  1. Cool use of available tech, and a good lesson in adaptability.
But isn’t Hobby Lobby more geared to knitting and kitsch than to RC toys? (Hobby shops as I think of them don’t seem to be a thing around here… but they’re mostly no longer a thing in Silicon Valley, either, having long since been driven out by higher-value businesses.)

  2. Four months ago I would have said commercial drones would never work against a first world army, especially one like Russia which has always led radio and electromagnetic spectrum warfare. No way would this work against Russia.

Then we all saw the mighty Russian Military Machine in action. Now I ask, “Would we be in any better shape?”

    1. Today’s WSJ had a piece (op-ed? news article? I forget) saying that the Russians tried electronic warfare early in the invasion, but discovered it knocked their own comms and satellite navs out of service. Which meant the defenders — who know their way around the area — could easily take out the attackers, who were getting lost and out of touch with their commanders. Nice.

And yall should check out a Hobby Lobby… lots of stuff to aid “discerning minds” oh , Russia? The military might that drinks the hydraulic fluid cause it has vodka in it… THAT russia??

    1. No hydraulic fluid doesn’t have vodka in it. What the Russians did do, however, was fill the radiators in tanks and other vehicles with ethanol, which was provided as antifreeze, and then got underneath the vehicles at night, pretending to do “maintenance”, and drained the radiators to drink the contents. I can’t imagine being desperate enough to get drunk that I would consume anything that had been circulating in an engine’s cooling system, but……..

  4. I remember an FSP RUSSIA video where he had a big drone with a machinegun on it and in the end he flew it into the back window of a car and blew it up
