From CNN:
Pro-Trump mob storms US Capitol as armed standoff takes place outside House chamber
Supporters of President Donald Trump have breached the US Capitol as lawmakers attempted to count the Electoral College votes certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s win, and an armed standoff is taking place outside the House of Representatives.
Shortly after 1 p.m. ET hundreds of pro-Trump protesters pushed through barriers set up along the perimeter of the Capitol, where they tussled with officers in full riot gear, some calling the officers “traitors” for doing their jobs. About 90 minutes later, police said demonstrators got into the building and the doors to the House and Senate were being locked. Shortly after, the House floor was evacuated by police.

So what comes next?
Confiscatory gun control?
Mass arrests?
Jackbooted face-stamping?
They are not going to get the Antifa in Portland treatment.
The Democrats are going to control both houses of Congress and the Whitehouse.
There is no way that they are going to just let this slide.
All I know is what comes next as retribution is going to suck.
It is a new year so… have you checked the Gun Free Zone Forum?
Gunfreezone Discourse – Where members of gunfreezone.net connect (All welcome)
Other than the very basic rules of discourse in polite society, it is a place for the readers to talk their piece. Still young, so we need more bodies, but so far I can’t complain about the quality of interventions.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc and others will be tightening restrictions as we get officially tagged with the unerwünscht label. Parler, MeWe and other new alternatives are like stadiums, but think about our forum as your local pub or cafe where you are a regular patron.
OK, no more excuses. git! 🙂
No they are not, we are
From the New York Post, written by Jason Rantz, who I normally like.
Democrats are now paying the price for empowering Antifa
Antifa wishes you a happy — or rather, angry and anarchic — New Year.
Over the New Year holiday, far-left rioters in Portland firebombed police. In Seattle, a marauding group of “activists” terrorized businesses. And their counterparts in San Francisco vandalized Nancy Pelosi’s home and left a bloody pig’s head at the House speaker’s door.
Unless leaders in blue states and cities get serious about repressing Antifa, the radical brutality that disfigured 2020 will extend into 2021.
They also drove Ted Wheeler from his condo and did more than $2 billion in damage to mostly Blue cities.
A cynic might wonder if Antifa was a useful tool for mainstream liberals, since the group’s fiery mischief served to underscore how America under President Trump had spiraled into chaos. Whatever the motivation for empowering Antifa, now is the time to disempower it.
Too late. The incontrovertible evidence is that Leftist political violence wins. The offenders get what they want. They got the police defended. They got money from GoFundMe and other sources. At most some offenders got slaps on the wrists, but mostly they went unpunished.
Antifa, to be clear, doesn’t want reform. It seeks the abolition of police and prisons — of the state as such.
But that’s not all. The group also rejects private property, borders, free speech and self-defense. These loosely aligned anarchists and Marxists, in other words, abhor the basic principles of the democratic West. And they have no qualms about using violence to advance their agenda. Your average activist doesn’t leave a severed pig’s head outside the home of the House speaker. That’s the work of a committed extremist.
If Nancy has to have one of her illegal immigrant house keepers clean some blood off her stoop, thats the price she has to pay to win big with Antifa’s help. Notice how she didn’t complain.
At any rate, words will go nowhere. Only a harshly decisive and punitive response from the state will stop Antifa. For that to happen, the politicians who turned a blind eye last year will have to let police forces do their jobs. And they must convince prosecutors, who are releasing Antifa members without charge, to dole out charges and convictions. That won’t be easy.
They won’t do it. It’s too beneficial to them so they will let it slide. If a little sloshed over onto Democrats, well… omelet and eggs and the cost of doing business and all that.
If the Democrats are paying the price for facilitating Antifa, it’s pennies on the dollars they are recouping politically.
Mark my words, this sort of low level violence will continue unabated for the next four years at least.
Why does the USPS has to cease to exist.
I won’t bore you with all the stories of ballot “deliveries” as you probably know them or can find about faster. Those are just the last straw on my endless frustration with postal bureaucratic stupidity.
I got a mailbox at a somewhat near mail facility in order to get mail and packages without actually having to share my real address. The process was mostly done online and the problem started at the office when I was told that nobody but me could get mail in that box. Since I am married and it would be a tragical mistake not to do so, I explained that I needed to add my wife to the box in case she wanted to use it. I was demanded proof that she lived with me, basically asking that she would come personally to show her ID. I retorted that me, as the renter of the box, was willing to grant permission to my wife and I was the one providing the name, so there was little chance of “fraud.” And to assuage his fears, I produced our car insurance card which has both our names at the same address. The Postal Minion was unconvinced, but I was more ornery so the supervisor was called and my request was granted. Even though I was a bit pissed about the ordeal, I left feeling good about the fact that our mailbox would only receive mail for me or the missus.
Guess what? We are getting mail for everybody else that uses out box number. I was dutiful and informed them that I was getting mail not mine in the box and even went to the expense of getting a RETURN TO SENDER stamp and decorate the crap out of the mail just to have it put back in my box again.
I actually logged a formal complain with the USPS who got me a formal interview with the facility supervisor to address the issue. He was polite and promised he would take care of it. And of course, I am still getting the effing envelopes.
The last one was a simple light envelope with an American flag on it. I caught a good discount and ordered it almost a month ago.
And I waited…and waited and checked the tracking and apparently a black postal hole was created in NJ:
It took the envelope 2 weeks to go from the Garden State to the Gunshine State. And then finally delivered 2 days later.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Pony Express on frigging horseback did not take this long. In fact, it could have made the trip back and forth NY to SF three times in the same amount of time in 1861 that it took my flag to make it one way in the 21st Century and with modern vehicles and flying machines.
160 years later, the USPS can’t beat delivery on horseback. So, other than fucking around with mail-in ballots, why are they needed for?
