I know this news is a little old, but Miguel’s post about Ilhan Omar made me think of this.

So much of the anti-Trump/Pence #Resistance comes in the form of social media snark.

Honestly, it is what you expect from the nation’s most pampered, sheltered generation.  They are hysterical about how Trump and Pence are an existential threat to everything they hold dear, then they resist it by being shitty people on Twitter and Facebook.

So a couple of weeks ago, Vice President Mike Pence met with Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.  Taoiseach is the Irish equivalent of Prime Minister.

Varadkar is gay, and brought with him his boyfriend to meet Pence.

When Pence found out that the Irish Taoiseach was gay and that he had touched his hand, the same hand that touched another man’s unit, Pence recoiled in horror and vomited, then began trying to scrub the “gay cooties” off his skin.  The meeting ended poorly when Pence returned to the event with a car battery and jumper cables, promising to “zap the gay out of those sinners.”

Actually….

Much to the disappointment of the media and Lefties on Twitter, that never happened.

Vice President Pence acted in the most honorable and dignified way, and looked like he couldn’t give less of a shit about Varadkar and his boyfriend.

Lefties on the other hand were so excited about Varadkar rubbing Pence’s nose in his gayness.

Varadkar gave a terrible woke speech, full of intersectional bullshit.

He also misquoted the Star Spangled Banner.

It’s the “land of the free and home of the brave.”  I know the Irish drive on the opposite side of the road from us, but that is no excise for getting the order of words in a sentence wrong.  Especially when it is a prepared statement.

Now, I heard that crap and knew that Pence would be just to polite to call out Varadkar’s bullshit.

How I wish I was Pence’s speechwriter at that moment.

“I too agree that no one should be denied rights or liberties because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, or skin color.  The right live one’s life as one see’s fit is a right all free people have.  It is sad however, that this is all the Irish cherish as freedom and liberty.

It is well known that ‘firearm legislation in Ireland is among the least permissive in Europe.‘  The Irish people have fought for their freedom the from tyranny of foreign monarchs for centuries, only to allow themselves to be willfully disarmed by their own government.

The Irish also have the most restrictive speech codes in Western Europe.  The Irish Constitution ‘asserts that the State should try to make sure that the radio, the press and the cinema are not used to undermine public order or morality or the authority of the State. It also states that it is an offence to publish or utter seditious or indecent matter.’  Though in a movement towards greater freedom, Ireland did remove blasphemy from prohibited speech in 2018.

It is also know that the Irish people do not have the protections against arrest and detention equivalent to the Fourth or Fifth Amendments of the Constitutions of the United States.

The Irish people have also conceded their sovereignty to the un-elected bureaucrats of the European Union.

So while I celebrate your right to love who you wish, it seems that the Irish still have a very long way to go in their understanding of the meanings of ‘freedom and liberty.”

I’m not above reminding a Lefty Euro-weenie just how little I think of their definition of freedom to own the Libs.

Then again, that’s probably why I am not VP.

Spread the love

  1. The Irish attitude is a long way from the quote ‘A dozen rifles are more effective than a thousand resolutions in Parliament’. that was made by the Irish during the Irish war for Independence in 1914. That was when the Irish still had backbones. Mick Malone , armed with broom handle Mauser and accompanied by a mere 12 Volunteers killed and wounded 240 Sherwood Foresters.

  2. It’s “too polite,” not “to polite.” Yes, I am a pedantic asshole (and proud of it), but simple mistakes like that make you look stupid or sloppy, and we don’t need to give our enemies any more ammunition.
