We played nice with everybody. IIRC, we were dealing with our own internal economic and logistical messes(little things we refer to as the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl). We were in mostly Isolationist and defensive posture as a country weren’t we? Also Nazi Germany isn’t what brought us into WWII. It just so happened that they were allies of a little island in the pacific called Japan that attacked our sovereign soil at Pearl Harbor. At that point were all in, and the whole of Axis powers had to go.
