And there was the dilemma. How to answer? Do I tell her it’s none of their damn business? Do I lie? Instead, the professionally dressed (yes! A skirt and heels! On FRIDAY, none-the-less), middle-aged mom shot back with “Of COURSE there are guns in the house! How else am I going to keep her safe?”

I belong to the old school that believed in keeping gun ownership, if not totally secret, greatly censored to anybody but a selected few. I think we are now in the absolute need to be Loud & Proud about being a Gun Owner….although we do not need to be 100% frank and give a complete inventory of what we own to any stranger.(Some things will always need to be private/secret.) But as the Opposition is trying to “shame” us in front of the rest of the nation like we were drug dealers or child abusers, we should make it clear that we are NOT ashamed or afraid of enjoying and participate in the goodness of the Second Amendment.

The second bovine in need of execution is the avoidance of naming the culprit of a Mass Killing with the excuse of having other similar assholes think we are giving them too much importance and seeking the same amount of attention for themselves. Although the sentiment is noble, this creates a vacuum of information as people do what people normally do: seek who to blame. The media and the Gun Control pundits have no problem falsely assigning the guilt to the NRA and/or Gun Owners in general. You’d expect that the majority would see through this simplistic political play, but I’d say many don’t. Besides, the shooter is crazy to begin with and he probably did not need to be pushed by the promise of being famous anyway as that kind of psychotic idiocy is reserved for most politicians and plenty of Hollywood actors who desperately do stupid sh** to have their names appear on camera and print.

Just my humble opinions, that is all.

It also works on Yankees visiting with a bad attitude. It works better than the “Take I-95 North.”  😀

Hey… it’s not like the government was stockpiling guns and ammo while they were targeting Tea Parties and Jews.

Hanlon’s Razor states: “Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.”

The problem becomes when you can ascribe the actions of an administration to both malice and stupidity. The stakes get much much higher.

Back in the days of the old Assault Weapons Ban and the Brady Bill, politicians swore up and down the stack of bibles that the laws they were trying to enact would be the solution to all our gun violence problems and nothing else was needed and of course, they were not after our guns. As soon as the ink was dry on the paper, the same slimy actors would come out with big smiles on their faces, pat themselves in the fannies for a job well done and comment to the reporters that the laws just passed were “A good first step.” And, of course, they went after more gun control laws.

Apparently the old tricks have been resurrected once more, but we already knew this.

A report about Glock firing pins breaking for the weapons issued to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office deputies bring out the “experts.”

CBS4 News showed the Palm Beach report to local gunsmiths and armorers, including Robert Hasmi, president of Absolute Tactical Solutions in Miami Lakes and a police officer in South Florida for more than 20 years.

“Remember these are all working metal parts rubbing against each other constantly, that’s how a gun works,” said Hasmi. “The slide rubs against the frame, the barrel rubs against the slide when it, when you form its actions. It’s metal rubbing against metal.”

Hasmi said the possible culprit is the type of metal Glock uses in its firing pin.

“If the metal is too soft that the manufacturer uses, that could also be an issue,” he said.

I know it has been decades since I walked through the halls of engineering academia, but I seem to recall that very hard metals are brittle and break  under stress and/or effort while soft metals bend.

But I might be wrong since I am not an “expert.”
