You know? If I were a member of Thinkprogress or Media matter or DailyKos, I’d be shouting to the skies that this is a conspiracy and that we are force feeding mind-altering drugs to unsuspecting people and programming them as killers. All being the fault of the NRA, the gun manufacturers and the Koch Brothers to make Gun Control look bad .

Or we can simply apply Occam’s razor and say that the simple answer is the correct one: Gun Control advocates are not right up there and some do fall off the tracks and harm people.

Callie Adams told Jacksonville police in 2011 that she shot her husband, Rodney Adams, two times during a fight inside their car because Adams was repeatedly punching her in the head. Police said the shooting happened at close range in the parking lot of a nightclub.

It was a question of time. The narrative on Stand Your Ground, specially from the ultra liberals is that it is a hunting license against black people. They keep repeating (partially) the findings of the Tampa Bay Tribune that shows most of the “victims” are black but curiously ignore that the great majority of the beneficiaries are also black.

And that brings us to the Callie Adams case: Black woman with years of abuse by her husband is attacked in the confines of the vehicle they were in and she uses a firearm to defend herself.  I don’t know any more details or going to speculate on the particulars of the case I do not know, but I am just wondering where do Liberals stand on this? Do they root that she is denied SYG because it is a “bad racist law”? Are they wiling to be accused of being accomplices of “The War on Women” supporting the idea that she did not have the right to defend herself?  Or are they support her just because of her race and thus support SYG on the rebound contradicting their earlier stand?

And never forget that  what triggered Stand Your Ground in Florida was spousal/domestic abuse and the fact that if a woman defended herself, she was automatically treated not as a survivor but as a murderer.

A 53-year-old South Austin man with a valid concealed carry permit was able to shoot at two men who tried to accost him outside of his home early this morning….

…The man was walking from his garage to the front of his home when two males in hoodies appeared in a gangway between his home and the neighbor’s home, Sullivan said.

One of the two men pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed at the man who took out his own gun and managed to fire several times at the males, Sullivan said.

The males fled the area without being struck and the shooting did not result in any property damage, police said.

After the shooting, police responded and determined that the man was shooting in self-defense. The man had a valid firearm owner’s identification card, a valid concealed carry permit and police were able to determine that he had completed a required concealed carry class and was properly trained, Sullivan said.

State legislators have given initial approval to a bill that would allow ranchers to kill Mexican gray wolves caught attacking humans or livestock.

The Mexican gray wolf, which once roamed large portions of the Southwest, has been listed as an endangered species since 1976.

Eva Sargent, Southwest program director with the Defenders of Wildlife, said the bill violates federal law and ranchers should use different approaches to coping with wolves.

That NM needs a bill that say it is OK to shoot a predator that is attacking you shows there was a lot of insanity to begin with, but that some nimrod is actually trying to tell you that you can New Age a wolf into becoming a puppy and fetching the flip-flops is just catastrophic idiocy.
