All you need to know about revolvers…

…can be found in three books. Two I have reviewed before and I just started the third one:

sixguns
Sixguns by Elmer Keith.

I just bought this one recently and I am getting a postgraduate education on the history of the revolver. Kinda freaking out what else is in there, but the book is amazing so far.

Ed McGivern's Book of Fast and Fancy Revolver Shooting

Ed McGivern’s Book of Fast and Fancy Revolver Shooting.

If you have seen Jerry Miculek in action, then you are seeing the proud flame keeper of Ed McGivern. And don’t think what is in the book only applies to exhibition shooting, but a lot of the stuff McGivern writes about applies to regular revolver shooting and even any type of sidearm.

Defensive Revolver Fundamentals Protecting Your Life With the All American Firearm

Defensive Revolver Fundamentals: Protecting Your Life With the All-American Firearm by Grant Cunningham.

Going to brass tacks here. Many claim revolver is dead as defensive weapon but I say Nay. Grant Cunningham does a great job telling you how to keep yourself safe with this “old” gun.

Oh heck, revolvers are fun. Six for sure.

So the Pope dies….

… and arrives in heaven, where St. Peter awaits him. St. Peter asks who he is.

The Pope: “I am the pope.”

St. Peter: “Who? There’s no such name in my book.”

The Pope: “I’m the representative of God on Earth.”

St.Peter: “Does God have a representative? He didn’t tell me …”

The Pope: “But I am the leader of the Catholic Church …”

St. Peter: “The Catholic church … Never heard of it … Wait, I’ll check with the boss.”

St. Peter walks away through Heaven’s Gate to talk with God.

St. Peter: “There’s a dude standing outside who claims he’s your representative on earth.”

God: “I don’t have a representative on earth, not that I know of … Wait, I’ll ask Jesus.” (yells for Jesus)

Jesus: “Yes father, what’s up?”

God and St. Peter explain the situation.

Jesus: “Wait, I’ll go outside and have a little chat with that fellow.”

Ten minutes pass and Jesus re-enters the room laughing out loud. After a few minutes St. Peter asks Jesus why he’s laughing.

Jesus: “Remember that fishing club I’ve started 2000 years ago? It still exists!”

43 people shot in Miami’s Liberty Square area in 2014. Blame the Usual Suspects.

Miami police say they consider the spike in shootings this year an “outlier.” They say major crime numbers remain low overall and put much of the blame on the end of the federal Assault Weapons Ban in 2004. Automatic gunfire from easy-to-get guns can spray hundreds of bullets in the blink of an eye.

Police say the lax gun laws leave them unable to track the number of weapons purchased or when they were bought. People purchasing weapons at gun shows or in shops are not required to register them.

Turf wars also get blame.

via Deadly square: 43 people shot in Miami’s Liberty Square area in 2014 | The Miami Herald.

Get it? The spike in murders we saw last year is because a Federal Law that expired 10 years ago. I guess it took all that time getting from D.C. to Miami in order for the Gang Bangers to get the news…Oh I am sorry, there is no such thing as gangs in Miami, they all left for places north like Chicago or L.A. And when Miami PD mention “turf wars” it is about landscapers trying to get a good price on St. Augustine grass sod at the local Home Depots. Landscapers can get nasty and you really don’t wanna see the mass casualties they can inflict with a cordless trimmer.

I really do not know who is the dumbest here, the White Shirts for coming out with so lame excuses of the reporters that act like hungry guppies and swallow those flakes of BS.

Europe’s Leading Rabbi: Jews Must Begin Carrying Guns.

The European Jewish Association (EJA), which represents Jewish communities across Europe, says that gun license laws must be altered following a string of deadly attacks on Jews in France and other European countries, where anti-Semitism has been growing at an alarming rate.

The recent attacks, including one on a Kosher market that killed four, “have revealed the urgent need to stop talking and start acting” in a way that empowers Europe’s Jews, according to a letter sent Tuesday by EJA General Director Rabbi Menachem Margolin to EU leaders.

The EU, which has enacted very stringent gun control laws, should empower and train Jews to be proficient with guns in order to maintain their safety, according to Margolin.

“The Paris attacks, as well as the many challenges and threats which have been presented to the European Jewish community in recent years, have revealed the urgent need to stop talking and start acting,” Margolin writes.

Because one Kristallnacht is enough.

Chances of this happening run about the bottom of the Kelvin scale so we will see more attacks and more Jews leaving Europe.

We can use more Jews in Miami. And one of these days I have to go to a Jewban synagogue.

Your mandatory reading for today: Bad Guys Don’t Have Rules.

Do you truly understand those who may attack you? Do you understand how they think? Do you consider what they might do when “plying their trade”? If you take nothing else away from this column, understand this: They don’t think like you do! They aren’t reasonable, compassionate, kind or misunderstood. They’re predators with only one goal in mind: to commit and complete the act they started-and get away. Nothing more, nothing less . . .

Deeply inside the mind of a Liberal and maybe why the rest of the world is crazy.

Via PJ Media. The following is one of those long rambling articles you are better off taking your time reading, preferably o an empty stomach.

Anyone guilty of hate speech – which should carry criminal penalties of 25 years to life – should be sent to special prisons designed to re-educate them and to instill values of tolerance, freedom, democracy, and human rights in them. Prison is about punishment, but it’s also about changing the behavior of criminals. We often tend to forget this in our country. Merely sending bigots to ordinary prisons is not good enough – they need to be sent to special prisons for bigots, which will re-educate them.

via Here Is Why It’s Time To Get Tough On Hate Speech In America | Thought Catalog.

The author of that quote is Tanya Cohen. I can’t get info on her and what shows is some bit on IMDB that probably is not the same person. Ms. Cohen seems to have a problem comprehending that Free Speech has a wide latitude in the US and it irks her to almost physical painful levels. As a good liberal, she believes in the powerful magic that comes with imposing strict laws that will make bad things disappear instantly or at least gives her the power to be her own little Kriminalkommissar and go after those that she deems offensive.

But she is only one person, right? Actually she seems to be a reflection of what is happening out there. She goes to mention a proposed Hate Speech Law in Australia:

A proposed human rights law called the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Bill would have made it illegal to offend, insult, humiliate, or intimidate people on the basis of age, sex, race, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity, immigrant status, marital/relationship status, political opinion, social origin, religion, nationality, medical history, family responsibilities, or industrial history – and the law stated that people would be declared guilty until proven innocent, effectively requiring people to prove in court that they did not violate the fundamental human rights of others with hate speech.

After that, you are now thinking: “No way, this has to be The Onion” Nope, Laws like this, with the blessings of the UN are being implemented everywhere, again with the misguided concept that once the make it illegal, Hate Speech will disappear from the brains of all the people and unicorns will fart free i multicolored fields of cotton candy.

She blames the Rwandan Genocide on hate speech. And I will admit that it did have part on the whole thing, but I give more credit to the massacre at the tens of thousands of machetes that were used to chop 600,000 unarmed and innocent people out of existence.

She is pretty hateful of the US, which she blames for the impossibility of achieving worldwide Political Nirvana in another article which she wrote in response of Americans commenting less than politely on her first article:

The failure to ban hate speech is not the only area where the US falls far behind other countries in terms of basic human rights. The US still has yet to ban gun ownership, still has yet to enact universal healthcare, still has yet to enact free higher education, still has yet to enact the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and still has yet to set up any kind of federal Human Rights Commission, among many other things.

via Why Do Americans Reject Human Rights When The Whole World Embraces Them? | Thought Catalog.
As a good Liberal, she ignores that Hate Speech is just a component of Genocide. Yes, it may be able to help some leader or group exact Mass Killings on a minority, but by itself is nothing more than words. And that goes double if the minority is properly prepared and willing to use those horrible instruments called guns to make sure that Hate Speech remains just that. And guns come handy to make sure people do not get sent to a re-education camp because they went ahead and called Ms. Cohen an irreversible dumb bitch whose brain probably runs on peyote.

Open Carry Lobbying: This is how NOT to do it.

It pains me that I have to link to Moms Demand, but it seems the people involved in the following video are not posting it publicly. It is painful to watch to the end, but please do so.

“Don’t touch me?” WTH? Are you 5 years old? Blocking the door like a cheap vacuum salesman from the 50s? “I’ll show you mean”? You do not display Mike Tyson-in-a-hotel-room behavior during Resurrection Mass at the Vatican. Is that such a hard concept to process?

The group in this video is called Lone Star Gun Rights. In this picture we can see some of the people in the video (Santa, Cowboy Hat, Brunette with black boots, tall guy in Texas hoodie.) And there is the mandatory Guy Wearing Cammo because we could not figure out a bigger Gun Nut stereotype to bring to the Legislature. And by the way, the cute, well-edited video that shows the group acting like rational human beings? Hint: Alex Jones’ InfoWars is not what is considered a well-respected or even somewhat rational media outlet. You would be getting more coverage and more seriousness out of a live Mushroom-Growing competition  Youtube Channel.

Fellow gun-rights activist CJ Grisham said he initially accompanied the group as they stopped by Capitol offices, but left before they reached Nevárez because he disagreed with how they were interacting with lawmakers.

“I just can’t believe the utter lack of professionalism, tact and, really, common courtesy that I saw today,” Grisham said. “It was intimidation, it was talking down, it was speaking over, it was childishness, and it did absolutely zero to even engage in conversation.”

via Gun Rights Activists Cause Stir at Texas Capitol | The Texas Tribune.

When the you have King Baiter C.J. Grisham saying you went stupid…..

And by the way, I happened to come across the video because it showed in the Facebook page of Moms Demand, Florida chapter. So thanks for the help there Sparky, I am sure it will come in handy when we try this year once again for our Open Carry law.

At this rate of “help” by well-intentioned but totally stupid Gun Right groups, Texans will be lucky the Legislature does not rescind Concealed Carry altogether.
