Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), changes parts of federal rules that were meant to boost rifle skills in the country under a program dating back to Teddy Roosevelt. Under existing law, which was updated in 1996, the Department of Defense makes surplus military rifles available to the public through something known as the Civilian Marksmanship Program, which has a regional headquarters in Rogers’ state.

Nobody can be this stupid. Five minutes perusing the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s website would make a liar out of the “white paper” that has no names and no office attached to it. For all we know, some troll or an operative for any Gun Control group could have come up with it, just like the infamous Bush papers.

Unregulated distribution? Untraceable? The CMP is possibly the most annoying entity when it comes to releasing a gun that will be forever attached to your name and vitals. I don’t know how this Michael McAuliff did not research the requirements that can be found in the CMP’s Sales Catalog. Hell, it is only three forms to fill with three pages full of details on what documentation to provide and what kind of shooter you are! And, let’s not forget that little thing called background checks:

Reading from Tam about an article from the Washington Post titled Europe to America: Your love of air-conditioning is stupid. She nails them down with a few comparisons of where some cities in the US are located compared to European capitals where people were dropping dead because of the summer heat and their basic lack of window fans. I went ahead and put her retort on a simple graphic for your viewing pleasure. I based it in three North American cities: Ottawa, Nashville and Miami. You may want to click to enlarge.

I lived in Nashville and for about a month and a half, maybe in the summertime, you would use the AC if you weren’t on a budget and had no fans. I was on a budget so I basically used it for the worst 2 weeks. Notice that the same parallel touches Gibraltar, northern Algeria and northern Tunisia ending up in Syria and northern Iraq, not quite what comes to mind when you think mild temperatures. I haven’t been to Ottawa, but from what I gather in the news, it is not the bellows of Hell’s fire, specially when comes winter. Yet, most of the Smug Europeans live farther north of that parallel.

And Miami… sweet Miami. OK, we are a bit blessed that our topography is Nebraska flat with a decent breeze flowing from both the Atlantic and the Gulf… which of course contributes to the frigging humidity that brings the heat indexes to above the hundred in the summer. But what lays at the other end of the parallel? Western Sahara, Algeria, Libya, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Now, ask them highfalutin Eco-Eurotrash to live in any of these countries without as much as a 5,000 BTU window unit and they will call Interpol and send you to the La Hague International Tribunal for attempted crimes against humanity and hurting their feelings. For the Lord of the Dance’s sake, the House of Saud spends half its oil income trying to AC the hell out of their palaces!

I have been in Europe during “Bad” summers. You know what is the worst of an European Summer? To use public transportation. The smell would gag cadaver dogs. Do they have as Eco Friendly policy not to take a frigging shower at least once every 2 weeks?

I call Gun Control Advocates “The Opposition. “I do so because the word “enemy” has a very particular connotation at least to me: If you are my enemy, you are sworn to harm me and I must do what’s necessary to protect me and mine.

Somebody inside the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence has decided to amp up the rhetoric without thinking about consequences. It is not like they haven’t said some asinine shit before like being in favor of the round up of US Citizens based on political preferences. They have their followers demanding that gun owners be “put to sleep.”  Or doxing gun bloggers and keeping lists. Or threatening to call family services on them just for fun and giggles. They even compared us to drug cartels and defended ATF giving guns to the real drug cartels.  They had no problem lying about historical documents. And how many times have they called us traitors but they have no problems transmitting al Qeada BS as truth. And the latest is their embrace of Swatting Gun Owners just because they can.

I could keep posting links and pics of what CSGV has posted online about gun owners (Pics alone I have 540 in the database, mostly screen caps from their Facebook and Twitter accounts) but I think the point of who is addressing who as the enemy is clear by now.

So, ladies…Moms…we need to talk. We need to talk about the impolite topics of gun legislation and gun violence; about politics and policies; about racism and bigotry. The most interesting people I know are those I can have a real conversation with. The ones who are up on their current events. Who have an opinion and aren’t embarrassed or afraid to share it. People who have a voice. We need to find our voice.

We need to find the courage to walk up to people, introduce ourselves and put our faces and our names to whatever cause we believe in. You get to choose your cause, but you have to choose something.Why do we let those who are against change intimidate us? Silence us? I never get the feeling that those who are against gun sense are concerned about appearing impolite or pushing their views on others. We’ve let them be louder and more demanding. That needs to change.

The sad part is that they cannot get the numbers of Moms they want. But there is a good reason for it: They are out there at gun ranges, practicing with their guns because they know no amount of marching or banners or comedians will actually matter when a criminal comes calling.

After decades of preaching about “empowering women,” the Left suddenly realized mothers took the word at its original meaning and figured out it is them who are the first responders. It is them that must be responsible for their own safety, not 911 and not some judge after the crime. They tried to sell the idea that victim is cool and it backfired. And the worst part is that theses new mothers, will raise a new generation under the same principles of self-empowerment  which will be the death knoll of “It is cool to be a victim.”

True feminists refuse to be victims.
