A tale of a doggie that was not supposed to be.

This is my wife some years back with one of our Dobbies, Sin-Loi. He was a special case and a very special story. He was barely 3 months old when we got him. He was given to us as a gift and it was supposed to be trained by my wife, her first one. A couple of days later, he got sick, very sick. We found out that his mom and the rest of the litter were also sick and it was parvo which is supposed to be  fatal. The stubborn wife of mine refused to give up on her trainee; she spoon fed him, massaged him, talked to him and kept him in my room (under the disgusted looks of out 2 cats) and her patience and dedication paid off.

As for training, the dog absorbed the instructions. I swear she only had to do maybe two repetitions and it was imprinted in the animal. Same as the ones over my folks’ place, he was not allowed in the house but the missus got an old couch where he could spend his time while not patrolling or locked in his house. He was smaller and thinner than the average Dobbie and that white stripe automatically disqualified him from the purity of the  breeding circles, but he was the smartest and meanest dog we ever had.

I am not screwing around saying he was smart. This is 100% true story and hold my beer.  We went for a long weekend vacation and my father and mother were to come around the house to feed him and make sure he was OK. When we got back, my parents complained that the dog just royally ignored them and they had a hard time with him. It was then that it dawned on us that we did not think well the whole training thing: The dog was trained in the language we used at home, English. My parents spoke the language of the land, Spanish. The dog was not ignoring them, he did not understand them!

For some reason that I am still unaware of, the Berlitz Spanish Class for Canines fell on me to teach. The dog once again made devoured the material like it was fresh ground beef and soon after we had a fully bilingual Doberman. Mom and Dad appreciated the hell out of it, specially the “Dame un Besito” (Give me a kiss) which my mom found adorable and rewarded with the good treats.

He is dead now. Lasted only 12 year rather than the usual 14-15 that our dogs get as minimum, but I reckon the parvo had left enough scars inside. Everybody in our neighborhood was scared shitless of him except our youngest siamese cat which was totally infatuated with the Dobbie and confused the shit out of him.

PS: Wife reminded me that Sin-Loi was never meant to or went after cats. That kinda came in handy when your Alpha was also the Cat Lady of the house.
PS 2: Sin-Loi’s mom and brothers an sisters did not survive the parvo. He was the only one who made it.

The puppy thing raised hell.

I have to say it is fun to watch it. I will disagree with just about everybody else on this one.

For good reasons we are subjected every half a generation with the “This race of dog is bad and should be prohibited” versus “That is bullshit, the dog is fine, it is the owner.” As sometime happens, the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I have owned German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois and Dobermans. You know what I found out? They are three different breeds, each with a specific way of behaving and doing things. You know what else I learned? They are dogs, not brothers/sister/babies/members of family. Dogs run under the principle of pack, not human family.

Basically, I would say that 95% of dog owners do not know how to have dogs. They will buy them a shitload of toys, a nice bed, take them to be groomed, buy them expensive treats and “balanced” foods but very few understand what is to be Alpha, the mean fucker that has no problem inflicting pain if the dog decides to step out of his standing. Does that mean I beat my dogs into submission? No, but it took only a couple of corrections to make them understand who was really Alpha and yes, they may have not been painless.

Are Pitbulls specially mean? Not any worse than a Doberman or even a Chihuahua but they were created for a purpose and you either learn to deal with it or don’t expect a happy ending.  I have a friend that got himself a Neapolitan mastiff puppy. This were dogs bred for warfare, not just pussy-ass dogfights in the junkyards of Little Havana and if you ever see one of them in adult form and close to you, you will understand how its ancestors took down horses with people on top. Now, as any dog, I believe that if you not only establish who is Alpha but train it, you can have a working animal, the problem is that I knew my buddy and knew damn well he did not have the knowledge or the desire to do so and treated him like a part of the family, pampering him and treating him not like a dog of his class should be treated. Yes, there were consequences, but thankfully it did not involve humans but about a dozen sheep were hunted down and killed because once his instinct which was never restrained, kicked in, my friend could not stop him.  The dog was put down because it was impossible to control after that.

But establishing Alpha and properly training a dog is hard work. I spent a lot  of time training mine. It was a daily chore from the moment we got them (usually 3-4 months old) till I deemed they were trained enough to be useful. I can’t give you exact times: Dobermans were incredibly smart and required little time training (Six months) and then only quarterly refreshers. German Sheps took longer and they needed to be refreshed basically every time they farted. The Malinois fell somewhere in the middle.

My dogs never slept inside the house, hell they were never allowed inside the house because their duty was to watch the property. Out back door was always open, but you would never see one of the dogs come in, at best if they wanted your attention, they would sit in front of the threshold and bark. I understood what they were made for and trained them for that, not to do yoga with the lady of the house and appear in Youtube videos. They understood their position in the totem pole which is why my 100 Lbs wife could walk our 120 Lbs Malionis with confidence he would obey her. The only exception was one specific vet which he hated with absolute relish because of the use of a rectal thermometer once so I had to take doggie to the vet and literally wrestle with the asshole not to kill the poor woman.

So, same as guns, unless you have the discipline to properly use them according to its design, you are bound to get yourself in trouble. The problem resides is that most people thing a 4 Bore rifle has the same recoil as a 10-22 and that is when things may get interesting.

When you cannot have Roof Koreans.

We all have joked and celebrated the Roof Koreans, the armed Korean shop owners who successfully defended their business during the L.A.Riots.

But what happens when you don’t have RKBA because the government has deemed dangerous and unnecessary plus they guarantee your safety? Venezuela once again provide us with the answer.

It reads:
This is the entrance of Pinto Salinas market in Calabozo. Today #Jan13 the businessmen confronted those who wanted to loot them with stones. They protected their merchandise. At this time 5:25 pm they are still protecting their own. The communist dream in the heart of Venezuela #Guarico.

So basically a makeshift barricade and stones to protect against looting. Do we need to bet how long-lasting that defense tactic will be?

It did not kill him, did it? Therefore Less Lethal.

There were some food riots in Venezuela this past weekend and it seems the Government was out of standard Less Lethal ammo so they went birdshot.

Notice the impact wound for the wad right above the elbow. The whole thing has to smart as bad as hunger.

RIP the US Senate

Chelsea Manning has announced his run for the United States Senate in Maryland.

Back in August of last year, the news reported that he was considering running for office.  I said at the time, that if he was elected, it would be a Fort Sumter moment.

I watched the video from his announcement.

I’m not entirely sure what

“We need to stop asking them to give us our rights.
They won’t support us.
They won’t compromise.
We need to stop expecting that our systems will somehow fix themselves.
We need to actually take the reins of power from them.”

Means in terms of running for office.  That sounds more like the creed of a small time revolutionary than a candidate for public office.

Here is the bad news.  I am afraid that Manning has good chance at winning.  He is a hero to the chic Left, with magazine spreads and parade honors and all.  He was going to be hired by Harvard until enough people complained.  He is an avowed confiscatory socialist.

If Maxine Waters can become “Auntie” Maxine and a hero to #Resistance, Manning as a good chance in a deep blue state to get elected because “fuck Trump.”

Everything that a rational person would list as disqualifying for being elected to the Senate, being charged with “aiding the enemy,” convicted for violating the espionage act, being ridiculously “anti-police,” are all  positives for the #Resistance.

The only way for him to lose is to be cut out of the primary by another Democrat.  I’m not sure if they’d do that.  He checks all the boxes as a young, trans-women, who committed treason against the US military and was a “political prisoner” commuted by Obama.

Here is the good news.

Right about the time that he wins the election, Kimber would have relocated to Alabama.  That means that Southern States will have Glock, Kimber, a large part of H&K, most of Remington, Beretta, FNH USA, and Lake City.

When it comes time to go our own separate ways, I think we’ll be just fine this time around.

Florida Firearms Coalition : Florida House Bill 6073. (Eliminating Stand Your Ground)

Florida House Bill 6073 is a DANGEROUS BILL! (Bill Text)

Our Florida Legislators sometimes do things or put forth Bills that are a little out there. Meaning they stretch the limits of common sense and sometimes address issues that are non-existent. This Bill is way beyond those limits. It is literally a Bill that removes common sense and the rights of people to defend themselves in their own homes!

The first part of the Bill repeals all of Florida State Statute 776.013, “Home protection; use or threatened use of deadly force; presumption of fear of death or great bodily harm.” Which would mean that you cannot use deadly force in your home to stop an intruder and would have to retreat or try and avoid the confrontation? You would have to be physically attacked or otherwise attacked before you could use deadly force.

The second part of the Bill deletes the “stand your ground” clause and means that defense attorney’s for criminals could attack you for not trying to run away!

Basically, this Bill tries to take away a person’s right to self-defense in your home and anywhere else you have the right to be. This would take us back to the days of court battles as to why didn’t you try and leave your home and call the police?
This is a terrible Bill! One we must make sure never sees the light of a committee hearing and if it does, it needs to die a quick and sudden death of a Bill that violates people’s right to self-defense, and the sanctity of our home!

Florida House Bill 6073, by Rep. Jones, is one that we MUST make sure our Representatives know we as freedom loving Floridians and those that believe in the right to self-defense in our own homes do not support and we will make sure that those who support this Bill are not forgotten! We cannot allow this Bill to move forward!

Here is the link to the Bill’s page – http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Secti…/Bills/billsdetail.aspx…

It has been assigned to these Committees:

– Criminal Justice Subcommittee
– Justice Appropriations Subcommittee
– Judiciary Committee

So if you value your right to defend your home, and yourself when you are out and about. And believe that you should not have to run away before you choose to defend yourself, you need to let your Representatives and those in these committees know your feelings on the issue!

Here is an email format you can copy and paste:

Dear Representative ____________,

I am a freedom loving Floridian. I believe in the right of the individual to defend themselves against violence and unlawful attacks. I also believe in ones right to defend our home from unlawful intrusions.

I am writing to you to ask you to vote against House Bill 6073! It is an insult to the basic human right of self-defense. It attacks the right of citizens to defend themselves in their own homes and wherever they have the legal right to be. Why would we want to take away the right of Florida’s law-abiding citizens to defend themselves? This is a Bill without a problem and one that removes basic rights.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email and I trust you will vote against the Bill as we the people of Florida do not support it in any version.

Respectfully,
Your name.

Thank you for taking the time to write your Representatives and making sure they understand that the majority of Floridians do not support this ridiculous Bill.
