After Chicago Police bravely stood their ground against a hail of frozen water bottles, high powered fireworks, and other debris thrown at them while defending the statue of Christopher Columbus in Grant Park from being torn down by rioters and vandals.

Because hating the police and undermining them is one of the main objectives of Leftist city leaders, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot had that statue and another statue of Christopher Columbus in Arrigo Park in Little Italy taken down in the dark of night.

This is absolutely disgusting.

The Columbus in Grant Park was commissioned by Italian immigrants in 1933 and displayed for Chicago’s centennial at the Century of Progress World’s Fair.  The statue in Arrigo Park was created in 1892 for the Italian Pavilion at Chicago’s 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition.  It was relocated to Arrigo Park to preserve it in 1966 at the request of the Italian-American Community.

There is a reason that so many Christopher Columbus states were made and installed in America from the 1890s to the 1930s.  That reason, like the statues themselves, are being obliterated by Social Justice.

A major wave of Irish immigrants came to America starting in 1820 and significantly increasing in 1845 through 1860 due to the potato blight.  When the Irish first arrived, they were met with hostility.  “No Irish Need Apply” was real in the mid-1800s.  The Irish had integrated themselves into the United States within a generation.  Things like the legend of the “Fighting 69th” the all Irish brigade of New York, and the bravery they showed fighting for the Union in the Civil War helped.

Starting in 1880 and going through 1924, there was a major wave of Italian immigration to the United States.  The Italians were met with even more hostility than the Irish.  The Irish who had integrated hated the Italian immigrants.  Partly due to the new immigrants undercutting wages.  Partly due to old European rivalries in Catholic politics.  This latter part was compounded by the fact there was also a strong wave of anti-Catholicism in the US at this time and the Italians were overwhelmingly Catholic.

The largest lynching in the US was of Italian immigrants in New Orleans in 1891.  That was only one of many anti-Italian violent attacks in Louisiana history.

A minor story about two Italian immigrant anarchists, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, committing a robbery in 1920 was sensationalized into a moral panic by the media (they have been sacks of shit for a long time, haven’t they) which kicked off more anti-Italian violence across America.

The Italian community in America needed to integrate themselves.  They needed to prove that they were just as much part of the fabric of America as any other group.

One of the ways that they did that was by elevating the story of Christopher Columbus.

It’s true that Columbus didn’t “discover America,” he never made landfall anywhere in the United States.   The Vikings arguably were the first Europeans to make it to the North American continent a century before Columbus, landing in Greenland and Canada.

But that didn’t matter.

“Columbus discovered America.”  That meant that the Italians were not new interlopers, they are have been positively impactful in American history from the very beginning.  Building monuments to Columbus and teaching Columbus in American history helped change America’s attitude about Italians and ended anti-Italiansim.

Fast forward from the early 20th Century to the early 21st Century.

The history of Italian immigrants is no longer taught.  Instead, Social Justice teaches that all European immigrants to America are “White” and have equal privilege as well as guilt and culpability in White Supremcaicm.

Christopher Columbus has been turned into a genocidal slaver, going from lionized to demonized.

This totally erases the ugly history of Italian immigrants in America and the hard-fought way they integrated themselves into this country.

The reason for this is clear.  There can only be one victim.

Remembering a time when Italians were lynched, because as the Governor of Louisiana John M. Parker said the Italians were “just a little worse than the Negro, being if anything filthier in their habits, lawless, and treacherous,” doesn’t help perpetuate the idea of homogenous oppressive whiteness.

The Left is erasing a history of violent, racist, oppression against a group of people who it’s currently not politically advantageous to remember were ever the victims of violent, racist, oppression.

This is beyond horrible and it is a grotesque affront to history that nobody in the media or politics has brought this up.

A Kansas City man who allegedly shot three people on Wednesday has been arrested as part of Operation LeGend.
Leamandreal Dorsey, 40, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri.
“Court documents cite a long history of gun violence and drug trafficking by this defendant who terrorized his neighborhood, allegedly shooting several victims this week,” said U.S. Attorney Timothy Garrison. “This is his second federal charge for illegally possessing firearms. Operation LeGend is successfully taking armed, violent criminals like this off the street to make our neighborhoods safer.”

This is a great thing, right? It seems the city has a violent crime problem and would welcome any help to curb it.

Operation LeGend has sent more than 200 federal officers to Kansas City this month in an effort to curb violent crime.
The city has recorded 112 homicides so far this year. At this time last year, 80 homicides had been reported.

But guess what?

However the operation has been met with criticism from city leaders and the community.
Last weekend, a group of protesters gathered calling for an end to the operation. The protesters said a larger law enforcement presence will endanger Black people in the city.

I can’t help but think Liberals love to see black people killed. It is amazing that any effort to bring a peace and order to a location is immediately opposed by a bunch of white folks who supposedly know better that the blacks in the area.  That is very much racist behavior, but you won’t find any “leader” that actually stands up and says so.

I bring this again because I had called and old friend last night who lives in the west coast (Tampa area) and who I had not spoken in a long time. We were talking about everything and anything including the BS we had to deal with the Kung Flu.

Now, my buddy here is not into social media and I am guessing what little info he gets, it is from the traditional media, so you can imagine my shock when he commented that Cuomo had done a great job in New York. My immediate response was silence followed by “are you shitting me?”

He was shocked at my answer. The only thing he heard about Cuomo was good things to which I responded asking if had only heard bad things about DeSantis and he agreed. He lived in New Yorker several years back in the early 80s when the city was the challenging and crazy place you see in the movies, so I know he has a special place in his heart for the Big apple the way I have it for the old Nashville of the mid 80s. So when i started to give him details of what was going on, he was shocked and he lost his top when I explained him about the Subway being reduced in number of trains and not disinfected.

The point is, there is still a population out there who is buying the damaging lies propelled against our State and Country by the Mainstream Media. We cannot afford to just let people eat the Narrative and as much as we may hate it, engage the others who are not in either side. This I know is difficult because we are a bunch of reserved assholes, but efforts must be done.   We cannot risk the Democrats win in November.

Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby alongside Philadelphia’s District Attorney penned an op-ed in The Washington Post Thursday, denouncing President Donald Trump’s threat to deploy federal agents to their cities.

In the piece, Mosby said, “If President Trump sends militarized federal agents to Baltimore City to attack our citizens by making illegal arrests, kidnapping people, assaulting them, or committing any other crime, they will be prosecuted by my office.”

Let us remember that dear Ms. Mosby is the one who charged Baltimore cops  with manslaughter for the death of Freddy Gray unpleasantness five years ago.  The trial for one of the officers ended up with the jury locking up in a split decision and then three bench trials in a row the officers were acquitted, and by a black judge to boot.

And remember we they had riots and arson all over the place with the blessing of the Mayor who told the cops to give the critters space to protest.

Now Baltimore cops are going to be caught between a Leftist rock and a a very Federal hard place: Their immediate bosses (who hates them because they are cops,) will order them to arrest federal officer while they are doing their legal duty risking charges federal charges.  So they either comply with orders and may end up in a federal pen or in a shootout or they get fired by the city for failing to obey (yes, I know it would be an illegal order, but the Baltimore .Gov won’t give a damn.)

The police will be neutralized by the simple fact they do not like the choices presented and probably develop a huge case of Blue Wuhan Flu and have to stay home.

What will be of the city? That will be in the hands of the Governor which probably will have to bring the National Guard again to quell the wide open unrest that is soon to follow.  And if the Governor does bring the troops and decides to go after the Federal agents, you know the White House will federalize the troops and shit will escalate even bigger after that.

OK, I am just woolgathering tin foil.  But remember the Left do not care about lives, only the win. They are still cracking eggs without a decent omelet to show or even basic scrambled eggs.

No charges for man who drove through Tulsa protesters, DA says truck was attacked

Charges will not be filed against the driver of a pickup pulling a horse trailer that went through a crowd of protesters May 31 on Interstate 244, Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler announced Thursday.

The truck contained a man, his wife and their two school-aged children, and they told the OHP that they feared for their lives.

There were no horses in the trailer.

Kunzweiler’s memo states that the driver saw someone motion him to go through, following the lead of another car that was allowed to pass through the protesters that blocked the highway.

Then, “protesters descend upon” the truck, beating it, grabbing at it and throwing things at it, according to the memo.

“The children describe how their family vehicle was surrounded and repeatedly being struck. One child described the sound as if they were in a hail storm. The children’s mother echoed her children’s statements and described them as so scared they got on the floorboard of the truck, screaming and crying.”

” … the operator of the family truck and horse trailer and its occupants (which included two school age children) were the victims of a violent and unprovoked attack by multiple individuals who unnecessarily escalated an already dangerous circumstance by obstructing an interstate highway. Although the claim may be that this was a peaceful protest, there was nothing peaceful about the targeting and attack upon this family. Crimes were committed upon this family and the individuals responsible should be held accountable.”

The OHP documented damage to the truck: a broken windshield, a door handle torn off, a fractured grill, dents in multiple places.

Scaring the shit out of a family. Doing damage to the truck.  Getting caught on camera being violent.  The driver was in the right to drive on through and the district attorney recognized that.

It was previously reported that the crowd let a black diver through ahead of the truck, which is why the truck driver thought he could go through.

The protesters racially segregation highway access probably won them no favors.

Tulsa isn’t Portland.

One of the protesters jumped from the overpass and was paralyzed.

Play stupid games against an 8,000 lbs diesel truck hauling a gooseneck trailer and win a wheelchair for a prize.

As this shit gets worse we’re going to see more attacks on motorists.  Tulsa here is setting precedent on the rights of drivers being attacked to floor it on through.
