Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

Six More Years You Say – McThag.

I stole the whole post.

There’s several political seats where the incumbent is utterly despised.

Despised enough that you’re just certain that they will be disposed next election.

Then you see whom the other party picks to run against them and you think, “well, they may be despicable, but they’re sure better than Newguy™.”  And you watch this happen election after election.

I don’t find many people who actually like Senator Nelson (D-FL), but I don’t think Governor Scott (RINO) is going to unseat him.

Especially since I don’t think the Republican party in Florida has really fully absorbed how pissed off gun owners are about our new gun control law.

He is right. In my particular case, I already been reached via phone by GOP survey  and electoral workers and made my absolute displeasure and let them know I do not plan to vote for any asshole who sides with the passing of SB 7026. I know at least one of the callers was shocked at my vehemence and another was not as he had already heard from others Republican voters.

I do believe this year will turn out to be Blue for Florida.

So I may watch the World Cup after all.

RUSSIAN football hooligans have issued a dire ultimatum ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2018, pledging a “death sentence” against all England fans if they dare head to the tournament this summer.
Thousands of Russian ultras are gearing up to shed blood at the 21st World Cup in June, a shocking dive into social media has revealed.
Groups of raging football hooligans from Moscow and other cities have united on Russia’s popular Facebook alternative, Vkontakte.com (VK), for a large scale operation.
In the VK group “Russian Hooligans”, the football ultras have pledged to “unleash hell” during the World Cup.

World Cup 2018 BLOODBATH: Russian hooligans warn England fans ‘Prepare to DIE’

The actin will be on the stands rather than the field, but as long as it is covered, I won’t mind.

Now, if you really want to watch some damned decent soccer played tough and without wussy theatrics, you will have to wait till 2019 for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

London and Liberty City (Miami): The unmentioned issue inside the violence.

There is a “war” going on between groups of youngsters in north London amid a spate of shootings and stabbings in the capital, according to a veteran campaigner.
The youths, from Tottenham and Wood Green, are being fuelled by social media, racial equality campaigner Stafford Scott said.
He spoke out after gang members appeared to joke and boast over the killing of 17-year-old Tanesha Melbourne, who was shot dead in Tottenham on Monday, in a series of vile social media posts…
…In an interview with the Standard earlier this week, Tottenham MP David Lammy warned of a “turf war between two rival gangs in Tottenham and Wood Green”.

London murders: Youngsters are ‘locked in war fuelled by social media’ as violent crime surges

And on this side of the pond:

Miami Police responded to the scene off NW 63rd Street and 13th Place around 2 p.m. Sunday.
Three of the victims were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital where one died. The fourth victim, believed to be 17 or 18 years of age, died on scene.
“As far as I know he was riding with a couple of friends and they said a car turned around a car started shooting at them but you know there are a lot of different stories so we don’t know exactly what happened,” said Shirelda Huntley Thomas, who says her nephew, a senior at Northwestern Senior High School, was the person killed on scene…
(buried at the bottom of the article)
…In this case, officials believe the shooting may have been gang-related.
“It appears gang-related. It appears more than one person creeped up on four people that were here. They never even really had a chance. It was over 20, over 25 shots that had been fired,” said Suarez.

Northwestern Senior High Student Killed In Liberty City Shooting

Gang is a bad word. The word gang cannot be mentioned in polite media company. If you say that word loud enough, the local chambers of commerce will have a hissy fit and send glitter bombs your way. Why? Because the mention of gangs in a local media, sends tourist and other shoppers to more peaceful locations. You say “gangs” and they see dollar bills with wings flying away to other destinations.

And cops cannot deal with gangs, they are not allowed since many a gang member is a minority and thus any action against them will be considered a racist attack against an underprivileged member of our society.

I can’t speak for London’s problems, but I can point you out to how bad the Liberty City gang problem is: The show the First 48 ran at least six seasons with murders from the city of Miami and lots of them in the Liberty City’s Pork and Bean neighborhood.  The majority of the murders? Gang related.

You know? Maybe it is time we abandon the “Feel-Good-Kumbaya” approach to gang crime and apply maybe some tougher actions. I know, there are plenty of problems, including the people’s refusal to cooperate, but there are innocents being caught in the crossfire and avalanche of stabbings. Maybe we should start by having those government officials who believe in the “Feel-Good-Kumbaya” approach, live in the neighborhoods where killing is free and “democratic.”

Another senseless train death. We must do something!

This train is more dangerous than my “assault weapon.”

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a man has been hit and killed by a high-speed train in Florida.

The Delray Beach Police Department announced on Twitter that a pedestrian was hit Sunday by a northbound Brightline train about 100 feet (30 meters) south of a crossing. The pedestrian died at the scene, police say, adding they are seeking any witnesses.

Authorities say the pedestrian was the fourth person struck and killed by a high-speed train since service began between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach earlier this year. Three others were hit and survived.

Police: Man struck and killed by Brightline train in Delray Beach

In the meantime, my Evil Black Rifle has yet again failed to kill anybody. Hell, any of my guns have not killed anything but paper.

Maybe there is a gun manufacturer’s conspiracy after all.

Waco (Mini Series)

Waco is a must see. The missus and I finish watching it yesterday and it was good because for a change, you do not get another story based on the official bullshit we were fed during and after the incident. In fact, the series starts with Ruby Ridge and that colossal fuck up that led to the even bigger one in Texas.

The production value is high. When I saw the scenes of the Mount Carmel compound, I had a chill because the reproduction is almost perfect, matching what we saw on TV back then. Knowing it went up in smoke. and then seeing it again was eerie, like we were revisiting a ghost.

If you must do a binge, make it this one.

Because you cannot insult people and demand their loyalty

At The Denver Post on Monday, more than two dozen reporters, editors, photographers, videographers, page designers, digital producers and opinion staff will walk out the door. Our marching orders are to cut a full 30 by the start of July.
These heartbreaking instructions raise the question: Does this cut, which follows so many in recent years that our ranks have shriveled from more than 250 to fewer than 100 today, represent the beginning of the end for the Voice of the Rocky Mountain Empire?

Editorial: As vultures circle, The Denver Post must be saved

What’s happening to the Denver Post is not unique. Many old newspapers and printed media in general are suffering from a slump that is forcing their owners to make cuts in order to remain up and running and maybe even profitable.

I apologize for using the word “profit.” I understand that for many people in the News business, profit is a bad word that can never be said in front of polite intellectual company. To demand that a newspaper make a profit is like demanding to sacrifice virgins to satisfy some absurd god: it is stupid and immoral according to editors.

But the same editors steered the paper into the dire straits they are facing now.  The newspaper would not need to be going through these pains if they actually did something they are supposed to do since they opened their doors: Sell newspapers.

A flagship local newspaper like The Post plays a critically important role in its city and state: It provides a public record of the good and the bad, serves as a watchdog against public and private corruption, offers a free marketplace of ideas and stands as a lighthouse reflective and protective of — and accountable to — a community’s values and goals. A news organization like ours ought to be seen, especially by our owner, as a necessary public institution vital to the very maintenance of our grand democratic experiment.

These words would have had been effective say 10 years ago. Even today to us, old school readers, they manage to give the smallest of tugs in our hearts because we remember when newspapers were something you respected. But that respect went away when you chose sides and I don’t mean that the paper leaned one way or the other politically, that is to be expected, but when the majority of newspapers in the nation became propaganda rags and damage control tools for one party. You refused the vet candidates while digging for all kinds of nasty crap on their opponents. You sofballed the politicians on your side while asking their opposition if they stopped beating their wives. You constantly lied about subjects even though the data was present and logically impossible to refute because that is what the politicians of your side demanded to be published. You basically polluted that marketplace of ideas with your obvious bias and were not even smart enough to charge for it.

So when you insult your customers day in and day out, they do something strange: they abandon you. Your income tanks and you become a weak institution, prime target for somebody who wants to buy it cheap.

This in a market filled with hyper-educated citizens ready and able to afford great journalism should it be offered them.

That is funny as shit. You cannot produce a good-quality product but somehow you feel you are that product and are sure that if some rich Mexican Cell Phone entrepreneur comes along, you will be able to deliver that product to those hyper-educated citizens that already abandoned you because you simply suck.

The only advantage newspapers have over other media is that they are the ones that can do in-depth investigations and present it over a period of time. Their is not to rush for the 20 second spot over the air nor the quick headlines of a web feed. That niche alone should be enough to provide you with a nice income, enough to break even and keep people in the payroll.

But when people have grown to distrust that “investigation” because of the obvious lies and general misinformation they read in your pages, then you have cut your own throat and there is no way to save your sorry ass.

It is not that newspapers should disappear, in fact they should be brought back. What needs to disappear is the propaganda corps that runs newspapers across the nation and they better do it soon as the only reason many people still buy the newspapers is because of the coupons that come with it and not for the information.

London Metropolitan Police: 78 old man arrested for self defense “murder” has been released with no further action.

Remember the 78-year-old London man who killed a home invader in the wee hours of the night?

A man arrested following a fatal stabbing in Lewisham has been released with no further action.
The 78-year-old man was told on Friday, 6 April, that following consultation between the Met and Crown Prosecution Service, no action will be taken.

UPDATE: Death of man in Lewisham.

We find out one more bit of info I was not aware off initially.

The 78-year-old resident, who was at home with his wife, had found two men inside the address and a struggle ensued between him and the men.

The wife was home and I assume she was around the same age of the gentleman. That even makes his actions more justifiable.

I know this particular case has been making the rounds in blogs and Twitter and I’d say 99 to 1 were in favor of the defending senior. And I figure the thousands of reminders to the Tony Martin case may have swayed Met Police to go very easy on him.

Let’s hope the family of the scumbag does not decided to sue the pensioners.
