Remember this:

There is some good news:

No charges for man who drove through Tulsa protesters, DA says truck was attacked

Charges will not be filed against the driver of a pickup pulling a horse trailer that went through a crowd of protesters May 31 on Interstate 244, Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler announced Thursday.

The truck contained a man, his wife and their two school-aged children, and they told the OHP that they feared for their lives.

There were no horses in the trailer.

Kunzweiler’s memo states that the driver saw someone motion him to go through, following the lead of another car that was allowed to pass through the protesters that blocked the highway.

Then, “protesters descend upon” the truck, beating it, grabbing at it and throwing things at it, according to the memo.

“The children describe how their family vehicle was surrounded and repeatedly being struck. One child described the sound as if they were in a hail storm. The children’s mother echoed her children’s statements and described them as so scared they got on the floorboard of the truck, screaming and crying.”

” … the operator of the family truck and horse trailer and its occupants (which included two school age children) were the victims of a violent and unprovoked attack by multiple individuals who unnecessarily escalated an already dangerous circumstance by obstructing an interstate highway. Although the claim may be that this was a peaceful protest, there was nothing peaceful about the targeting and attack upon this family. Crimes were committed upon this family and the individuals responsible should be held accountable.”

The OHP documented damage to the truck: a broken windshield, a door handle torn off, a fractured grill, dents in multiple places.

Scaring the shit out of a family. Doing damage to the truck.  Getting caught on camera being violent.  The driver was in the right to drive on through and the district attorney recognized that.

It was previously reported that the crowd let a black diver through ahead of the truck, which is why the truck driver thought he could go through.

The protesters racially segregation highway access probably won them no favors.

Tulsa isn’t Portland.

One of the protesters jumped from the overpass and was paralyzed.

Play stupid games against an 8,000 lbs diesel truck hauling a gooseneck trailer and win a wheelchair for a prize.

As this shit gets worse we’re going to see more attacks on motorists.  Tulsa here is setting precedent on the rights of drivers being attacked to floor it on through.

  1. More editorial oversight:

” … the operator of the family truck and horse trailer and its occupants (which included two school age children) …

Wow, putting those school age children in the horse trailer, man thats cold.

Normally I’m not a grammar nazi, but this was too good to resist, also no coffee yet.?

  2. I wish you’d stop calling these people “ protestors.” They’re not nonviolent people singing “ We Shall Overcome” on the bridge in Selma. They’re thugs and rioters and should be treated accordingly.

  3. Looking for an update on that Steven Baca shooting in Albuquerque. Surely you two would have updated us on any news, right?

    🙂

    1. You mean the update about him being released and the gun charges being dropped? Here:. https://www.bizpacreview.com/2020/06/21/gun-charge-dropped-against-nm-man-forced-to-defend-himself-from-violent-protesters-others-pending-937224

Granted, this still has quite a ways to go before it’s all said and done, and a political back similar to the St. Louis circuit attorney may try to make hay from this still, but barring any bovine scatology of that nature, he’ll be fine.

  4. The woman in the picture leaning back to try to stop a BIG pickup is so stupid that she deserves to be run over just to improve IQ globally.

Ever hear of torque? Did she learn about physics, specifically mass? How about some knowledge about anatomy and orthopedic repair? The last thing she would hear would be the crunching sound of her skull collapsing under a tire.

  5. Oh noes, ScottTN. Bad news.

“On Monday, Torrez announced his office had amended the charging document once again, and Baca is again charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. One of the battery charges has been dropped.

Torrez said the investigation, which included interviews with Williams, other protesters, and the review of multiple videos, determined that Baca had been engaged in violent confrontations with other protesters for 20-30 minutes, leading the demonstrators to repeatedly try to push him out of the crowd.

“Any individual who would otherwise be able to claim self-defense cannot claim self-defense if he or she initiates a violent confrontation,” Torrez said. “It’s our belief that Mr. Baca was the first aggressor in this context and that the individual that he shot was acting in response to his violent provocation.”’

Not sure why Gun Free Zone doesn’t want to update its readership on this case because it’s an excellent example of what NOT to do when you’re carrying.
