The Elderly vs. Essential Workers: Who Should Get the Coronavirus Vaccine First?

With the coronavirus pandemic surging and initial vaccine supplies limited, the United States faces a hard choice: Should the country’s immunization program focus in the early months on the elderly and people with serious medical conditions, who are dying of the virus at the highest rates, or on essential workers, an expansive category encompassing Americans who have borne the greatest risk of infection?

“Teachers have middle-class salaries, are very often white, and they have college degrees,” he said. “Of course they should be treated better, but they are not among the most mistreated of workers.”

Harald Schmidt, an expert in ethics and health policy at the University of Pennsylvania, said that it is reasonable to put essential workers ahead of older adults, given their risks, and that they are disproportionately minorities. “Older populations are whiter, ” Dr. Schmidt said. “Society is structured in a way that enables them to live longer. Instead of giving additional health benefits to those who already had more of them, we can start to level the playing field a bit.”

But to protect older people more at risk, he called on the C.D.C. committee to also integrate the agency’s own “social vulnerability index.”

The index includes 15 measures derived from the census, such as overcrowded housing, lack of vehicle access and poverty, to determine how urgently a community needs health support, with the goal of reducing inequities.

See, the problem with giving the vaccine to the elderly – who are at greater risk – or teachers – who are essential- is that they are too white.

We can’t prioritize some vulnerable people if their ethnicity is wrong.  That’s not equitable.

Another government heath project with racism and eugenics deeply ingrained in it.

Who could have seen that coming?

Anyone familiar with the Tuskegee experiment, Dr. Mengele, the history of Planned Parenthood, people familiar with the Indian Health Service, Buck v. Bell, Japanese Unit 731, it’s a long list.

But this time it’s white people who will die so that’s fine then.

I swear “medical ethicist” is a term that means “someone who figures out how to justify the murder of undesirables.”

The scariest part is that they are willing to say this in the NYT.  Makes you wonder what they are not willing to say.

I found interesting death data from the CDC’s Covid Tracker about How bad Unlocked Florida is doing compared with New York which has been following “The Experts.”

Interesting how they have to split the data. I wonder why?

It seems that the Lockdowns in New York are not quite performing the way the brave and gracious Governor and Mayor keep touting.

The Left has been in tears since Trump ordered the killing of the man who coordinated the delivery of advanced Iranian produced armor-piercing weapons to Iraqi insurgents to use against US troops.

They mourned the “murder” of the “austere religious scholar.”

They know if they struck back now, the hell that would rain down upon them would be fission powered.

If they wait until the day after Biden is sworn in, the Left will naval gaze and explain to the rest of us how we deserved it because Trump murdered a great Iranian leader and we should not respond and just take our lumps, and Biden will listen.

Personally, I think Trump in his last week of being a lame-duck President, should do the US and the Sunni Muslim world a favor and have the weather over Iran on January 19th be musroom cloudy with a 100% chance of W88s.

I had forgotten that the county elected a Democrat for Mayor. It is mostly because the MD County mayors are by definition not very effective and the best they can hope for is not to screw the pooch. EWe have 34 municipalities within the county, so you can imagine the cluster flock of “mayoralships” trying to run this place…which is a good thing and the reason why State Preemption is  important in the State.

But back to her Majesty’s largess upon us, citizens of the County. I believe that the actual curfew was somewhat obeyed the first night back in July (or maybe earlier) and has not been obeyed since.

As an official Old Fart, I will admit that the fireworks still popping at 3 am is kind of an annoyance and would not mind people to end their explosive celebrations by 1 am, but the Mayor can go sit on a dry palmetto and wait till I make my decision to agree with her.

Cussing at firework-popping neighbors at 3 am is Freedom. Shutting them down because mayoral hard-ons is not quite what this republic stands for.

And if you listening carefully, you can hear the gastric acid churning inside the bodies of the paper’s editorial staff.

I will spare you of the comments, but they go from fake stats to the obvious “on the backs of the people killed.” The fact that Florida seems to be doing better both in the pandemic front and the economic front is driving Liberal crazy.  And add to that that the vaccine for the Wuhan V is already being distributed in the State which means we have begun to have less and less excuses for lockdowns and general Covid stupidity has to be killing them.

That the massive attack on DeSantis has happened after the election is not coincidental. Florida voted massively and beat the the margin of cheating so somebody has to pay. Since they can’t attack the voters (specially with the beatdown the democrats took in the legislature) the obvious target has to be DeSantis and his re-election in 2 years.

Of course, when even you even have Dr. Fauci stating that we could be back to normal by next fall because of the vaccine, it will be hard (but not impossible) to convince South Floridians that DeSantis is Mini Hitler and to vote for whatever whoremonger junkie they will tell you is the better option because he is a Democrat.
