5 types of customers since the “rona”

From an anonymous UPS delivery driver…
5 types of customers since the “rona”:

1) Steve:
He has been waiting for this moment his whole life. He has been drinking boilermakers since 10:00 am in his recliner and his AR is within arms reach. He has 6 months provisions in the basement and a bug out bag due west buried in the woods. Steve demands a handshake as I give him his package. He’s sizing me up as I deliver his ammo.

Steve will survive this, and he will kill you if he needs to.

2) Brad:
He is standing at his window wearing skinny jeans and a Patagonia t-shirt. He is mad because there were no organic tomatoes at Whole Foods today. He points at the ground where he has taped a 6 ft no go zone line from his porch. I leave his case of Fuji water, organic granola bites, and his new “Bernie Bro” hat at the tape.

Brad will not survive.
Steve will probably eat him.

3) Nancy:
She has sprayed everything with Thieves oil. Bought all the Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, meat, and bread from the local grocery chain. She has quarantined her kids and sprays them with a mixture of thieves, lavender, & mint essential oils daily. She has posted every link known to man about “The Rona” on her social media. She will spray you if you break the 6 ft rule. I will leave her yet another case of toilet paper.

She will last longer than Brad, but not Steve.

4) Karen:
She has called everybody and read them the latest news on “The Rona”. She asked for the manager at Food Lion, Walmart, Publix, McDonalds, Chi-Fil-A, and Vons all before noon demanding more toilet paper. Karen’s kids are currently faking “The Rona” to avoid her. I’m delivering “Hello kitchen” to her.

Karen will not survive longer than Brad.

5) Mary:
Is sitting in the swing watching her kids have a water balloon fight in the front yard as she is on her fourth glass of wine. She went to the store and bought 2 cases of pop tarts, 6 boxes of cereal, 8 bags of pizza rolls, And a 6 roll pack of toilet paper. There is a playlist of Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, and Post Malone playing in the background. I’m bringing her second shipment of 15 bottles of wine in 3 days.

Mary will survive and marry Steve.
Together they will repopulate the earth.
May God have mercy on us all.

Alyssa Milano and the Coronavirus Gun Surge

Sad Alyssa is sad.

You figure they would have a new script. But still you have to give her props for keeping with the bull.

I wonder how would they feel if they actually saw the real numbers of firearms populating the country. According to ATF’s 2019 Firearms Commerce In the United States, the year 2017 (last one in the report) a total of 8,327,792 firearms were manufactured in the US. Not all remain in country though but 488,300 went to see other pastures beyond our frontiers or only 5.5% of the production. But wait! There is more!  We actually imported 4,305,851 fireams from sources abroad bringing the total of firearms in commerce in the USA for the year of the Lord 2017 to 12,633,643.

This ain’t chicken feed. That is enough guns in one year to arm several of the top armies of the world.  For 2018, ammunition manufacturers  produced 8.1 billion rounds of ammunition for the civilian market and out of that the most I heard the Federal government spend is just over 1 billion dollars.

The practical principle of Gun Control is dead, there is no way it can be achieved physically even with great loss of life. The problem is most of the Antis do not mind you dying a gruesome death and the believe themselves immune to the bloodbath they are pushing. We underrated better and that is why we continue to fight at the legislative and legal level.  We know once that switch is flipped, the consequences will be permanent.

PS: Alyssa’s botox job does not look half bad.

European cultures vs. the US – 1914 edition

My commute to work is much longer than it used give be so I’m filling my brain with audiobooks.

I’m in the beginning of The Guns of August, a magnificent history of WWI.

It’s  amazing to listen to this book and to see how WWI happened, how much of it was a continuation of the German invasion of France in 1870.  Many of the German and French generals in WWI were young officers in 1870.

Then to see how the dominoes of WWI have continued to topple to today.

WWII was really WWI 2.0.  Everyone took a break for a generation to repopulate, then went right back at it.  WWII precipitated the Cold War.  The fall of the Ottoman Empire of Turkey caused today’s Middle East mess.

But that is not the focus of this post.

In the book, I’m at the part were Germany invaded Belgium to engage the northern flank of France because of the German military philosophy of envelopment.

The Belgian government confiscated Belgians’ guns to prevent the Belgian civilians from shooting German soldiers to prevent reprisals from the German army against civilians.

That didn’t stop the Germans from killing civilians or burning their homes. The German army even executed Belgian priests because the Germans wanted to demoralize the Belgians into not fighting and letting them march through to France.

At that moment I thought just how different Americans are.  If we were invaded, even if the government told Americans to turn in their weapons, we wouldn’t.

After the first German soldier shot an American civilian, the shit would hit the fan for the Germans.

You know Americans would make a game out of shooting German soldiers, one point for a body hit, three for a hit through the pickelhaube,  five for an officer.

I’d suspect the biggest job for the US army would be to go door to door collecting the machineguns and grenades that Americans collected off the bodies of dead invading Germans.

The European attitude on guns is nothing new and this bit from The Guns of August really drives home how different we really are from them.

Big news DGU in Oklahoma that nobody reported

This story is over a week old, and I am sorry for that.  It took a while to filter its way to me, you’ll see why in a moment.

Concealed carry permit holder fatally shoots armed woman outside north Tulsa shopping center

A concealed carry permit holder fatally shot a woman outside a north Tulsa shopping center Friday evening after she reportedly opened fire on customers.

A man with a concealed carry permit reportedly told arriving officers that he shot the woman after she started shooting at customers outside the shopping center.

Video reportedly showed the woman was involved in an earlier altercation in the parking lot. The woman left the shopping center and returned about three minutes later, when she pulled a gun and opened fire.

We have a concealed carry permit holder defending the lives of innocent people.

We have a female attempted mass shooter.

It happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma, far from any coast.

It happened during the Coronacrisis.

Of course, no major news outlet would report on this.

However, we should know about it.  It is a reminder that even when a major, worldwide crisis is eating up all the news of the day, that doesn’t stop he normal bad stuff that happens from happening.

We cannot lose our vigilance because we allow ourselves to be swamped with all this other stuff.

Stay safe out there.

A return to a bad normal

The Coronavirus Crisis, or Coronacrisis, might be coming to an end sooner than we thought.

I say that because, for at least a couple of weeks, people were so fixated on critical things that we as a society were able to tune out unimportant bullshit.

As it turns out, victim mongering and oppression Olympics was unimportant bullshit that morally vacuous people used to leverage power when they had no other useful skills.

I have recently seen these people returning to social media to push a message of Coronacrisis victim status.

First, from the co-founder of BLM:

This is the new narrative.  The Coronavirus response was racist and minorities suffered more because of systemic racism.

I’m particularly disgusted by the idea that our health care system is “anti-black.”

Then there were these two Tweets from the Michigan Attorney General (yes, really).

Are only black health care workers, police officers, or bus drivers dying or does she only care about black civil service workers?

Also, the rest of this is a racist screed.  I’ve head very little about not being able to go golfing but a lot about small businesses going under as they are unable to provide full or any services at this time.

If she does want to bring up golf, how about all those people who make their living as golf instructors or the people who manage golf clubs.  Right now their revenue is zero, so perhaps they want to know when they can go back to work?

Then there was this headline from the New York Post that gives this all away:

AOC wants coronavirus ‘reparations’ for minority communities

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called for coronavirus reparations for minorities, claiming higher numbers of COVID-19 fatalities in low-income communities stems from underlying inequality.

“COVID deaths are disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities,” Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tweeted to her 6 million followers on Friday morning.

“Why? Because the chronic toll of redlining, environmental racism, wealth gap, etc. ARE underlying health conditions,” the Bronx-born lawmaker added.

That’s the point.

If they can establish the narrative that the Coronacrisis was an inconvenience to white people but a lethal and destructive tragedy to the minority community, then they are on better footing to demand special treatment when this is all over.

In their minds, the white person who went bankrupt because their business was forced to close and who lost an elderly relative to the virus isn’t as deserving because they are white and their suffering didn’t stem from historic inequity.

This is cynical, grotesque, obscene, and divisive.  It takes what should be a moment of national unity and collective mourning and balkanizes us.

In a perverse way, I think this is good news.  It shows that we must be nearing the end of this crisis because the people without critical skills are beginning to jockey for the grievance based victim status power they use as leverage over others under normal circumstances.

However, I can’t see anything good coming from politicians pointing to some and saying “your pain and suffering is less than that of others because you are privileged and therefore you deserve less.”

This is something from the “before times” that I do not want to see return as we come back to normalcy.

My hope is that the majority of people will have liked the break this nation took from racial division for the last few weeks and will tell those who try to start it up again to go fuck themselves with an old fencepost.

Holiday dad joke

It was Easter and a great king decided that he wanted to throw a huge Easter party and invite all the nobles from all the lands near and far.

He sent word to all the other kings, and dukes, and barons, and chevaliers to come to his party and to bring with them their traditional Easter dishes so that they could all celebrate together.

On the evening of the party, the nobles from lands near and far came bringing sweet Easter breads, smoked hams, delicious pies, fancy tortes, flans dripping with syrup, delicate chocolates, fluffy souffle, and all sorts wonderful things to eat.

That was except for one lone vassal.  His squire laid out the most humble-looking foods, squares of Matzoh, gefilte fish, horseradish, and cholent.

The king stood up, frowning at the cold fish balls and flatbread sitting among the beautiful dainties brought by the other nobles.

Then the king asked, “can anyone tell me why this knight is different from all the other knights?”
