Yesterday was the Trans Day of Remembrance. That is the day, every year, in which we remember all the trans people who were murdered in the United States.
It trended on Twitter.
It came the day after International Men’s Day.
If you want to understand Leftist Woke intersectionality, unlike #InternationalMensDay, the countless corporations and several US politicians were sure to Tweet their supports for #TransDayOfRemembrance.
The real reason I wanted to bring this day up, was because the focus of the day is on the “epidemic” of trans homicides in this country.
At least 37 transgender or gender-nonconforming people have been murdered in 2020. Most are trans women of color. I don’t want to seem too flippant about that. Murder is bad, always.
My point is this:
Take the homicide rate from 2019. It was, according to the FBI, 16,425 people.
If you extrapolated that to this year, 37 trans homicides amount to 0.22% of all victims. Studies have suggested that 0.5% of the population is “gender non-conforming.” That means that the murder rate is disproportionately low for trans people, roughly half the rate for representation.
But, that’s not the only factor to consider. If you look at the 37 trans homicide victims in this country, the majority were not killed for being trans. They were the unfortunate victims of everyday crime, mostly robberies.
I must point out that Out is an LGBT magazine, but that article points out when trans people were misgendered or “dead named” by the media. For local crime stories, the local media generally gets information straight from the police. If a trans person has ID with their “dead name” and the coroner identifies a body from anatomy, and that is what gets reported, that’s not a hate crime against a transperson. It’s not the like press goes around and getting personal biographical information for a one-paragraph local crime story.
But I digress…
So most murdered trans people are not murdered for being trans. That is, as far as murders go, good news. It seems that the US is not a terribly transphobic place in which citizens go around hunting trans people.
But in 2020, this day really rankled me.
Here is why.
Progressive politics have caused a spike in murders across the country. Defunding the police, politicians attacking the police, politicians letting criminals out of jail due to COVID, bail reform, every bad progressive idea on law and order has radically increased the homicide rate in just about every major city in this country.

These are just some examples.
Let’s look at Chicago. Homicides spiked in Chicago in 2016. In the following three years, homicides decreased substantially. Then 2020 reversed that and 2020 is going to beat Chicago’s 2016 record.
Last year, Chicago had 472 homicides, so far this year it’s 711. That is an increase in 239 homicides as of me writing this post.
Progressive policies directly lead to 239 (so far) more homicides this year than last year. That’s 6.4 times as many trans people murdered.
In Los Angeles, as of October, there were 261 homicides, a 25% increase over the previous year. That means 53 more homicides this year over last, due to Progressive policies.
In New York City there were 321 between January and September of 2020, compared to 230 in the same time period in 2019. That is 91 more murders.
Over and over again we have seen cities that have had more murders this year than last year.
Yet the Left only stops to have a day of remembrance for 37 murders, and only because the victims were gender non-conforming.
The Left doesn’t care about murders unless they can use them to advance some political agenda. In this case, Woke victim status.
This year, it is uniquely disgusting to take mostly random homicides and try to claim victim status from them when these same people are causing hundreds and thousands of more people to be murdered with their policies.
Clearly, some murder victims are more equal than others.
And, most transgenders generally do not take 100% of all possible safety precautions. Some are in prostitution, others drugs. Generally, trans is a mental disorder that brings along all the frills associated with other mental disorders.
That only 37 trans genders were killed is a surprise. I would have thought it would be a lot more.
There have been more blacks killed during the increase in Chicago alone so far this year than are killed by police nationwide annually.
Real comparison numbers don’t matter. Only talking points and memes.
To quote Ayn Rand, ” The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them.” So by creating conditions where more crime exists, government creates the conditions that permit them to make more laws, which grants them more power.
The greatest open secret in the LGBT community is how frequently transgender women are involved in prostitution. We all know it, but none of us ever talk about it… Except me, but I’ve never been one to keep my mouth shut about controversial subjects.
I don’t have any first-hand knowledge of these thirty-seven deaths, but I’d wager that at least a third to half of them involved prostitution in some way. Either the provider being murdered by the John, being murdered by their pimp, or during a dispute between two prostitutes over reputation or turf.
Then there’s the culture of homosexual African-American men to “keep it on the down low.” Urban African-American culture is incredibly homophobic towards itself, African-American men are under tremendous social pressure to stay in the closet, often daring multiple women, having several kids, even marrying. All whilst having sex with men in secret.
An African-American man who has sex with a transgender woman will have tremendous social pressure on them to keep their encounter(s) secret. Oftentimes, when an African-American transgender woman is killed, her murderer is an African-American man trying to stay “down low.”
But, of course, we’re never supposed to acknowledge any of this. Just look away and blame Trump.
Every word of that is true. My cousin was gay (he passed, he didn’t stop being gay). He got involved in the darker side of the gay culture down in Miami. Late night anonymous sex in public rest rooms on the beach or in clubs. That’s why he died, he got HIV and died from the complications.
A lot of black men were involved in that. They couldn’t be out and gay, so they engaged in anonymous hookups. HIV spread like wildfire that way.
Honestly, that’s why I really feel sorry for Senator Corey Booker. I truly believe that he’s gay. Never married, always pushes LGBT issues in the Senate, questions witnesses about LGBT rights (see his questions to Trump nominees).
He has fabricated a narrative about himself as a tough black man from Newark, I believe to escape the fact that he is super privileged. His parents were IBM executives and he want to Stanford. But he wants to be taken seriously by the black community so he can’t be “rich kid with a Stanford degree” he has to be “T-Bone from Camden.”
But now he’s trapped. He can’t come out of the closet or he will lose that support from the black community.
If he were a gay black man from a Ivy League, the black community would drop him like a hot rock.
I really do feel sorry for him.
That’s the scary thing about the merger between collectivism and identity politics. Once the collective has decided on what your role is, you cannot deviate from the script.
That’s a good point. My theory was that many of them were killed because of a combination of a greater statistical chance for any particular black man to shoot at you when he is angry or feels his “respect” has been infringed, and the general misogyny and homophobia, which are another facet of the same apparent self-esteem issues. There are a lot of dangerous black men in the inner cities, mostly dangerous to their own people, and trans people are more likely to be in social proximity to them than middle class black suburbanites, for example. This is a typical side effect of mental illness, that you are cast down among the lower dregs of society, which can be dangerous in a number of ways. Black trans end up among black men more often than they do among white men, and black men are even more sensitive to any “taint” of homosexuality or “weakness” than even lower class white men are. They are also statistically many times more likely to kill someone who offends them, especially if they are also black. I figure black trans women end up hitting on the wrong black guy, who maybe doesn’t realize the truth until he has been “humiliated”, or maybe it goes even further than that, and the guy only realizes that the “sexy bitch” who’s been all over his nuts all evening is actually a GUY, and probably other people know! The only way to salvage his respect is to shoot them down to prove that he isn’t any weakling or “fag”, etc.
Obviously this doesn’t happen often….I mean, 37 total for the year, FFS….but often enough that it will lead to more black trans deaths. That and their rate of suicide is probably higher since their social pressures are even worse than in the white community.

WaitWaitWait! transgender folks are murdered at something like ONE HALF of their rate of representation in general society, and THIS IS A BAD THING? And, moreover, Demon Trump is at fault?
So, (cue black kid looking askance at white female aid worker), what you’re telling me, is if Trump were not a demon, transgendered folks would be murdered at a rate in excess!!! of their percentage in the general population?
