  1. This entire “COVID passport” is nothing but a way of enforcing a national ID system in a way that is palatable to half of America. Had there been police running checkpoints on trains, saying “papers, please” the howls of outrage would have been universal.
Instead, the checking of a government administered vaccine passport by businesses is a way to institute total control over a population, with half of them cheering you on while asking for more.
    We’ve defeated fascism, doncha know.

    1. It’s totally fine to have a mandatory national ID, required for buying groceries, all in the name of fighting the public health crisis… as long as there’s an exemption for, er, undocumented citizens of the world.
All’s ya gotta do is sneak across the border to Mexico, get caught sneaking back, pretend not to speak English, and you’ll get your “undocumented citizen of the world” card, right?

  2. Had this very conversation yesterday; and several people said, “meh, it’s no different than a driver’s license. You have to show that to do all kinds of things.” We are doomed.

    1. That brings up an amusing notion. Suppose one were to propose a vaccine passport requirement to vote? Just imagine the cognitive dissonance on the far left resulting from that idea.

      1. pkoning — The cognitive dissonance on the far left? None. Zero. They do not experience it. It’s an odd phenomenon, but they can be completely contradictory in their positions and at total peace with it.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
