Another School Lockdown…. We are now into full retard mode.

WESLEY CHAPEL —
Lockdowns at Wesley Chapel high and elementary schools as well as Thomas E. Weightman Middle School have been lifted.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office responded to Wesley Chapel High School where a student reported to school officials she had some type of cut/injury to her upper torso.

Next week or so, I am expecting a full SWAT deployment because some 4 grader passed gas rather loudly.

Sweet Irony Chicago (Update)

Moms Demand are having one of their traditional hissy fits about a Billboard in the Chicago area portraying an Evil Ghost Assault Gun with 1/2 second assault magazine clips.

It is good to see that such a progressive police department like Chicago’s would not stoop so low as to have their officers use such disgusting weapons in the performance of their duties, now would it?

Specially AR-Type rifles like the one on the billboard, right? As they are not Military but a Civilian LEO organization and those type of weapons only belong on the battlefield.

Then again Chicago’s crime and dominance of the streets by Gangs may very well make it a battlefield…..nah!

UPDATE: Billboard company responds:

Basically: Shush and let the adults alone.

A smidget of common sense in Ohio

A bill would require the state’s attorney general to develop a training model for school employees who are allowed to carry concealed weapons.

School boards would have to consult with local police to develop school safety protocols, if districts decide to let certain employees carry concealed weapons. The measure would shield the names of gun-carrying employees and block protocols for carrying concealed weapons from being part of collective bargaining negotiations.

State law limits the people who can have a deadly weapon in a school safety zone to security guards, on-duty officers and others whom a district’s board has given permission. The bill would allow off-duty officers to also carry weapons.

The House passed the bill 62-28 on Wednesday, sending it to the Senate

I don’t know what kind of reception the bill will have in the senate or if approved, signed by the Governor.  Let’s hope it goes all the way and be ready to hear the lamentations of the Antis assuring us that the armed teachers will become bumbling nutjobs that will shoot kids for chewing gum in class.

Armed Robbery Behavior Reassessment

WSVN-TV – 7NEWS Miam Ft. Lauderdale News, Weather, Deco

“The robbery happened, Monday, when a man attempted to rob the F.M. Food Market corner store, near Northwest 76th Street and 17th Avenue, in Northwest Miami-Dade.

According to police, the suspect entered the store, pulled the gun and demanded cash from the clerk. The suspect, however, did not know the clerk had a weapon of his own.

The video shows an exchange of gunfire between a clerk and the robber. The suspect is then seen taking off.”

The clerk had two guns available as seen in the video which indicates at least a decent level of smart. But the way he was holding the gun indicates that he might be in need of additional training.

And just when we thought we have gotten rid of old clichés, Miami-Dade Police lieutenant John Jenkins resurrects an old verbal zombie:

“We don’t ever advise anyone to confront an armed subject and take action in their own hands,”

If that is the best way to deal with armed people, how come it is not the way Police Officers do it? God knows that if they even suspect a gun might be on a criminal, theirs go out and sing the bang-bang song.

The clerk responded at a deadly force situation with determination and got to go home unharmed. That is the best outcome in anybody’s book.

The School Shooting Hysteria about to Backfire.

In an effort to fuel the fires of stupidity, it has become official to associate any crime related to firearms somewhere in the same county that has a school as a “School Shooting!”  The abuse is such that a saturation level is being reached as it happened in Purdue a couple of days ago when some teachers continued to teach even after the “ZOMG! WE ARE GONNA DIE!” alert was given.

First, let’s be clear: Crime on campuses are nothing new up and including those involved with firearms. The Antis know it, we know it and even the cat under the stairs know it. A famous case down here was Nathaniel Brazill who shot his teacher in the face and killed him.  No campus lockdown for 10 miles or calling the Navy Seals back then.

People are getting tired of the BS and they will promptly will issue the proper backlash on this stupidity. We are now to the point that if something happens near a school, they have to go Zombie Defense Alert, lower the portcullis and assume pile-up position on a corned of the classroom.

“But Miguel… it is just to be safe! There was a shooting! The bad guys might be nearby!” except when they are not. Check this example that happened yesterday not far from here:

MIRAMAR, Fla. (WSVN) — Miramar Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a Miramar home that resulted in the shutdown of City Hall and the lockdown of two schools.

Wednesday afternoon, Miramar Police homicide investigators spent the day outside a home where 23-year-old Joey Delancey lost his life. …….According to Miramar Police, early Wednesday morning, Delancey came to a friend’s home at 6100 SW 41 St. when a red Nissan Altima pulled up and a group of men in that car began arguing with Delancey. Suddenly, shots rang out and Delancey was killed. “……..The suspects took off to Miramar’s Town Center complex where an officer found a vehicle that matched the description. “The suspect vehicle was then spotted near the Town Center, parked near the library,” said Rues. “We secured the scene. We had multiple officers enter the library and detain two individuals inside the library. It appears that they are connected to the suspect vehicle.”

Police detained the men who were inside the library and told police they were looking for information on Broward classes. Police are not calling them suspects.

No problem right? OK look at this map:

Miramar Town Center

So, the only place where a shooting was known to have happened was 7 miles away from where a town center and schools were ordered to freak out and shut down.

We are seeing more and more of this crap just for theater purposes. It is an inefficient usage of police resources and creates an unnecessary and constant wave of fear that makes for not the best school atmosphere. It is sadly funny that the ones that accuse us of being paranoid are the ones pushing for this constant state of panic.

You can only cry wolf so many times till it bites you in the ass.
