Month: December 2018

Now the media cares about voter fraud

I saw a Tweet this morning that has driven me apoplectic.

First the AP broke the story about the outcome of the NC-9 Congressional race.

Then Nate Silver jumped in with this:

For the better part of a month, we saw banana republic level skeeziness in Broward and Palm Beach counties in Florida, Georgia, Arizona, California, and Maine.

In Florida, there were eye witness reports and cellphone video of unsecured ballots being delivered out of the backs of cars.  There were affidavits signed by witnesses of poll workers “correcting” ballots and changing the votes on them.  Election supervisors kept the media and Republican witnesses out of the recount until a court forced a change.

In California, 100% of contested elections swung Democrat.

Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action.

Seven times is a fucking coup.

The way the media has responded to this is is biased as you can thing.

Anybody who questioned what was going on in Florida or Arizona was accused of being a racist or undermining democracy.

This is the title of a Mother Jones article, but it sums up the media’s opinion on the situation.

Why Has It Taken California So Long to Count Ballots? Because It Actually Wants Every Vote to Count.

Yes, the Left wants every vote to count.  It is the evil Republicans who don’t want votes to count and want to disenfranchise voters.

The Left wants every vote to count, like the illegal immigrants who were given the right to vote on local elections in California but filled out the whole ballot.

The illegal immigrants who were registered to vote because of California’s motor voter law.

The people who were registered multiple times because of California’s motor voter law.

The dead people who voted absentee from the grave because purging voter roles of dead people is “racist.”

All that is perfectly fine and anybody who questions it is undermining democracy.

But one person who was a volunteer for one Republican Congressional candidate in North Carolina might have, maybe, done something and it’s an election scandal.

The media that was telling us last month how we don’t need voter ID because election fraud never happens is going to explode with “election fraud happens and it’s all the Republican’s fault” stories tomorrow.

I know it is easy to dismiss stuff like with “that’s just whataboutism” but at some point unfairness becomes a problem.

We seem to really be heading into am election situation in the United States that parallels what we see in banana republics and South American dictatorships.

The votes get counted and The Party wins.  The challenging party gets enough votes for The Party to say “see it was a fair election *wink wink*” but everyone knows it’s horseshit.

When Democrats cheat all over the place it’s “every vote counts.”

If there is the accusation of a lone Republican cheating in one race it’s a national emergency.

Welcome to the United States of North Venezuela.

Leaving guns in a car the secure way. A proposal.

I have been ruminating the issue of people leaving their guns in the cars in a less than secure manner. And before some dumb ass legislator comes with the idea of “There ought to be a law” I figure we could do stuff on our own.

How about we dedicate 2019 to do an adult and vehicular version of NSSF’s Project Child Safe? I doubt we can get free car gun safes for free, but make the idea of securing firearms in a car a crusade? Let’s not wait for an organization to do it, but make it grow from the Grassroots level?

We need your ideas. It could be prices of gun boxes, installation tips, contacts with safe manufacturers to get discount coupons, etc. Please, make it so all economic brackets can have a chance at some level of security in the car. The professionally installed high-tech long gun safe at $5000 is nice, but not everybody can afford it. Can you make a video for YouTube? Great! We even need logos to make it look cool 🙂

Let us know in the comments. Let’s start building something. This is something that will have many great consequences: Gun owners will not lose property and be subject to vehicular damage. Criminals will  not have easy access to guns and maybe somebody’s life will be spared and Cops may not have to deal with two or more crimes for the price of one event.

If you don’t see something, look for it till you find it.

“Who denounced you?’ said Winston. ‘It was my little daughter,’ said Parsons with a sort of doleful pride. ‘She listened at the keyhole. Heard what I was saying, and nipped off to the patrols the very next day. Pretty smart for a nipper of seven, eh?”
1984 – George Orwell.

A Massachusetts landlord told a Harvard University graduate student that he wanted her to move out of her apartment because her legally owned firearms made some of her roommates uncomfortable…
Pirnie said she feels her roommates violated her privacy and now they and her landlord are trying to violate her rights.
“A few weeks ago, I came back to my apartment from a weekend trip and was confronted by one of my roommates who asked if I had guns in the house,” she told the Free Beacon. “After being told far too many lies to count, my roommates finally admitted that they searched my closet, under my bed, and all of my drawers in pursuit of finding my guns.”

Landlord Tells Harvard Student to Move Out Over Legally Owned Guns

Have you noticed that the Left does not fear the application of “Snitches Get Stitches” from Gun owners even though we have a reputation for violence?  But I think it was not the guns that they are afraid of but just hate her for one reason:

“When I asked them why they were in my room to begin with, they each came up with completely contradicting stories (none of which made any sense), but one comment struck me in particular: ‘We saw that you had a MAGA hat and come on, you’re from Alabama… so we just kind of assumed that you had something,'”

She had a MAGA hat so she had to be expunged from the surroundings. It does not make sense actually get somebody who owns guns and you allegedly fear may do something violent , denounced and telling her she need to go because guns.

They simply hated her because of the hat and the guns were just an excuse to ostracize her.

Don’t Speak Ill Of The Departed

I’ll let a New York Times article do some remembrance:

The (George H.) Bush Administration declared a permanent ban today on almost all foreign-made semiautomatic assault rifles. Imports of the weapons have been suspended since spring.
The permanent ban affects all but 7 of the 50 models included in the spring suspension. It does not affect the far larger number of virtually identical weapons manufactured domestically, nor does it affect foreign-made semiautomatic weapons already in the United States…

Administration officials said that without the ban 700,000 to one million foreign-made assault weapons would have been imported into the United States this year, but they acknowledged that the slack would easily be taken up by domestic manufacturers. A Significant Step
”We’re not saying it will solve the basic problem,” said Stephen E. Higgins, director of the firearms bureau, who announced the ban…

Today’s decision is a significant step in the evolution of the Administration’s gun control policies. It puts President Bush clearly at odds with the National Rifle Association and will almost certainly increase pressures on him to approve restrictions or an outright ban on domestic versions of semiautomatic assault weapons…

Senator Metzenbaum said he would ask the Senate Judiciary Committee to approve legislation barring domestically manufactured assault weapons when it meets next Thursday.
Asserting that domestic assault weapons were ”favored by drug dealers and street gangs,” he added, ”Any police officer will tell you it doesn’t matter if you are killed by an imported or American-made assault weapon -you are just as dead.”

Georgia Police department asking Citizens to provide the serial numbers of firearms…sure, why not?

CCPD Capt. Daniel Flood said, “Unfortunately, we’ve seen a big increase in the number of guns that have been stolen from unlocked cars. From burglaries and that type of thing.” He added, “About a third of them don’t have serial numbers. [The gun owners] don’t record the serial numbers.”

Flood is asking county residents to provide their serial numbers via a database so that if their guns are stolen police will have the information. He says that will enable police to find the gun if it is taken to a pawn shop in another county or state too

Georgia Police Department Asking Residents to Provide Firearm Serial Numbers

Is this guy for real? How dense can he be? We have an undeniable issue which is people leaving unsecured weapons in cars and rather than going “Hey people! Get yourselves a small gun safe for the car and would you please take all of five minutes to record your gun’s serial number somewhere? We would appreciate it and I am sure it will come handy  if you are going to put an insurance claim. Thanks!”

Nah, too easy. Instead why don’t we create a database and tell Citizens for their own safety and convenience that we want their gun’s serial numbers.

The sad part? There will be a couple of dense Mike Foxtrots that indeed will be gullible enough to do so.
