I hope I am not alone in the sentiment. This kind of blockades upgraded from annoyance to ambush points.
We better have a plan to deal with road closures.

Put it to the floor and duck!! Sad part is drivers will go thru unshirted hell and maybe end up in prison… We the People have to get these laws fixed.
Annoyingly predictable, the MSM immediately deflected any facts that effect their DemonKKKrat group-think and promptly went full bore with a “white luxury car” narrative (guessing white cars are raycisst now?) and their usual must-be-Trump’s-fault b.s.

The narrative is that the road was “closed”. That term means closed by law enforcement, in a way that makes it clear to people they aren’t supposed to go there.
Is that accurate in this case? The video I saw is not conclusive but it suggests a normal open highway with rioters’ cars parked across the road to block it. Those were clearly civilian cars, not cop cars with cop strobe lights. The driver, coming upon this unexpected obstacle in the middle of the night, avoided it by going onto the breakdown lane, then attempted to avoid the crowd of rioters on that lane by swerving back into the road. Unfortunately for him, a few of the rioters dodged in that same direction and were hit.
What part of the story am I missing? If I’m not missing anything, what is this “motive” thing the cop is blathering about?
I’ve seen the same comments by the state patrol that the interstate was closed. Think I read that the road had been closed several days due to the protesters blocking traffic.
State patrol stated they were unsure how this driver got onto the highway.
I’m assuming that’s why people keep saying they don’t know if this was “targeted”.
Not really a ton of information available on what happened, but plenty of speculation.

The Evil White Supremacists hired a Black Ethiopian hitman to specifically target those two women dressed in dark clothes in the middle of a crowd on a Limited Access, No Pedestrians Allowed Interstate Freeway I-5 with his WHITE car because their names were SUMMER Taylor and Diaz LOVE. Those evil White Supremacists wanted to kill the Summer of Love.
This tragedy has nothing to do with the Liberal Mayor of Seattle and Liberal Governor of Washington state allowing protesters to wander wherever they want and do whatever they want night after night in Seattle. Anyone that wants to fault the protesters or their enablers in government are obviously murdering fascist White Supremacists.
Actually, this sounds a lot like what happened in Minneapolis Sunday May 31. The State Highway Patrol was closing the freeways at 6 pm due to all the riots the week previously.
A bunch of (2,000-3,000) demonstrators were walking around on the I-35W bridge across the Mississippi River at about 5 pm. A (thankfully unloaded) semi fuel tanker and a bunch of cars got on the freeway before it was officially closed. The semi driver came barreling around a 90 degree curve, up a hill, and then suddenly,
“OMFG!!!! There are 2,000 fucking people in front of Me!!! Packed Across all three lanes!!! On A Bridge with NO PLACE TO GO!!!”
Luckily the crowd and the driver were able to dodge each other. The unloaded truck was able to stop before it reached the mass of the crowd. No one was hurt, until the crowd dragged the driver out of the truck and started beating him. Luckily a half dozen cooler heads in the crowd prevailed and protected the driver until the police arrived.
Imagine if it was at night? Would the driver have been able to see the crowd as quickly? Would the crowd have reacted as quickly and moved out of the way?
It was an unfortunate incident, but the driver still got beaten. Thankfully some in the mob protected him.

Funny the biased assumptions of the TV reporter. On one hand he’s all like “OMG this driver is a murder-death-kill bastard” while on the other he’s saying that he doesn’t know what the crowd that RIPPED THE DRIVER OFF THE TRUCK CAB could be doing or plan to do “interact.”

All drivers need to remember that all doors have to be locked at all times.
