Condor Rip-Away EMT Pouch

You may remember I posted about needing an inexpensive paramedic bag about a month ago (still deciding on that) and  Reader Chris was kind enough to gift me a Condor Rip-Away EMT Pouch as add-on to the system.

I am probably the last guy in the Gun Community that has not used Molle in some fashion, even as a pen holder, so I will leave the expertise on what could be done to others. The overall dimensions: 7″H x 5″W x 2.5″D according to their website and it comes in the usual tactical colors. I picked red to go old school First Aid color that is still embedded in my brain.

It comes with a long strap which can be used as shoulder strap or to be around a bigger bag sans Molle or like to a seat of a vehicle or even a fixed aid station and here is the cute part:

You can brag the top handle in an emergency and it separate from whatever is attached to it. IMHO that is a neat detail.

I tested the inside by using the items of my Oh S**! kit and of course I had more than enough space for all.

In fact, I added gloves in the convenient mesh section, some square gauze and a triangular bandage to the kit.

As for the construction, I am going to say it is shooting competition Range Bag tough. The item I have consistently destroyed through the years in IDPA has been range bags as the usual offerings are made of thin ballistic nylon and crappy zippers. This pouch looks like the miniature version of CED XL-Professional Range Bag which is the gold standard of soft range bags. The material feels tough, the zippers well sewn and overall it looks well finished. Obviously only time will tell, but I don’t think I am wrong on this one.

I stole this picture from their website so those who are more advanced in training understand better what can go inside. I will only use what I have been trained to use and I get to keep it light in the process.

My pouch will stay with the future bigger bag at home or the whole thing in the car if we are doing a long trip.

And thank you again Chris for the gift.

Formerly Great Britain: Acid Attack Poster.

The latest craze in London by the Militant Mennonites is to throw acid on people they do not like. Here is a video from some days ago:

Ever so helpful, the British authorities came out with a poster indicating what you are supposed to do in case you are attacked by acid. And no, it does not begin with “shoot the fucker.”

So I call their 911 while I am being chemically burned to report the crime first? I’d thing the priority would be calling being the list item on the list. But what do I know? I am just a dumb America with aa infinitesimal risk of being attacked by “Asians” with acid.

Update: Reader Eli B. over in Facebook made the observation that the poster is irresponsible as it shows a pair of scissors with sharp points.

San Francisco bans the sales of E-Cigs.

The ban is primarily a ban on sales, and reads: “no person shall sell or distribute an electronic cigarette to a person in San Francisco.” E-cigarette sales are off limits inside San Francisco city limits, and that language applies both to brick-and-mortar retailers and to online shops, which cannot ship to recipients at a San Francisco address (though that provision seems oddly difficult to police).

San Francisco Becomes The First City To Officially Ban E-Cigarettes

Q: Can I shit in the streets of SanFran?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I smoke pot?
A: Yes, of course!

Q: Can I shoot heroin?
A: Not only yes, but we will exchange needles at taxpayers’ expense.

Q: Can I buy cigarettes?
A: Highly taxed, but yes. Please respect the No Smoking areas.

Q: Can I buy an E-Cig?
A: Are you insane? NO! That is harmful for your health! You must be a White Supremacist!

Millennials have just made themselves unemployable

From Miguel’s post, I just had to check out the #WayfairWalkout hashtag.

What a shitshow of virtue signaling.

Over and over again, did people post the thought-terminating cliches of “babies in cages” and making comparisons to concentration camps.

What is worse is apparently the interaction between the employees and Wayfair management.

So 547 employees signed a petition for Wayfair to donate its profits to a group that provides legal aid to people making false asylum claims.

Then there was this:

I cannot imagine looking at my management and saying “are you going to concede to my demands or am I going to walk out?”  I’d get escorted out of the building by security and HR would mail me my stuff.

And what was their demand, besides donating profits from previous sales?

Cancel an upcoming contract worth $200,000.

So the employees, who are collecting a paycheck and benefits are demanding that their employer give up money and stop selling because they have bought into the most irrational talking points on a controversial topic.

This is how Wayfair responded:

That was a decent statement.  Far nicer than the “fuck you, you’re fired” I would have gone with.

The way these employees have acted is exactly what we saw with the campus activists over the last few years.

These kids have hit real life and haven’t changed.  They expect their employers to bend over backward to their radical demands just as fast as their campus administrators did.

The problem is, this is bad for business.  When the most radical activist employees get to decide who the business can take for customers based on politics, the company goes down the drain.

What these people have done is to make companies give a second thought to hiring millennials.

Everyone assumed real life would hit these kids and they would stop their stupid campus activism.  Well, it hasn’t.  Now the corporate world is having to deal with this mess.

Employers are going to have to start seriously vetting employees to make sure they don’t hire activists who decide to state a social media walkout because said employees don’t like that company makes drinking straws or police uniforms or has a contract with some other group that is not liked.

These people have proven that hiring millennials is dangerous.

Automation is going to go up and millennial employment is going to go down.

Great job schmucks, your woke activism just hit your entire generation right in the wallet.

Put your money where your Virtue Signaling Mouth is. ( #MayfairWalkout @wayfairwalkout )

Hundreds of Wayfair employees are expected to walk off the job Wednesday to protest the online retailer’s decision to furnish a detention camp for migrant children at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The workers are expected to walk out from their Boston headquarters at 1:30 p.m. and head to Copley Square, about a seven-minute walk away. Organizers are calling on employees who are based in the headquarters and remote workers to participate in the protest.

Wayfair Employees to Walkout Over Sales to Migrant Detention Centers

Why just a walkout? If you really feel for the cause, just quit. You do not need to be getting a paycheck from those morally corrupt filthy Capitalist, right? And not only that, that paycheck money you have been getting every pay period is tainted with the blood and tears of the poor immigrants suffering in concentration camps. That is worse that Judas’ Thirty Pieces of Silver! What you must do is either return it to the company or donate it to an Immigrant Care organization. That you already spent the money? I am sure you can sell your belonging and at least partially use the money for good use. That you need to feed and clothe your kids? How dare you compare your Gringo-Privileged kids born in this country and enjoying all the benefits with the kids warehoused in the Treblinkas of Texas and Arizona!

Your cause is fantastic and you must  be willing to make a real sacrifice, not just take half a dy off and go to Starbucks while you Instagram your Virtue Signaling.

He’s right, but there’s an even bigger issue here

I saw this Tweet from Congressman Dan Crenshaw:

He is, of course, 100% right.

Why should a guy with a high school diploma working on a DOT road crew pay taxes to cover the education of a sociology major who is just going to berate him for his “Men Working” sign?

But there is a much bigger criticism of the free college movement that I have not seen from anybody else yet.

There is an issue that has been studied in the field of economics for almost two hundred years and was discussed by ancient Greek and Roman philosophers before that.

It is the Tragedy of the Commons.  In its strictest sense, the Tragedy of the Commons says that people will abuse or misuse a common resource.  This first entered the field of economics when William Forster Lloyd noticed that farmers would overgraze on public pastures but not on private ones.

The bigger picture of the Tragedy of the Commons is that people do not respect what they do not own or pay for from the fruits of their labor.

It has been shown that poor people who do not receive food benefits budget their food purchases better and buy better food.  Those who receive food benefits budget poorly and buy more junk food.  Simply for the reason that they are spending money that they didn’t work for.

We see the same issue in public or subsidized housing.  That falls into disrepair and dilapidation quickly, because the natural incentive to take care of what you work for vanishes.

So what happens when we extend the Tragedy of the Commons to the public college or university system?

How quickly will it be abused?  Predictions are not hard to make.

The flunk out rate will go up as kids who lose interest stop attending class.  The number of kids who change majors frequently or fail to matriculate in a field will go up.  The number of economically useless niche majors will multiply.

Free public colleges will complete their transformation into daycares where kids go for four, five, or six years after high school.  Any outside incentive that kids have to earn a degree and get a good job will evaporate.

That leaves only those who are self-motivated to achieve and stuck in a devalued institution.

The other economic law of note, the Law of Unintended Consequences, will kick in and the only institutions with degrees that have any value will be private institutions that are not free.

This will further segregate society as the kids who can’t afford private schools but are motivated find themselves lumped in with the academic overgrazers and are unable to get jobs because a public college degree will be worth as much as a public high school diploma, i.e., senior burger-flipper.

The natural laws of economics – those derived by watching how people behave in the real world – are just as unavoidable as the natural laws of science.

Free public college will destroy the public college and university system quickly and as effectively as public housing is turned into slums, and for exactly the same reason.

Why I can’t be a cop.

Abandoned baby in Georgia wrapped in a plastic bag.

Georgia has a Safe Haven law which allows mothers to drop babies in hospitals to any employee and leave, no questions asked.  Many mother have chose to take advantage of it but leave them in police stations or fire houses. But in a plastic shopping bag? Mother of God what can of perverse creature can anybody be to this?

If I was the officer in the video, I’d be going home that night to cry and possibly get a shot of bourbon or two. And as investigator who locates and apprehends Mommy Criminal? I would need back up just to make sure she does not fall off the car several times before on route to jail.
