U.S. Olympic Committee to IOC: ‘end prohibition’ of protests at Games

The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee on Thursday took an unprecedented step in support of athletes’ right to protest at the Olympic Games.

The USOPC, in a news release, called on the International Olympic Committee to “end the prohibition of peaceful demonstrations” on global sport’s biggest stage.

It also said it “will not sanction Team USA athletes for respectfully demonstrating in support of racial and social justice for all human beings” – even if the demonstrations run afoul of the IOC’s anti-protest rules.

There goes the Olympics.  It died a woke death.

No longer will there be games.

Every athlete will use ever second of available camera time to push their activism du jour.

Those who aren’t activists will have to fake it and show solidarity or be attacked for not being sufficiently obsequious allies.  Silence is violence as they say.

No one will want to watch several weeks of athletes we’ve never heard of protesting against America on the international stage so viewership will drop below prime time CNN doing an all nude musical review.

Then the Olympics will be dead, woked to death.

The Challenge: ETA (TV Series 2020– ) – IMDb

The series is about the “separatists” (read terrorist) group ETA (Euskadi Ta Askatasuna) which may have started as people fighting against the dictator  Franco, but ended up being just another bunch of communist assholes with a thirst for power and blood.

After the death of Franco, Spain becoming a democracy and every region allowed to be mostly autonomous as most everybody wanted, you’d think ETA would have accepted and joined all other parties and become a part of the peaceful process: Nope. If anything they became even worse than before and pretty much rivaling all the nasty crap that Franco and his regime did.

I am halfway through the second episode and I had to stop: You may have killed a Guardia Civil because of your sick reasons, but then chasing and harassing the widow? Throwing rocks at her during the funeral? Forcing her and the family to go into hiding?

I followed a lot about what the ETA was doing when I was a kid and then in my younger years. With so many Spanish immigrants in Venezuela, newspapers would print a lot about what was happening. But I am finding out stuff that had not been revealed or was after I quit paying attention like how they executed their own for daring to opine that it would have been a good idea to participate politically in the transition of Spain into a democracy.

History shows once again you cannot trust anything from the Left.

The new top prosecutor of Los Angeles County announced Monday that his office will decline to prosecute many of the most common misdemeanor offenses, sparking an angry retort from at least one police union.
George Gascon, LA County’s new district attorney, said his mission was to move the justice system away from its past.
“For decades tough-on-crime advocates, the private prison industry, the bail industry and law enforcement unions — all organizations that profit off taking away your liberties — they sold us a false narrative that more police, stiffer penalties and more people locked up in prison made us safer,”

You can tell he is doing the Left narrative and accidentally let’s it slip: You do not go to prison for misdemeanors, only people convicted of a felony (and not even all) go to the Big House.

Gascon’s directive allows the following crimes to go scot free.  There are exceptions, but how the hell is a cop supposed to know if they apply from a simple radio call? Here are the newly free crimes in Los Angeles:

Trespass, Disturbing the Peace, Driving without a valid license, Driving on  a suspended license, Criminal Threats, Drug paraphernalia possession, Minor in possession of alcohol, Drinking in Public, Under the influence of a controlled substance, Public intoxication, Loitering, Loitering to commit prostitution & Resisting arrest.

So cops being cops won’t even bother to attend calls identified as one of the new non-prosecutable calls, why bother? Hookers decided to use your storefront to get business? Tough titty, deal with it. A bunch of drunks crash into you family picnic scaring everybody with their behavior and language? Tough titty, deal with it. Bunch of kids drinking themselves into an alcoholic coma? Fuck It, Drive On.

I can go on, but why bother?  I should pity the citizens of L.A. but they voted for this D.A., let them enjoy it.

New York Times op-ed columnist David Brooks ignited a wave of backlash after insulting rural Americans who have no contact with the “expert class.”

The political commentator’s pompous contention, during an appearance on MSNBC, that the right feeds on conspiracy theories and have been “left behind” while those in blue cities are “thriving,” sparked much head-scratching and criticism on social media.

Biden-voting counties equal 70% of America’s economy. What does this mean for the nation’s political-economic divide?

Most notably, the stark economic rift that Brookings Metro documented after Donald Trump’s shocking 2016 victory has grown even wider. In 2016, we wrote that the 2,584 counties that Trump won generated just 36% of the country’s economic output, whereas the 472 counties Hillary Clinton carried equated to almost two-thirds of the nation’s aggregate economy.

A similar analysis for last week’s election shows these trends continuing, albeit with a different political outcome. This time, Biden’s winning base in 509 counties encompasses fully 71% of America’s economic activity, while Trump’s losing base of 2,547 counties represents just 29% of the economy. (Votes are still outstanding in 28 mostly low-output counties, and this piece will be updated as new data is reported.)

How can that be? How can only 17% of the countries in this country be responsible for 70% of the economy?

It’s banking, finance, corporate boardrooms, stock trading, Hollywood, and Silicon Valley.

It’s not manufacturing, agriculture, mining, refining, etc.

Put these two together.

Our “expert class” is made up of people who have been groomed in a handful of institutions to spend their lives fondling money, bloviating, and sucking themselves and each other off about how great they are for being masters-of-the-universe types.

This is neo-feudalism.

Today’s lords are not titles of nobility granted by birth or a king.  They are degrees granted by a few institutions and titles given by big corporations.

They are more and more clustered and cloistered into socio-economic Mottes.

The other 83% of counties and the populations within are populated by peons beyond the Bailey to toil in the dirt.

At least Medieval nobility has a religious obligation to take care of their peasants.

This new class of lords has figured put how to divorce themselves from us.  The harvest may be spoiled but they still make money by financial wheeling and dealing.  People got rich off the housing bubble then got rich off the bust.

If you want to know what they think of you, it’s this.  You are unenlightened and unimportant and you need to know your place is under their boot.

As the ranking Democrat, Feinstein ordinarily would be expected to run the Party’s strategy on issues of major national importance, including judicial nominations. Instead, the committee has been hamstrung and disorganized. very different mode now.”
“Other members were constantly trying to go around her because, as chair, she didn’t want to do anything, and she also didn’t want them doing anything,” the former Senate staffer said.
A current aide to a different Democratic senator observed sadly, “She’s an incredibly effective human being, but there’s definitely been deterioration in the last year. She’s in a very different mode now.”
