Faux Fur Stabber found not guilty for reason of insanity.

CLEVELAND — The woman accused of stabbing another woman for wearing faux fur boots inside a Cleveland Heights church was found not guilty by reason of insanity on Tuesday.

Meredith Lowell, who previously pleaded not guilty to the charges against her back in December, waived her right to a jury trial and opted for a bench trial.

The defense presented a report from a doctor that stated that Lowell was suffering from autism spectrum disorder at the time of the stabbing. “At the time of the offenses, Ms. Lowell did not know the wrongfulness of her actions,” the report stated.

Lowell will be taken into temporary custody until her next hearing on March 9.

This is not the first time she tries to off somebody because Animal Activism and this is the second time she gets off under mental issues.  I hope the judge takes in consideration previous events and sends her to a mental institution where she will probably remain for all of a month.

Corona Virus: “Containment at our borders becomes harder and harder”

A top U.S. health official said Tuesday the spread of coronavirus in the country appears to be inevitable, while warning that the disruptions could be “severe.”

Nancy Messonnier, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters the agency expects to see more cases in the U.S.

“As more and more countries experience community spread, successful containment at our borders becomes harder and harder,” Messonnier said.

And wait till the first deaths happen in Mexico. The flood of Mexicans and Central Americans coming over trying to outrun the disease will be biblical.

I’d expect the southern border to be militarized & locked down. I also expect Liberal politicians and courts to block the efforts just to fuck with Trump and the elections if they have not happened then or just because they simply cannot pass up this opportunity to regain power.

The bodies will pile up and contrary to what the Democrats are expecting, they won’t be able to control this one (look at the great job they are doing with Bernie if you don’t believe me). The sad shit about epidemics is that they do not have party affiliation and they will laugh at your attempts to capitalize it. When the shit hits the fan, expect to see the best and brightest of the Media and Politicians hanging from overpasses sporting a different size neck.

And suddenly having half the world’s small arms will no longer be considered a shame.

My other worry is: What happens if the virus does a number on Russia? They will want some serious payback. I would not see it impossible that a couple nukes would be dropped on the heads of the Chinese Politburo. Russians take shit like that personal, specially if the rumor this was a bio-weapon gone loose gets confirmed.

We are living in interesting times.

This is not going to end well. Greyhound to Fight ICE.

Greyhound Lines, one of the nation’s leading bus companies, announced it will no longer allow agents from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency to stop and check its buses for illegal immigrants across the nation and in Florida.

Under federal law, border agents can perform routine checks on Greyhound buses without a warrant. But Greyhound now insists law enforcement personnel will not be able to board its private buses without the company’s consent.

Greyhound Will No Longer Allow Law Enforcement Check For Illegal Immigrants on Buses

Basically Greyhound just told ICE they can’t come in their terminal without a warrant.  Fine, that is legally right.

Now a simple DUI checkpoint OUTSIDE the terminal, a couple of drug-sniffing dogs doing the rounds and if they give a hit (and if you have rode a Greyhound bus, you know they will) and everybody is detained and searched.

Worse yet. Same scenario in a regular bus stop in the middle of nowhere and do you know how long does it take to check everybody’s ID? And Yehaaw Junction is not quite prime real state Palm Beach County.

Go woke…

It depends on the definition of “taken out”

Bernie pulled another “[Communist country] may be an authoritarian dictatorship but they did [perceived good statistic].”

This time with China.

Depending on how you look at this, he’s not wrong.

China starved 50 Million of it’s poorest citizens to death.

China also imposed mandatory one-child policies with forced abortions, which reduced the number of mouths to feed in a family.

Killing millions of citizens and forcing millions of more abortions does take people out of poverty because if they are dead, they are not poor anymore.

Igor is a fascist the like rest of the woke Left

I read Miguel’s post The scariest thing for a White Liberal is ….

The two Tweets that he posted was just part of Igor Volsky’s thread.

He said some other things in his Twitter rant that I wanted to address.

There are many parts to this that are wrong.

There are more guns in America now than ever before.  So what.  In most of America, violent crime is down.  It’s near an all-time low at the national level.  The problem is that in a handful of very large, high population density, cities, crime is up, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, DC, etc.  Those cities, because of their size and influence, are cultural centers of our national conscience, so the perception is that crime is up.  It’s only up in those Blue bubbles, and because of disastrous soft on crime policies.  More guns does not mean more crime, especially at the national level.

Guns also come in different styles with different uses and follow trends that change over time.  So the market is always looking for something new.  This is no different than cars.  The sedan gave way to the station wagon which gave way to the minivan which gave way to the SUV.  People wanted something new.  Developing new products to appeal to new consumers is what the market does.

The statement that “the industry is *actively circumventing existing laws* to bring banned dangerous weapons to market” is wrong.  The firearms industry is one of the most heavily regulated industries in America.  There is an entire federal law enforcement agency that exists to police it, the ATF.  Every time something new comes out that might violate the law, firearms manufacturers have to get a letter of approval from the ATF to sell it.  The pistol brace, smooth bore firearms (Tac14, Shockwave), even the original bump stock, were all done within the letter of the law, signed off by the ATF.  They are not circumventing the law in any way.

To understand this, it needs to be understood that there were structural changes at the ATF starting in the early 2000’s.  I have this information from a very good, first-hand source.  Being a law enforcement only agency, there was a lot of questioning as to why the ATF existed.  Especially after it got such a bad name after the Waco, Texas disaster.  Why not just merge the ATF with the FBI and call it a day?

The ATF realized that it needed to be different.  They adopted a role more similar to the FAA or FDA, less law enforcement and more industry regulatory agency.  They also softened their stances on a lot of things, allowing AR pistol braces and other “innovative” adaptions.

The increasing popularity in NFA items is likewise the result of structural changes at the ATF.  NFA applications have become more shall issue, and the permitting time has gone down considerably (the Obama suppressor rush notwithstanding).

To say that these changes, which have not come with an increase in crime, is industry illegality or malfeasance is dishonest and slanderous.

The part “make firearms of ever-increasing lethality” is accurate, but disingenuous.  The purpose of a gun is to kill.  You want your hunting bullet to kill the animal as fast and painlessly as possible.  You want your defensive ammo to stop the threat as fast as possible.  A lot of engineering goes into making that happen.  the effectiveness of the tool is improved.  Igor may not like that, but a gun company making more lethal guns is like Ford making electric cars that have greater range and faster recharging times.

Again, the firearms industry is one of the most regulated industries in America.  It does benefit from some legal protection.  The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act exists to protect the industry from being held liable for consumer misuse.

It is not Glock’s fault if a gang member trades drugs for a stolen gun and uses it to kill a rival dealer.

The PLCAA does not protect gun makers for making products that are unsafe or defective.  This is why Remington chose to settle over the Walker trigger design.  It also doesn’t protect the gun industry if they did something illegal.  The PLCAA did not protect them from that.  This is also at the heart of the Bushmaster case, did Bushmaster’s marketing violate Connecticut advertisement laws.

Defective guns are a problem, which is why recalls occur.  Just ask SIG about the drop problems with the P320, or Rossi about… everything (just kidding Miguel).

What Igor wants is “guns kill, so they must be regulated to death or banned.”  The problem is, guns are supposed to kill.  That is the difference between guns and teddy bears or lawn darts. Nobody buys a teddy bear thinking it could kill a child.  Anybody responsible person who buys a gun knows it could kill a child so don’t let the child get ahold of the gun.

This regulate the product and hold makers accountable is disingenuous.

There is one more aspect to the PLCAA that is real but never gets mentioned: national security.  Gun companies cannot survive financially on military and law enforcement sales alone.  By the time the government has negotiated down the price, there is hardly any profit left.  Civilian sales are where the profit is.  SIG get the government to fund the R&D on some PDW, but the money is made in selling it as a braced pistol to the consumer.

Without the PLCAA, the anti-gun nuts could sue the industry out of existence.  That means no more gun companies, and engineers, manufacturing techs, and so on that know how to design and make them.  That means that the skills to design and make guns, which is a strategic necessity, would no longer exist and that would harm our national security.

Just look at England.  They have to get all their guns and gun design from outside England.  When they needed to update the SA80, they had to turn to H&K because the gun making skills in the UK were gone.

The Left hates the military, but the PLCAA is more than just fair to the industry, it is preserving a strategic interest.  The knowledge of how to design and make weapons for the military.

This last part is pure woke fascism.

The woke Left has weaponized shame.  It is the core of cancel culture.  They will harass you and shame you and try to cost you your job and livelihood to get you to concede to their demands.

They want to employ this against gun owners to get them to concede to the lie about the 97% who want gun reform.

“Back our demand or we’ll call your boss and get you fired.  We’ll destroy your small business on Twitter, Facebook, Yelp, and Google Reviews so you’ll never make any money again.  We’ll make sure your children are bullied in school and Baristas recognize you and write insulting names on your coffee cups.  Do what we say or we will ruin your reputation and make you a pariah in society.”

This is the threat.  This is the ugliest of the mob mentality.  This is not winning with ideas, this is social terrorism.

Igor Volsky is more than just a patronizing racist.  He’s a despicable, lying, fascist.

Alabama gun owners, calm down, this isn’t a bad bill

If you have been following Alabama gun politics, you might have heard about AL HB39 proposed by Alabama state representative Proncey Robertson (R-District 7).

To read the news, this is the beginning of gun registration in Alabama.

“They need to back off of trying to regulate people who lawfully carry weapons,” Eddie Fulmer with BamaCarry said.

Fulmer believes people who aren’t supposed to have a gun should be the only ones in the system.

“Permit holders in Alabama are some of the most law-abiding citizens there are. We’re the least likely to commit a crime of any part of society. What they are worried about here is a very insignificant amount of people when it comes to revoking a permit,” Fulmer said.

Holy shit, Alabama is turning into California.

Or, maybe not.  This is the synopsis from the text of the bill.

Under current law, concealed carry permits are issued by the sheriffs of each county. Each sheriff may have different fees, forms, and processes for the issuance of a concealed carry permit. Further, each county may maintain separate databases of individuals authorized to carry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about his or her person within this state. This bill would standardize a process by which concealed carry permits may be issued statewide and would create a state concealed carry
permit information system by which relevant data may be maintained and provided to law enforcement. This bill would also integrate into that
state information system existing data relating to concealed carry permits issued by county sheriffs.  This bill would provide that concealed carry permits may be issued for terms of one year or five years or for the lifetime of the permit holder.  This bill would authorize the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency to conduct background checks on persons with concealed carry permits in order to ensure continued compliance with state and federal law.

This bill would also provide that the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency may revoke a permit after a determination that the permit holder
should not possess a permit under the same criteria for the issuance of a permit. This bill would allow sheriffs and other law enforcement officers to request that the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency revoke a concealed carry permit upon reasonable belief that the permit holder should not possess a permit under the same criteria for the issuance of a permit.  This bill would allow an individual whose permit has been revoked to appeal that revocation to the district court of his or her county of residence within 30 days of the revocation.

This bill would require municipal, county, probate, and state courts to report to the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency any disposition which would render that individual ineligible for a concealed carry permit, as well as report to the agency any update to any disposition which was previously forwarded to the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency, including notice of any appeal, expungement, pardon, commutation, or restoration of civil rights.

This bill will make several clerical edits to existing sections of the Code of Alabama 1975, to make law relating to concealed carry permits uniform.

Here is something that happened in Alabama a year or so ago that BamaCarry seems to have overlooked.

It used to be that anyone with a concealed carry permit issued in Alabama could buy a gun from a dealer without having to do a 4473 or NICS check.  Then the ATF discovered that some sheriffs were not doing the proper background checks when issuing concealed carry permits or were not revoking permits when permit holders were made into prohibited persons through a conviction.

The ATF had to rescind the privilege of Alabama permit holders to skip the NICS check because some sheriffs failed to do their job.

So it seems to me that State Rep Robertson wants fix this with a state standard and centralized database.

Right now, someone with a revoked Alabama pistol permit can be pulled over in Birmingham or Huntsville and there is no way for the local cop to know if his permit was revoked in his rural county because some slack-ass sheriff didn’t report the revocation.

Furthermore, every county’s permit looks a little different.  I can pay $5 a year and get a piece of paper I need to laminate myself or for $10 a year I get something that looks official on a plastic card with my picture.  Some counties don’t have that option so all you can get is a piece of paper.

Having one statewide standard that meets the Federal NICS standard, with one statewide database, with one statewide fee structure, and one statewide consistent permit isn’t the beginning of gun registration in Alabama.  That’s the way it’s been in every other state I’ve ever lived in an had a permit issued to me in.

This is a perfectly reasonable bill that is needed to correct a problem created by Sheriff’s departments who failed to do their due diligence to make sure criminals were not issued permits to begin with.

If you don’t like this bill, don’t blame Rep Robertson, blame the slack-ass Sheriffs who made it necessary.

Also, one more thing.

Don’t forget that in places like California, giving the sheriff total discretion for permits without a state standard for shall issue means that Blue counties don’t issue permits.

A single state standard with Shall Issue means that a sheriff on a power trip can’t deny you your rights because he feels like it.
