I’m struck by the word “re-imagining”…
Imagining a peaceful socialist world hegemony with no fossil fuels is like imagining that Cloud Cuckoo Land is real.
Every time I hear a Leftist talking about “imagining” a new world, I’m reminded of an old joke:

The real irony is that the kind of people who picture themselves as part of some sort of Leftist resistance are overwhelmingly supporting the kind of big multinational technocratic corporate fascism you see in cyberpunk stories.
It’s kind of weird, yet sadly understandable at the same time.
I just had a thought. Since the global reset means that you no longer own anything and everything that you own will now belong to the state that means all the guns and ammunition you own are not your property anymore but the property of the state which they can take at will. And if you resist you are stealing government property and therefore it is legal for the government to kill you to reclaim their property (your guns).

Big ‘S’ Socialism is just a shell game to sell the plan to the rubes. The power players of the big multinational companies have no intention of turning over the means of production to the bourgeois. Disney, Google, Walmart, et al have no intention of disappearing, and the people they have bought have no intention of losing all that sweet, sweet cash either.
Always remember that Leftist always lie. The plan remains using the pandemic as an excuse to crush the little guys- small businesses, independents, and so on, and force them into working for either one of the big multinational companies (with a mandatory union membership to keep you in line), or for a government department of some sort (with a mandatory union membership to keep you in line).
Of course Big Tech will be there to sell you your own personal portable telescreen.
Re “hide your precious metals” — there’s precedent; FDR confiscated those. Since he’s a left wing saint it could certainly happen again in what Bernie promises will be the “most progressive administration since FDR”.
Of course they will have to confiscate our guns first to get away with any of this.
