Waco (Mini Series)

Waco is a must see. The missus and I finish watching it yesterday and it was good because for a change, you do not get another story based on the official bullshit we were fed during and after the incident. In fact, the series starts with Ruby Ridge and that colossal fuck up that led to the even bigger one in Texas.

The production value is high. When I saw the scenes of the Mount Carmel compound, I had a chill because the reproduction is almost perfect, matching what we saw on TV back then. Knowing it went up in smoke. and then seeing it again was eerie, like we were revisiting a ghost.

If you must do a binge, make it this one.

Just a thought

Fun fact:  According to the CIA fact book, the population of Mexico is 125 Million.

Second fun fact: there are roughly 11.7 Million Mexicans living in the United States.

That means that just shy of 10% of the Mexican population actually lives in the US.

In 2017, these immigrants sent $69 Billion dollars in remittances to Mexico.  More than half of illegal immigrants in the US live in California.

California can’t stop raising taxes on its residents.  I wonder why nobody in California talks about the $35 Billion sent from California to Mexico each year, and what that would do to the California economy if it stayed there.

All of this is enough to piss off people who care about the American economy and American citizens.

Then the former President of Mexico, Vincente Fox does this:

That is adding insult to economic injury.

Here’s my proposal.

The United States Army invades northern Mexico.  We annex the Mexican states of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas.

If Mexico wants us to give amnesty to 10% of their population then we should get 10% of their land.  That will also give of one-third of their oil reserves and 10% of their export economy.

That seems like a fair trade to me.

Your daily reminder that they hate you and want to kill you

Kamala Harris is the Junior Senator from California and the former California state Attorney General.

She is also a favored Democratic nominee for presidential candidate for 2020.

Here she is joking about killing Trump, Pence, and AG Sessions, to uproarious applause on Ellen.

If she’s willing to kill the President, Vice President, or Attorney General over political differences, what do you think she thinks about kill you Trump supporting, deplorable, peons?

Probably not much if anything at all.

Remember, there is no victory that far Left isn’t willing to obtain by filling graves with dissenters.

I just wonder what her chances of victory are if the Secret Service were to do an investigation of her and the DOJ charged her with threatening the president?

Holy crap things have changed in SF

I had outpatient surgery on my back yesterday to decompress my spine from a bulging disc.  So today I’m not doing much but lying in an easy chair watching TV.  Doctor’s orders.

Fortunately, the TV gods have smiled down upon me.  There is a Dirty Harry marathon on the El Rey Network.

I’m all of 10 mines into Dirty Harry and am blind sided by how much California  of 1971 is out of touch from California of 2018.

Right after Harry delivers the ransom  note from Scorpio to the mayor, the mayor says “The City of San Francisco does not pay criminals not to commit crimes.”

I had to laugh out loud.  Only last year did Sacramento adopt a $1.5 million policy to pay criminals not to commit crimes.

Just a few seconds later, Harry and the mayor have this interaction.

Seriously.

Only four days ago this was the news from San Francisco “Proposal Would Limit When California Police Can Shoot Guns.”

Several lawmakers and the family of a 22-year-old unarmed black man who was fatally shot by police are proposing Tuesday that California become the first state to significantly restrict when officers can open fire.

The legislation would change the standard from using “reasonable force” to “necessary force.”

That means officers would be allowed to shoot only if “there were no other reasonable alternatives to the use of deadly force” to prevent imminent serious injury or death, said Lizzie Buchen, legislative advocate for the American Civil Liberties Union, which is among the groups behind the measure.

The goal is to encourage officers to try to defuse confrontations or use less deadly weapons, said Terry Schanz, a spokesman for Democratic Assemblyman Kevin McCarty of Sacramento, who is co-authoring the legislation with Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, a San Diego Democrat.

That means that Harry would have to tackle or mace or taser said guy with a butcher knife and a hard-on.

Some in law enforcement called the proposal “irresponsible and unworkable.”

No shit.

The shooing would also been “racist,” because knowing what we do about the Fillmore and Mission districts, any rapist chasing a woman with a hard-on is an illegal immigrant.  If Harry had said “Yeah, well, when an adult male is chasing a young man with intent to commit rape, I shoot the bastard; that’s my policy” then we can assume a white victim, in which case the shooting would have been homophobic.

Then later there is these scene.

Oh shit.  Well I guess Harry won’t have to worry about shooting anybody anymore because he’s been fired eight times by now, so has his cop buddy.

In fact, there is now a Social Media hate mob after him, the San Francisco police department is being torn apart on Twitter, Black Lives Matter would be marching in the streets burning shit to the ground, and CNN and MSNBC would be calling for Harry Callahan’s head.

My how much stuff has changed.  No wonder Clint Eastwood is a die hard Republican.

Because you cannot insult people and demand their loyalty

At The Denver Post on Monday, more than two dozen reporters, editors, photographers, videographers, page designers, digital producers and opinion staff will walk out the door. Our marching orders are to cut a full 30 by the start of July.
These heartbreaking instructions raise the question: Does this cut, which follows so many in recent years that our ranks have shriveled from more than 250 to fewer than 100 today, represent the beginning of the end for the Voice of the Rocky Mountain Empire?

Editorial: As vultures circle, The Denver Post must be saved

What’s happening to the Denver Post is not unique. Many old newspapers and printed media in general are suffering from a slump that is forcing their owners to make cuts in order to remain up and running and maybe even profitable.

I apologize for using the word “profit.” I understand that for many people in the News business, profit is a bad word that can never be said in front of polite intellectual company. To demand that a newspaper make a profit is like demanding to sacrifice virgins to satisfy some absurd god: it is stupid and immoral according to editors.

But the same editors steered the paper into the dire straits they are facing now.  The newspaper would not need to be going through these pains if they actually did something they are supposed to do since they opened their doors: Sell newspapers.

A flagship local newspaper like The Post plays a critically important role in its city and state: It provides a public record of the good and the bad, serves as a watchdog against public and private corruption, offers a free marketplace of ideas and stands as a lighthouse reflective and protective of — and accountable to — a community’s values and goals. A news organization like ours ought to be seen, especially by our owner, as a necessary public institution vital to the very maintenance of our grand democratic experiment.

These words would have had been effective say 10 years ago. Even today to us, old school readers, they manage to give the smallest of tugs in our hearts because we remember when newspapers were something you respected. But that respect went away when you chose sides and I don’t mean that the paper leaned one way or the other politically, that is to be expected, but when the majority of newspapers in the nation became propaganda rags and damage control tools for one party. You refused the vet candidates while digging for all kinds of nasty crap on their opponents. You sofballed the politicians on your side while asking their opposition if they stopped beating their wives. You constantly lied about subjects even though the data was present and logically impossible to refute because that is what the politicians of your side demanded to be published. You basically polluted that marketplace of ideas with your obvious bias and were not even smart enough to charge for it.

So when you insult your customers day in and day out, they do something strange: they abandon you. Your income tanks and you become a weak institution, prime target for somebody who wants to buy it cheap.

This in a market filled with hyper-educated citizens ready and able to afford great journalism should it be offered them.

That is funny as shit. You cannot produce a good-quality product but somehow you feel you are that product and are sure that if some rich Mexican Cell Phone entrepreneur comes along, you will be able to deliver that product to those hyper-educated citizens that already abandoned you because you simply suck.

The only advantage newspapers have over other media is that they are the ones that can do in-depth investigations and present it over a period of time. Their is not to rush for the 20 second spot over the air nor the quick headlines of a web feed. That niche alone should be enough to provide you with a nice income, enough to break even and keep people in the payroll.

But when people have grown to distrust that “investigation” because of the obvious lies and general misinformation they read in your pages, then you have cut your own throat and there is no way to save your sorry ass.

It is not that newspapers should disappear, in fact they should be brought back. What needs to disappear is the propaganda corps that runs newspapers across the nation and they better do it soon as the only reason many people still buy the newspapers is because of the coupons that come with it and not for the information.

London Metropolitan Police: 78 old man arrested for self defense “murder” has been released with no further action.

Remember the 78-year-old London man who killed a home invader in the wee hours of the night?

A man arrested following a fatal stabbing in Lewisham has been released with no further action.
The 78-year-old man was told on Friday, 6 April, that following consultation between the Met and Crown Prosecution Service, no action will be taken.

UPDATE: Death of man in Lewisham.

We find out one more bit of info I was not aware off initially.

The 78-year-old resident, who was at home with his wife, had found two men inside the address and a struggle ensued between him and the men.

The wife was home and I assume she was around the same age of the gentleman. That even makes his actions more justifiable.

I know this particular case has been making the rounds in blogs and Twitter and I’d say 99 to 1 were in favor of the defending senior. And I figure the thousands of reminders to the Tony Martin case may have swayed Met Police to go very easy on him.

Let’s hope the family of the scumbag does not decided to sue the pensioners.

Brady Campaign hitching its wagon to Black Lives Matter?

Interesting that they are replicating Moms Demand script. Or maybe is because they may be now getting funding from Bloomberg?

I would love to advise them against pissing off the rank-and-file LEO, but why correct the enemy when they are making a mistake?
