Tucker Carlson debated Mark Hetfield, a refugee advocate, about the Trump Travel Ban 2.0. Hetfield’s argument was, there hasn’t been a history of terrorism from the six nations named in the travel ban so it is discriminatory.
I know I’m a nobody from Flyover country, but here is what I see, and why I support the travel ban 100% and think it should be expanded.
Is it too much to ask that people who come from a culture in which beheadings in the streets is normal NOT be relocated to the US?

Not to mention, the argument that the “Muslim ban is a gift to ISIS” is the worst think I’ve ever heard. “If you don’t let us in to your country, we will kill you” isn’t a refugee policy, it is a hostage tactic. That line of thought should be an automatic disqualifier.

So someone in the Obama administration got a FISA warrant to do some e-surveillance on Trump’s people. There has been some discussion of “deep state” entrenched bureaucrats, left over from the Obama admin, going after Trump from inside the government. Mark Levin was on Fox News listing all the MSM stories covering the Obama surveillance of Trump and his people. Michael Moore (who is looking more and more like an old lesbian spinster) wants Obama holdovers to take down Trump.
Here’s the thing, let’s say it is all true. Obama did spy on Trump and his people and install Obama agents in the government to take out Trump by collecting and leaking Trump info until his is impeached or resigns in shame. What is the end game?
If you think the Dems hate Trump, they have to hate Pence more. After Pence is Paul Ryan. Republicans may think hes a RINO, but the Dems don’t like him either. The line of succession doesn’t hit a Democrat until place No 8, and before that you have No. 6, James Mattis as an Independent (although I could have President Mad Dog Mattis).
Under no scenario is Trump replaces with Hillary or is a special election called to do that.
What are they trying to accomplish? Simply destroying an Administration without a plan to replace it is insane. If a bunch of Obama plants manage to take out an entire elected Administration, i.e., Trump and Pence, our government is over. What is the point of an election if some entrenched bureaucrats can undo it?
Is the Dem plan is to take their ball and go home? Because I can’t see this country holding together if one party’s ideology is “if we don’t win the election, we will destroy the stability of government.”
I shot my first IDPA match in since I lived in South Dakota, this weekend. Also it was the first time with this gun and the sights I had put on it, shooting CDP class.
I survived halfway through the gunfight, coming in exactly in tho 50% percentile.
I have been shooting steel challenge recently and I need to overcome that mindset.
M shooting was good, having a decently low PD, it was the half dozen procedurals that killed me, literally. Who needs cover when you are shooting steel plates?
I think I’m going to make the jump from Steel Challenge to IDPA a more permanent thing. What I need to do is really start practicing my footwork.
You can’t miss fast enough to win a gunfight, I know that. But standing squared up, broad side to a baddie to get a clean shot is probably a good way to lose one.

If it is true, than what Obama is doing is absolutely unprecedented. The peaceful transition of power from one administration to the next is so much a part of American history, that we take for granted just how special it is.
The incoming President is expected, even while undoing the previous Administration’s policies, not to criticize the outgoing President by name. Likewise, the outgoing President is not supposed to criticize or backseat drive the new Administration. There are rules of decorum that are followed by American Presidents.
If this article is true, Obama is going against the playbook. Never before has a President tried to sabotage his successor. The Democrat attitude seems to be, if we can’t steer the ship of state, we’re going to sink it.
I don’t think Obama or any Democrat that stands with him on this knows what they are doing. If Obama and his posse take out Trump, they will make America into a Banana Republic where the peaceful transition of power is no more. Once that prescient is broken (peaceful transitions of power) it can never be made whole again. If there is another election after that, the process will be one of scorched earth.
This will turn into a blood mess. If our leaders can’t make the transition peaceful, the people can’t be expected to be peaceful either. The ship of state will be scuttled out of spite.
The NRA and other gun-rights types might see this as payback for the relentless push by New Yorkers like ex-Mayor Mike Bloomberg for tougher gun laws in the rest of the country. In fact, it’s the same thing: a foolish effort to push a parochial set of values into areas where they don’t make sense (at least, not to the people who actually live there).
Let’s remember who Cy Vance is for a moment. Vance is the DA that has consistently over prosecuted New Yorkers for carrying pocket knives under NYC’s gravity knife law, and is proud of it.
Vance is a tyrant that enjoys his position as DA, keeping his boot on the necks of New Yorkers. That is his New York value. This is keeping inthe tradition of Emperor Governor Cuomo, who stood by Vance and vetoed meaningful knife reform and passed the NY SAFE act in an “emergency” to avoid resistance, enunciated the New York value of hating, oppressing, an wanted to exile everyone who wasn’t a lockstep Progressive.

So it goes without a doubt that these tinpot dictators don’t want the Federal Government to force them to expand civil rights for their proles. A century and a half ago, Democrats like these on the opposite side of the Mason-Dixon stood for exactly the same thing.
This isn’t payback for the meddling of Mayor Bloomberg outside the Five Boroughs. This is our version of the Voting Rights Act. When Democrats made voting so difficult for Blacks that their ability to exercise their Constitutionally protected right was in effect denied, the Federal Government stepped in. Now that Democrats are doing the same thing, by making the ability to keep and bear arms effectively impossible by cost and regulation, the Federal Government once again, has the duty to step in.
In traditional Democrat fashion, MDA supporters immediately jumped on preserving NYC’s hyper-restrictive CCW rules by invoking “states rights.”
To these Progressives, states rights do apply to Constitutional protections like the right to keep and bear arms, but don’t apply to the right to conceal carry a twig and berries into the ladies room. A Texan can’t carry a gun into New York, but a New York man can carry his package into a Texas girls locker room.
Why? Because the Constitution doesn’t matter, your rights exist at the whims of Progressives.
Justice Alito framed the case as an issue of due process incorporation, i.e., whether the 2nd Amendment is incorporated in and applies to states through the 14th Amendment’s Due Process Clause (slip op., p. 10). The 14th Amendment states in part that “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property without due process of law.” The first clause is generally referred to as the “privileges and immunities” clause; the latter, the “due process” clause. Over the past century, the Supreme Court has interpreted the Due Process Clause to “selectively incorporate various rights.” Incorporation of certain Bill of Rights provisions into the 14th Amendment’s due process guarantee, make these rights enforceable against the states and not just the federal government.
After reviewing various tests and standards that the Court has used in the past to apply the Bill of Rights’ protections to the states through incorporation, Alito concluded that the appropriate test is whether “a particular Bill of Rights guarantee is fundamental to our scheme of ordered liberty. . . [and] deeply rooted in the country’s history and tradition” (ibid, p. 19).
Drawing largely on the historical record and the fact that the majority of states include the right to bear arms in their constitutions, Alito determined that “self defense” is a fundamental right and central component of the 2nd Amendment, and the right to own a handgun is part of this basic right to self-defense. Alito draws on Heller for much of the support behind his reasoning (ibid, pp. 21-26).
The next logical step in this direction is that the Second Amendment, which is an individual right, guarantees the right to self defense outside the home, i.e., guarantees concealed carry.
This is why I have become so supportive of the idea of National CCW to a low standard. It will allow a NYC and CA slave revolt. If NYC and CA won’t issue CCW permits to their residents, but a resident of Florida can carry on a trip to NYC, than NYC residents will rush out to get Florida, Utah, and Arizona CCW permits.

It is their control over who has what rights that maintains law and order, and when you allow the formerly oppressed to have their rights, they are going to act like savages and destroy society.
Today the difference isn’t quite as clear cut along color lines, but the underlying belief is the same.
