Real men use spears, idiocy plus racism

Miguel just did a post on “real men use fists.”  This is something we’ve seen before, the idea that guns are for cowards and brave men take things outside.  Only people with no understanding of violence would argue that there is something honorable about giving someone (possibly fatal) brain damage with their fists.

This is even dumber.  What is the first rule of a knife fight?  Bring a gun.  Why?  Because everyone gets cut in a knife fight.  Spears are just long handled knives.  People fought with mele weapons because that’s all they had.  As ranged weapons got better and better, the tactics of war showed that the further you were from your enemy while still being able to hit them the better off you are.

Before the gun the English long bow was the king of battle.

Then the gun.

Then artillery.

Now the primary casualty producing weapons of war are air strikes and drone strikes.

Why use a spear when you can kill your enemy from 60,000 feet or, better yet, from an office in California via remote control?

Hell, the spear was invented because it had longer reach than the club.

But why let the entire history of the technological development of war stand in the way of a making a racist statement to denigrate people.

Also, I’m going to ignore how the Chinese invented black powder and the fire lance, because nobody ran with that technology like the Europeans did.  Remember the advice given to Hiram Maxim that was the muse for the invention of the machine gun “If you want to make a pile of money, invent something that will enable these Europeans to cut each other’s throats with greater facility.”

This Tweet was a delicious bouillabaisse of ignorance and racism.  But what else can you expect from someone who tried to write about history and used a screen grab from Black Panther.

Meet Louisiana State Senator, Karen Carter Peterson.

According to the Democrats official website, she is:

Senator Karen Carter Peterson is the Vice Chair of Civic Engagement and Voter Participation at the Democratic National Committee, focused on protecting voting rights and expanding voter participation.

Karen is serving her second term as chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party — the first woman to ever hold the post. She represents New Orleans and parts of Jefferson Parish in the Louisiana State Senate where she serves as the Chair of the Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Of course, if they are not, why do they want to repeal the Second Amendment?

This is the difference in mindset that makes compromise impossible.  Our bill of rights is a charter of Negative Rights.  Negative Rights, in the words of Justice Brandeis is the right “to be let alone.”

It was for this reason that I refused to support a Constitutional Amendment defining marriage.  The Constitution of the United States should never be used to limit the rights of the people.

There are only two Amendments to the Constitution that do not limit the power of the government and instead limit the rights of the people.  They are the 16th Amendment which created the income tax and 18th Amendment which created prohibition.  Both were passed under President Woodrow Wilson during an age of rampant progressivism.

A repeal of the Second Amendment would require another Amendment, and would be the third to limit the rights of the people and expand the power of the goverment.

This is the point at which any compromise fails.  Either you believe that the Constitution of the United States is for limiting the powers of the government or the rights of the people.

Anybody who thinks that repealing the Second Amendment is a good idea has taken as side against the people.  Which is why they want to take your guns.

Progressive Democrats, limiting your rights for over 100 years.

I went to an Episcopal high school.  Being a college prep school in Miami, the student population was at least one-third Catholic.

Come Holy Week, I was taught that the reflections were the Seven last words of Jesus Christ.  Each day we had a convocation and the school priest would go over the word of the day and what it meant, like a shorter and depressing advent calendar.

The point of reflection was to teach you why Christ died for you sins and how you are to be saved in his Resurrection.  You are to reflect on your sins (hence the term “refelctions”) and why you should seek salvation.

(If I have any of this slightly off, it’s been a long time since high school and I’m doing this from memory)

So…

In the fallout of the David Hogg//Laura Ingraham kerfuffle, Ingraham decided to take a week off.

Holy fucking shit, that is awful.  I may not be a Christian but even I know that thinking that getting an internet mob to drive a pundit off the air for a week for mentioning that you didn’t get into college is not the kind of thing that aligns you with Christ and puts you in God’s good graces.

Hogg’s moral compass is totally fucked.

What a wretched piece of dog shit his soul must be.

This is the slactivist equivalent of Jihad.  Believing that is a spiritual good work to destroy the non-believer.

Somebody needs to take this kid to Church and teach him what reflections are all about.

If that doesn’t work, I think water boarding in the font would make a good penance.

Pro-gun goes MAD

There is an old saying “don’t get mad, get even.”  Apparently the best way to get even is with MAD.  Mutually Assured Destruction.

It seems that a group of pro-gun, anti-Lefties, have decided that since CNN has anointed David Hogg to be the spokes-child for the anti-gun movement, they will play by his rules.

If you insult or challenge a Parkland victim, you are to be destroyed.  No quarter, no mercy.

David Hogg was “insulted” by Laura Ingraham Tweeting about his rejection from four UC colleges.  I say “insulted” because all she did was restate a fact that he admitted to on TMZ.

Kurt “Tentacle Porn” Eichenwald criticized Kyle Kashuv on Twitter.  Kashuv is probably the only Parkland student actually doing any good right now, so of course the anti-gun Left hates him.

Well, rules are rules and everybody has the play the game fair.

Kyle Kashuv is not the only one attacked by the Left.

Patrick Petty lost his sister.  Petty is also not anti-gun.  By the standards of the anti-gun crowd, that means he doesn’t love his sister.  He was then attacked by Lauren Cohen of Bravo TV.

I’ll answer the CNN lady’s question

Because CNN is totally an objective media outlet (/sarc), this was part of an interview with David Hogg.

If she was any more sycophantic over Hogg, she’d want to earn a Cross of Honour of the German Mother with him.

But I will answer her question.

Q:  What kind of dumb ass college would reject him?

A:  A smart one.

First of all, he was probably rejected months ago, long before his activism started.  At that point he was just another white boy from an upper middle class high school.   The UC system is filled with those.

Second, if I were a school chancellor, I’d double reject him now.  Here’s why.

Every college that has seen huge social justice campus protests had lost enrollment and is hurting for money.  Mizzou  enrollment is down 35%.  Evergreen is down 20%.  Evergreen is $2.1 million short on money and is having to lay off professors.

We have already seen that Hogg has no loyalties.

The first rule of Florida is: “You don’t mess with The Mouse.”

That is really a subset of a bigger rule “don’t fuck with the tourists.”

The one thing you don’t do in Florida is try and stop the tourists from coming.

Hogg broke that rule.

So of you were a college provost or Dean of Admissions and you have some foul mouthed, Social Justice, media whore, who loves staging protests and boycotts and has the brazen balls to insult a US Senator to his face, you might want to pass on that turd.  The five minuted of good publicity you got would pay YUGE dividends in loss of enrollment, decreased revenue, and potential layoffs.

Just ask the administration of Columbia if the Left’s huzzahs over Mattress Girl were worth the cost of the settlement they paid to the guy she defamed for school credit?

I’m pretty sure, in private, every one of them would say “no.”

I think, however, some stupid provost is going to admit this kid for the Lefty accolades and cocktail party invites that will come along with it.

Then we’ll see what happens to his school.

He went so far as to doxx Arby’s management before his Tweet was deleted.
